Me again! weeee Smiley: yippee

Well thursday is early but it was a first for "Forgotten Nemesis" as we took on the HoH dragon 'Rydda'darr' and slew it first time.
'Lord Inquisitor Seru' then felt the fury of our nukes.

Friday was fun, quest night. Another guildie with an 8th shawl. SHD epic completed in CoM and then more backflagging with a PoS crawl and Bot key parts gathered.

Sunday saw another first for "Forgotten Nemesis". We had found the parts for the saryrn key but did not have the container so on we went. We completed the 'guts' event and gained our container and completed our saryrn key. It was then off to kill Saryrn herself which was flawless, not bad for another first attempt.

FN has the Golden touch Smiley: cool I blame all the success on the Ranger army hehe

My official re-application for the guild has started so biting my nails in anticipation.

Friday: Cable modem still broken, working intermittantly. was actually able to get online for at least a three hour stretch, so did some playing, although nothing involving any chance of death in a connection loss. Called cable company, they said "oops" and that it will be fixed for sure absolutly positive 100% by 8am local time on 23 February 2004.

Saturday: Again, was able to get online briefly, but not do anything interesting. Spent most of the afternoon sharpening my knife and sword collection.

Sunday: Internet down most of the day. spent time playing me vs computer Homeworld II missions. The computer lost. Also played Deus Ex II. is fun. needs multiplayer.

Monday: Cable modem will work, or I make the evening news...

We concentrated on getting most everyone flagged for Kod'Taz, Time rotation Sat-Sun.

More trials after Time last night, so glad we finished early.

Sunday morning I played hooky for a while and played my rogue in a pickup group. It was fun, not at all the nightmare I remembered pickups being. Got her halfway through 63 in a good, fast Tactics group. Oops, need to change the sig.

Heh, more cable problems here too Kao.

Friday night had babysitting duty so no gametime for me.

Saturday I had a tech scheduled to come look at my cable system, due to a "communication problem". Tech shows up 3 hours late (of course) and starts looking at my setup. Since this is the 3rd time a tech has come out to look, and that I've never had any problems on my end (well, one problem 2 weeks ago but that wasn't on my side), I knew all the connections were correct. But he proceeds to go through everything, switching out splitters and connectors and the whole 9 yards. End result? Not only is the box still not communicating, but the picture on the TV is now totally screwed up. So he decided to replace the actual cable box.

Well, that fixes the communication problem apparently (whatever that means) but the picture is still horrible. So he goes through (says maybe the new box doesn't like the changes he's done with the connections - yeah right) and re-replaces everything. That fixes the picture, but when he leaves and I jump online to test my "New improved 3.0 speeds - twice as fast", guess what - no connection.

I'm sure it something screwed up in the connection, so I went to mess with it to figure it out, and the cable tv goes out - again. Deciding not to risk the wrath of a wife without TV for the weekend, I call the cable company and schedule a new appointment to have them come fix their ***** up.

Grr...no internet is teh suxxors.

Friday - After a 300 mile drive back from Scotland I was too tired to play. Went to a local hostelry, and through recreational alcohol misuse, managed to remove most of my higher faculties Smiley: boozing

Saturday - Spent a few hours evicting a troupe of clog-dancing elephants from inside my head and made note to self "The 7th pint of Guinness is the time to go home"
Got better and levelled my baby beastlord to 35.
Watched England's Rugby team wipe the floor with Scotland Smiley: smile
Evening - Made that guinness mistake again Smiley: drunk

Sunday - Took the Beastlord to Nadox. Unding to 34. Spent an hour in PoK and elsewhere buying all spells to 39. Back to Gunthak and re-ding 35.

Monday - RL Employer Faction Quest. Smiley: frown Was surprised to see a few changes since going on vacation just a week ago. A few guys have Dinged a level :- Mostly good news, but it's quite clear that "the guy nobody likes" has been twinked and PL'd to even greater levels of status and unpopularity.

