Maybe if you have a monitor that is over 5 years old, but other than that, no more so than running a screen saver would stress your monitor. Switching 3d modes like that would actually put slightly more load on your video card, but not anywhere near enough to damage it even long term if you ahve it installed properly.

Dont think you will have a monitor problem either.. but along the same lines... when I alt shift into windows.. the eq environment is much darker and the eq graphic controls for brightness have no effect .. anyone else notice this?

Thats a Directx 9.0 problem. Its happened to me ever since I upgraded from 8.0. I just dont run in windowed mode any more.

Actually looked around for a fix for this the other day, couldn't see one... anybody else ?

The easy fix to the darkness problem is to use EQwindows. It fixes that issue.

Also - switching between full screen and windowed mode doesn't necessarily required a monitor mode switch. You need to make sure EQ runs in the same video resolution/refresh rate as your desktop. In that case MOST monitors switch between full and windowed mode without the monitor reset.

I have a question that fits here. My EQ is too low on my screen in windows mode, not much, about 1/2 inch and I can't move it no matter how I try. Asd soon as I get near the title bar to drag it, EQ grabs ownership of the cursor.

Kelti, what you need to do is click on the desktop or on the little panel at the bottom of the screen. That seems to clear that issue up when I get it. Seems like it remembers your last active window, and if you try to do anything with that window it just gives focus back to it, so having anything else set as the "last active window" solves it. At least, that is how it appears to work to me.
