I stumbled across this EQ command while looking up how to manage my chat channels. The description is:

/guildwar <guild leader name> <1-14>

Allows the guild leader to challenge or accept another guild in a guild war along with the length of the war in days. Both guild leaders must execute the command.

What exactly does this do? Do the members of guilds at war have the ability to attack one another as if they were on a PvP server? Does anyone have any experience with this?

It's supposed to put you at war with the other guild as if you were opposing teams on a PVP server. However, it's been broken essentially forever.

I tried this command with two leaders of two guilds on my pc, and neither could accept the challenge. I /petitioned and customer service said that this feature is indeed broken and the ETA of a fix is not known. Considering it's rumored to have been broken since soon after launch, I'm going to assume it won't be getting fixed. Too bad.

Wow this made me go into nostalgia mode. Had almost completely forgotten about guild wars in eq. Remember back in the day my guild used to be at war all the time and have battles with other guilds! So much fun! :)