Friday - Did bandit camps in PC for the first time. Wife, and I did it together, was quite a lot of fun. Hit level 20 and did the booyaa LDoN dance.

Saturday - Did my first LDoN and was so damn impressed and was more sold on the game then I ever have been. Was so much fun. Also hit PC to level up to 23. Did some trade skill farming, hit the bazaar and made 100 plat :D

Sunday - LDoN times two. The second one was on the Hard setting. We came short 10 of the 55 monsters we had to kill. The xp was insane though and my wife managed to get a rare drop helmet :D I ding 24, and WOLF FORM! (Wolf form is something I've wanted to do since beta heheh).

All and all a great weekend of EQing it up. I'm pulling ahead of the people in my group now though so I have to slow down, probably gonna create an alt to toy with :)

Just did stupid crap all weekend. Farmed some stuff that I could have probably bought for less effort like a Shadel Bandit ring. Was passing through Mons Letalis and killed the Spire Lord hoping for the sword. Got the cloak. Damn Spire Lord.. so then I killed him again. Another cloak. Four cloaks and a crown later, still no sword. I don't even NEED the sword for anything, I'm just pissed he won't give it to me. Got the +5% research cap for my little mage and a Tarsus bracer for my rogue. Then I noticed my gimp EQ map pack didn't have Mons Letalis mapped so I mapped the entire zone. Told ya I did stupid crap all weekend Smiley: grin

Ran an adventure on my rogue and one on my mage. It's nice to play and not have to be puller sometimes.

No EQ at all for me all weekend as well.

Saturday:
Bust out the remainder of the touch of nectar paint and finsh off painting our stairwell and upstairs loft area. Two coats in some areas, ceiling too! Started around 11am and finished around 7pm.

Sunday:
Wake up and can barely move due to sore back and arms from all the overhead painting on Sat. Manage to somehow get my body unkinked enough to take the family to the Baby Extravaganza at the Austin Convention Center. Not being a regular downtown visitor we were shocked by the $7 parking fee coupled with the $5/head admission to the Extravaganza. Too bad we head on the radio about printing out our own free admission tickets online after we were halfway there. Once we get inside we discover $5/ hotdog/ burger concessions charges and all the booths are photography booths or really small baby blankets/clothes that use local fabric store fabrics that my wife could make for 1/3 the cost. The 2 inflatable bouncy tents are packed with 5+ yr olds that bounce too much for our 14mo to go in. Overall the Extravaganza is a waste of time and money. Head to the Cheesecake Factory for a decent meal, and then stop next door at a bookstore to let the 14mo old run around in the childrens section and have a blast. Get home and we all crash for the night.

Overall a busy weekend but no EQ for us.

Dinged 58 this weekend. Had lots of fun, even after half my server went LD and the GMs claimed that it was a problem on our end. However, the best part was this crazy LDoN I did yesterday, one of the most unique adventures I've ever done.

The party makeup was myself (Beastlord, 57 at the time), Ranger, Druid (58 or 59, with his "cheesy complete heal" as he called it), Magician, Necromancer, and Wizard. We had the healing power, and I was the MT (Temperance and self-buffed, 3200 hp). However, crowd control was nearly non-existant, even in a Mistmoore dungeon. We thought the necro could pacify...but he wasn't allowed to cast on any of the mobs. And we got the dungeon where the first 2 rooms each had 8 mobs in them. We tried to pull from the first room, and got 4 mobs. Zone...

So, we had to improvise. The Druid (who had leadership points on, and deserved all the exp he was putting there) suggested that all the casters put up their AE spells and we just pull and blast away. The necro would mez what he could...that spell worked, at least. We went back in (with 15 minutes wasted so far on a 24 collect), and tried it...and amazingly enough, it worked! Very little healing was even required on that pull, the AE spells brought them down so fast! After that we were able to pull mostly singles or doubles, and with our dps everything went down very fast. After that we finished our Collect with 20 minutes to spare. And after we won, we found 2 named mobs, one of which dropped some Piercing claws which I got by NGB (even though it could be used by almost every class, no one else wanted it, and it was an upgrade to my Crystalline Spider Fang) and some set of Drums, which was rolled on after the adventure.

