Hi all,

I need some help with Range Weapons. Throwing stuff, more specifically.

How do you do it? I've got throwing knives or shuriken in my range slot, but when I try to chuck 'em I'm either too far away or too close. (There is no middle ground no matter how gently I move from too far to too close.)

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Lance.

I believe the way it works is you have to have one in your range slot and the rest in your ammo slot. Otherwise you get the conflicting messages. I'm not positive about that though...

That could be it.

If I remember rightly I had 20 shuriken in my reanged slot and 5 fishing bait in my ammo. Oooooops what a klutz.

LOL

Cheers.

I would forget about using throwing weapons, as a beastlord. If you're going to solo or be the puller in a group, you're better off using a spell to pull, than a throwing weapon.
Find a nice item with stats on it, to put in your Range slot.

Fair point lagduff, but I've no such spells. Omly offensive I've got is Flash of Light (Can't remember it's range) but would it work anyway?

Thanks for the advice though, will use when I ding 15.

Unless you can correct me.

hehe Smiley: grin here is a link to a thread mainly about using FoL

no, I wouldn't recommend using FoL for pulling. you may want to try it (but only, when soloing outdoor, e.g. east karana so you do not endanger your group). you will notice, that the mob will run aimlessly, until the spell wears off. when running around like a puppy, he might get his friends to join the fight...do you want that? it's up to you, but not really many peeps would recommend it I guess...

just checked the beastlords spell list...hmm...seems there are no offensive spells at lvl 9. you get sicken at lvl 15, which seems to be the first you can use to gain aggro (apart from FoL).

Yup. Don't use Flash of Light for pulling unless you're in for a gamble. You can use the spell Sicken at level 15 as someone commented before me, and when you grow up a little bit more you'll get slow (which may be a good one to pull with, having a chance to have the mob slowed before it reaches you, in contrast to trying to cast it in between of being stunned/interrupted when the mob is already bashing you).

They also get Blast of Frost which is less mana. Either will do at that level.
