Need advice on a class to playFollow

Okay, I'm running into a bit of a problem and would welcome advice on it. I've got several characters in the 50's, but would like to concentrate on one for a while to get him to 65 with a nice amount of AA's. Unfortunately, I'm learning that you can't really do that unless you either have one main character, or play eq more than you breathe. Since I don't enjoy suffering from a lack of oxygen, I'm choosing the first optionSmiley: smile

My problem is...which toon to concentrate on? I've got a 56 necromancer, 56 cleric, 55 paladin, 54 druid, 54 enchanter, and 50 warrior. I pretty much enjoy all my characters for different reasons, so it's tough for me to pick just one. My question is...given the same situation which character would you pick, and why?

Do the shaman. Oh you don't have one. Roll a shaman.

Seriously though, I would take the Pally myself, or maybe the chanter, necro or cleric. Druid would be ok too.

I'm sorry I asked a question looking for honest, thoughtful answers.

I guess trying to look witty is more important than actually trying to give advice.....

Having watched my guild shoot past me since my Son was born and my play time got reduced somewhat i have noticed that clerics seem to level faster than other classes, followed by Bards, Druids, necro's <Solo'ers i presume> And for some reason Beastlords.

But thats not the be all and end all right? just because they are faster to level doesn't mean you should do them first.

56 necro: easy to solo up and fun to boot
56 Cleric: Easist class in the game to get into groups and since you Cheal you get more xp aswell so you get to 65 faster but will be sat down alot untill you Mana Regen gets high enough for you to Melle with your Pet
55 Pally: from experiance hard to find groups and the thrill of pulling dies when mobs get above 55 Smiley: oyvey but fun as melee gets tence higher you get
54 druid: solo solo and more solo with a few group thrown in but at 54 if you don't like that you would have quit the druid by now right Smiley: smile
50 chanter: die more than any class in the game and are subject to annoying 'can you kei me' tells post 60 but do have the benefit of being the best class for tradeskills if you need a break.

I would go for the cleric because your never short of groups but thats because i play GMT and groups are hard to find.

necro definately, even though this is just my opinion as many people may not like necros and flame me because they are so stupid ;) i would do the necro. mainly becaise they are the best solo clas in the game. they can solo ALLMOST everything there is that can be feared...hehe, they are fun to play also. they dont even need equipment....they would be much better if had some but not required. so i would finish teh necro, and then if you decide to play one of the others or make a new character you can take your necro and go solo some good mobs for money to buy equip for that char or just for the loot to make money or give to your other char, you just have to watch out everywhere you go as ummmm "TIME TO DIE YOU PUNY LITTLE NECROMANSER!" YOU have ben hit by every guard in the game for # damage. Loading Please Wait ... at 65 you can pretty much take every guard tho..even multiples... its jsut a pain to find some good spot for a necro as KOS is a big problem and necro's arent that great to find groups.

if you want a number 2 choice or the next char to go with I would choose your clericm for the simple fact that they are the best group finders. a group has 2 clerics and 2 tanks ... now they got 3 and high level bufs good

I answer the way I do because it is a stupid question. It is all personal preference. My answer is the ranger or shaman, because these are my favorites. Why don't you research the demographics of level 65 characters and base your decision on that. Or why don't you just decide which one you like best and do that. I'm sure after 50+ levels of each character you understand the playing style that each class affords. SO just pick the one you like the best. You have to like one more than the others. Judging from the levels, I would guess the cleric and necro are your favorites. And since you listed the necro first, I would tend to think that this is the character that you will ultimately choose. Tell me I'm wrong!!!!

You're wrong Smiley: wink I'd say my favorites would be Paladin, enchanter, necromancer in that order. The problem is that at his current level it's getting kind of tough to solo on the paladin, and I know it's only going to get worse. The enchanter is EXTREMELY scary to solo with, and usually involves a lot of corpse runs. Necromancers for some reason almost never get groups on Tunare, so they're a heavy solo class. So there's drawbacks to whatever class I choose.

It may seem like a silly question to you, but it doesn't to me. I like to have more information and opinions than my own before I make a decision that I'm not completely sure about, and I do appreciate the advice I've been given so far in regards to itSmiley: smile

If you can swing it, have you ever considered 2boxing and transferring one of the accounts? A two box with the pally and cleric would be awesome!

Well then play your paladin if he is your favorite. I still think you will go with the necro, because of the soloing.

Actually Pally/Shaman would be awesome, you always need a slower at that level.

When you log on and meet up with your regular group mates, what class is usually the one missing? Or, in short supply and needed for what ever was planned for the session?

What ever it is, that is the one you should concentrate on.

Alternatively, for the next week, everytime you log on in your usual time slot, open up your LFG window and take note of which class is missing, or under represented.

Which ever it is, that is the one to play.

Third way, you say that probably the Pally is your true favourite. Log on for the next week in your normal time slot and immediately turn on LFG, go tot he window and enter LDoN please as your preference. Keep note of how long you have to wait for an invite. Then try it with your next favourite etc.

Which ever you choose stick at that one for at least 40 or so LDoN's.

The chances are that with so many 50's level characters that you haven't "plumbed" the depths of any of them yet and just palying them at a surface level. Put yourself to the test and see how good you can become at the finer points of one or the other of them.

Thanks for all the information and opinions everyoneSmiley: smile Turns out my guild made the decision for me, or at least what happened in my guild.

I have the second highest enchanter in the guild(I'm in a small, family oriented guild, most of us are in the 40's and 50's). well, we recently lost our third highest enchanter, and our highest enchanter decided to level her ranger. So I've kind of ended up with the highest active enchanter in the guild. Since I enjoy the enchanter anyways, so be it I'll work on that character.

Now if only what to major in could be decided so easilySmiley: smile
