Wife's Bard loves the Tribute systemFollow

#1 Feb 11 2004 at 9:15 PM Rating: Decent
The bard instrument tribute buffs seem to count as holding an instrument for songs that require them. My pallies happy since that means I get Cantata of Soothing instead of clarity now (No epic for her yet)

Seem to give around a 15%-20% bonus per tier. Percussion dot with nothing did 18 damage in /duel, 21 with tier 1 and 25 with tier 2.

I don't know if this is related, but I was getting instrument skill increases without holding an instrument.

I was playing selo's while holding two weapons, and my Percussion went up. Same with the healing song, and my stringed went up.

I figure this is some kind of error in the patch that will be fixed soon.

I doubt it is related to the tribute system since I have not yet got the G.O.D expansion.

Heh.. that used to be a bug way back in the way. I remember I had just gotten my Flameweaver from the first big Halloween event and then started getting instrument bonuses. I thought my Flameweaver must have counted as an instrument, but it was just a gamewide bard bug. Took them maybe a month to fix it, during which I did lots of fear kiting and actually got my brass skill maxxed for my level.

suck that you have to go back to your HOME city and rebuff with them tho. plus if you lose your group or you have to sit waiting LFG, your timer is ticking down.

on the flipside, people are buying all the lowbie crap gear off my mule to hand in for tribute pts. made 7589pp yesterday in less than 2 hours. smart move by sony to move some of that old crap out of the game.

We hadn't sold yet from our hunting in Dulak Harbor for her aria of... something ... song (The cure poison/disease song) and were loaded with shivs (1150 favor points), broken bottles (800 or so) and forged weapons (800).

Turning all the junk from 3-4 hours of hunting there netted us each around 15k favor points, enough to run 5 Tier 3 or 4 favors each for about 20 hours. Running out of points isn't really going to be a big problem unless you stand around doing nothing alot. (Which we do, so occasional trips to the NPC for us)

Unless they nerf this stuff anyway.

The EQ (Lucy) Item Collector tells you the tribute values of items you have looked at in-game. Greater Lightstones give 20 favor points each. That was the biggest I seen in the log, as far as I could scroll back in it, the log size is pretty limited.
