transferring UI settingsFollow

Thanks in advance for your help. I am going out of town tomorrow to a friends house and will be playing EQ on one of his machines. What file(s) can I copy from my EQ folder to the one on his machine to have all my UI settings stay the same?

For example all my hot buttons and socials, chat window filters etc.....

The UI file for your toon (suppose his hame is Fippy) should be in your EQ folder. The file name is UI_Fippy.dml. I'm not sure if that's the correct extension, but that's the right filename.

You need 2 files. The UI_Fippy_(servername or number).ini and the Fippy_(servername or number).ini. The first one will save the way your UI looks, as in placement of windows and stuff. The second one will have all your preferences, friends list, socials, etc. You should also make sure he's got a copy of the UI you use installed on his machine if you're not using the default.

You can also save your eq.ini file, but that also depends on the type of computer you use. I have a couple diffrent computers and I always forget to turn auto attack on assit off and a few other settings, coping that file keeps it all the same and if anything I have to change display settings, which can be done in game. I also like to keep my friends list and all my hotkeys.

I'm not sure if this is the same file Noldarien was referring to, or not, but I think you will also need your eqclient.ini file.

I think that's what he meant.

UI_Yourname_Servername.ini - Window positions, sizes, etc. Basically all the UI info.
Yourname_Servername.ini - Friends list, hotbuttons/socials, spell sets.
eqclient.ini - Misc EQ settings... From which Luclin models to use to video modes.

Be careful with the EQClint.ini file. The other two files are character specific, but EQClint.ini is SYSTEM specific. If you throw it on your friends computer and overwrite his EQCLient.ini, you will be changing HIS system options, like resolution, particle effects, luclin models, etc. This may not seem like a big problem, but if his computer isn't as highspeed, low drag as yours, you could theoretically crash his game before it even starts with your settings, and if you just overwrote his file, well... you CAN just save a copy of his file somewhere to put back later. So, either do that or don't mess with this file at all. The most you're going to get out of putting yours on his pc is chant font and colors...
