I don't know that I've seen lightstones on any vendors, they drop off of will-o-wisps which are plentiful in North Karana and the west and east commonlands. They only take damage from magic weapon though, so make sure it has the magic tag on it. a lightstone will drop 99% of the time off of these will-o-wisps.

I don't know of any vendors that sell light stones. However you can probably buy them in the Bazaar. My wife and I both have some on our trader mules on The Rathe, and there are orthers that do also.

You can find allmost anything of value, that isn't no drop in the Bazaar.

I dont know what server you are on but I was selling some in the bazaar on Morden Rasp. In general though, most people who are killing wisps are doing it for the same quest so it can be hard to find them sold on a more mature server. Since you probably can get exp from them at the level that the quest is good, it may pay to go to West commons or the wisp island to solo a bunch to get some. You can check the vendors in the commons too to see if anyone just sold them.

Just a thought - one of the gypsie in NK might have some. Dont remember her name - but is the one you turn the lightstones into for the concordance of research - but I imagine they would be cheaper in the bazaar - also true enough to just go kill them with a magic weapon. They drop pretty good coin as well as the lightstones.

Are you sure you don't need greater lightstones for the quest? I am not familiar with it, but as I recall from my newbie days, lightstones off wisps in the Qeynos Hills were not no drop, but the greater lightstones were. Just a thought.

Yep, forgot about that, it is greater lightstones you need. You can still turn in Lightstones though and get something, but for the concordenance (sp?) you need the greater lightstone.

You get something that I allways used o sell back to the gypsy for plat. Was the most plat I'd made up untill then. But it's bee a couple of years and I don't remember what she gave for the lightstones - just that she would then pay plat to buy it back.

To get the concordanc you do have to turn in Greater Lightstones.

You will possibly find greater lightstones on vendors in the Jaggedpine Forest township. At the level people are killing the wisps there they may value bag space more than the few pp difference.

You will also usually find that the gypsies have them for sale as well.

I have found GLS and the LS on various and sundry npc vendors in my travels around Norrath. Only when they have been sold by players looting them from a wisp corpse however.
If you are talking about the GLS for the research book then the bazaar or merchants in qeynos hills may be your best chance.
They sell for 9p plus change and the book sells for a bit less IIRC. If you are high enough level to hunt NK just hang there until you kill a wisp and it drops.

No, vendors don't carry lightstones as part of their permanent inventory. They often have some that players have sold them. A Vendor charges about 11pp for a Greater Lightstone.

Regular Lightstone: When you turn them in to the gypsy vendor, she'll give you a research book (not the concordence). The books are grey and called "Runes and Research, Volume I and Volume II." They're just instructions on how to make practice runes for spell research skill ups.

Unless you're a spell researcher, you're better off selling your lightstone to a vendor for the 8-9 gp.

Greater Lightstone: Turn it in to the appropriate gypsy in exchange for a "Concordence of Research". This is a container so make sure you have an empty inventory slot! Sell the concordence back to her for about 9pp. This is only profitable if you're obtaining your GLSs for less than 9pp, obviously.

Is that what you're trying to figure out?

By the way, the name of the gypsy in Oasis who takes the Greater Lightstones is Synthan. I don't know the names of the gypsies in the other zones.
