The stealing thread made me think of this one.
Begging-my skill is over 150, and I do it once per fight at least (someone told me I needed it, which I seriously doubt now, but it has become habit). I have never been successful.
Have any of you ever begged anything?
Is there some purpose for the begging skill, say a quest?

I have a begging skill of 186 (I tagged it on to kick). The most I have ever begged is 1 silver piece. I personally think this skill is entirely worthless and the Vision behind it, if there ever was one, is completely lost. I have heard rumors of it increasing the hate generated though, but I don't think that's true.
I would beg from the farmers in East Karana every time I saved them from a lion, and they would still stiff me. No gratitude I guess.
I think with a high enough begging skill one can beg weapons and armor from pets. For instance, if I'm hunting in a group and the group decides to go one or two zones over,I can get my pet's swords back to give to my next pet.
