Leadership experience and the UIFollow

#1 Feb 12 2004 at 3:10 AM Rating: Decent
Hi - I was getting leadership experience last night and have 2 questions:

1) Can I turn it off so that all exp goes into AAs if I want to

2) How do I see how much leadership exp I have - I cannot find it anywhere in the UI - is there a new window I have not found yet? I am not using a custom UI.

You can open the leadership window by pressing 'L' on your keyboard. You should find everything there, including ON/OFF buttons.

Beware, I found out I have problems with those buttons. I turned Leadership exp OFF (several times already), but after logging off and logging back in it is back at the ON state.

Marisha, it sounds like your UI file has "ON" as the default start up state for your Leadership window.

I'm not the best person to explain this. Maybe someone else would be so kind?

Oh, I know what you mean, Yanari :)
I'm not unfamiliar with the xml and ini files.
I'll check later today if I can find some 'default' setting anywhere.

Okay the file for the leadership window itself is under directory unifiles/default

EQUI_LeadershipWnd.xml
EQMI.xml

Thats for the XML file.

Okay now under the EQ directory you have the following files that have to do with Leadership window:

UI_yourname_server.ini

Hope that helps

I was going to post a question on Leadership and saw this previous post, so I will post it here. Has anyone actually used the Leadership points? What impact do they have on the group?

My 45 chanter (44 at the time) did 2 LDONs on Saturday and kept getting two experience messages - one for Leadership and normal one for experience. Last night, the beserker in group asked to be leader as he was working on points, so I asked him how to check and hence found alt-L to bring it up (was about 80% of the way to leadership point from 2 night before). Since I am not doing AA yet, no reason to turn it off (someone said they had gotten leadership on another toon in their 30s?) but I am curious to see for those who have the points what impact it has - saw one that said something about chance casters in the group will have increased mana for example in between mezs in LDON.

Thanks.

If you're not interested in the Leadership Abilities you need to turn them off if you're the leader - the default is set to "on".

Also, as I understand it, 20% of your experience goes into Leadership if it is on.

Thanks for the response ginerdar, didnt know that part of regular exp went to Leadership. Good to know since I often put group together if one not started. Still curious to hear from someone who has accumulated the points and used them for feedback.
