1. Petition in game.

2. Go to the EQ site and "contact you GM" via email.

3. Continue praying

they seem to be ignoring me...have e-mailed 3 times and petitioned 3 times

Maybe it's because you can't spell and they're looking for "corps" (an organized subdivision of the military establishment) rather than your "corpse."

How long ago? With all the people playing the game, they can be stretched pretty thin.

In the meantime, start a new character and vow to NEVER allow your corpse (or corps, as the case may be) to decay again.

Greetings,

As you're finding out, customer service in EQ is a bit of a hit and miss affair (mainly miss, unfortunately) Smiley: disappointed

GMs and Guides tend to be in-game during peak US times, so if you're not a US resident, try to be in during that time.

Petitions are held in a queue, so if you petition it still may take a while to get to you, as it winds its way up to the top.

Persistence is the key here - keep petitioning until you get an answer. Also, keep mailing through the 'Contact your GM' link at the everquestlive.com website.

Now the bad news - it is EXTREMELY unlikely that you will get your stuff back. Smiley: cry Not impossible, no, but very very unlikely. What is more likely to happen is that you will be given what is called a 'leg-up' kit by a GM. This is a collection of equipment and some coin (appropriate to your level) to get you going again. Unless policy has changed recently, this is what happens in 99.9% of decayed corpse situations.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I really hope you are the exception to the rule - good luck whatever happens. Smiley: smile

I'm book-marking it Mike. It's the first time I can remember that you took a shot at someone. Even if it was from a small caliber slingshot. :)

Unfortunately, I believe they state in the rulebooks or something that they cannot get your stuff back for you once a corpse has decayed...so the chances of getting back the gear that you had are, sorry to say, slim to none. However, as someone mentioned, they may provide a leg-up kit to help you get going again.

Prevention is your best bet for the future...remember that you've only got 7 days to recover your stuff before your corpse decays. Even if you're desperately trying to get a rezz to regain lost experience, loot your corpse before then (and if you're dead set on getting that rezz, leave an insignificant item, like an arrow, on the corpse to hold it there).

If the problem is finding your corpse, then find a friendly neighborhood necro (or Sk at higher levels) to summon your corpse for you...simply group with them, provide them with a coffin (or reimburse them for it), and zone into the place you lost your corpse. They can summon the corpse right to their feet from anywhere in the zone, even if it was stuck in a wall.

I know that doesn't help this time around...so best of luck.