I personally still am amazed by that adventure. Average levels in the high 50's, no cleric, no dedicated crowd control, no "real" main tank...and we still did fine. We had the AE blast tactic...at one point on a double-pull the mage, necro, druid and I all sent our pets at one mob while I cast slow on the other to pull it, and by the time my mob went down the other one was at 40% health or so (and only the druid's pet died, for some reason).

Other than that, I got into a PoV Outer camp kiting group that was actually fun to be in, and tried to duo Old Sebilis with a 58 bard. It would have gone very well if my KEI hadn't run out, I think...as it was, I had to use my Thurgadin Gate to teleport out after which he ran for the exit. We made 450 pp and 2% exp off of 15-20 minutes, though, so we are definitely planning on trying again with perhaps a healer along. Or at least a little better planning on pulling...we were so worried about pops behind us (since that place respawns so fast) that we weren't as careful as we should have been. But with the bard's resist the shamans and wizards were basically helpless...even the one enchanter we ran into had to cast Slow on my about 10 times before it landed.

Anyway, that's all I have to say.

Game on,

The Oneiromancer

Jewelcrafting 199, Brewing 199, Baking 199, Fletching 199, Pottery 180, Smithing 132, Tailoring 30ish

Ouch...

Now I need to make the decision of if I want to persue Smithing or Tailoring next. Pottery is easy but wrist numbing even with the new UI 90 Combines (counting subcombines) per skill up=not fun. I am just getting into the expensive part with Smithing and Tailoring looks like its gonna be expensive all the way.

Then I have to decide which skill to take to 250, decisions decisions....

Dinged 48 this weekend.

Started off Friday at 45 in Gunthak soloing the undead mobs of course I had to get KEI after a jolly fellow called out "Black Medalion" and I was able to complete my Ethereal Cleansing quest. Wow what a spell and with KEI I was pretty much able to go non-stop on most everything on the beach. I would add guild members to my party when available for more fun.

Saturday still in Gunthak but pretty far into 46 and a few of the undead are now con green but I am still making decent xp and decent pp so decide to tough it out for a bit and dinged 47 around 11AM EST. Left Gunthak found out I had racked up almost 350 pp and decided to do a Ldon while waiting for other guild members to get on. Ldon goes successfully and while doing Ldon others log on and want to go to The Hole. Luckily we were almost done and I was able to join group. I had never been to The Hole and found it mucho fun. It was me, 47 BL, 52 Dru, and 52 Rng. At the end I was about 3 1/2 bubbles into 47, too bad I got tired, I liked that place.

Sunday woke up no other guildies on my lvl on so I played a recent SK alt I had created for a bit. At about 2PM I decided to check the Ldon camps to see if I could get in an adventure, bam right away woot. I get one blue bubble away from 48 and say no way am I gonna log off for the day without being 48. I trudge my way back to Gunthak Beach to see if there are any mobs that will still give me xp because I get decent pp to pay for KEI. I sigh in joy when there are still light blue mobs and even a couple dark blues. I ding 48 in about 45 minutes and log off to watch various Law & Order series as they come on with Cold Case thrown in as a bonus.

Since we had no kids this weekend and I'm going off with the guys skiing in Colorado next weekend, I pampered my wife all weekend long! My EQ action consisted mostly of setting up my trader in the bazaar and letting him sit there.

Otherwise - wonderful rainy relaxing weekend: movies, massages, Irish pub for drinks, dinner, and music... Slept in Sunday till 10:45 (unheard of for me - 8 am is LATE) - she woke up at 11:15, planning on going to church. Oops!
