Located on the northern coast of Kunark. An outpost in the northwestern region is occupied by Dark Elves who have aligned themselves with Venril Sathir.

At night, Dragoons can be seen patrolling the paths. Sarnaks, plantlife, and wildlife roam all throughout The Overthere while the scorpikis can be found in and around the massive chasm leading to Charasis.

The Mudpit has been mentioned on this board as place for good races to buy and sell. Where is it, as I can't see it on EQatlas?

One of my favourites activities before i log is to pull with bow 1 mob like a tiger or a sarnak knight, and bring it for a little visit inside the outpost.
Once Golem avoided, you can introduce it to captain Rotgrime, the evils vendors or even better dveers himself who make short work of it.

Very entertaining -)

The Ledge is the area just before the Frontier Mountains Zone. It's and indentation high up on the side of the hill, making a nice little ledge so you can see pulls every easily.

# Dec 25 2001 at 12:14 AM Rating: Decent
Evil-alignment players who think the outpost is safe should know there is an NPC, Alchemist Granika, an iksar, who hangs out on the outside (east side) of the evil outpost north-south- running wall between the gap in the wall and the water. He will aggro just about anything, and is in the mid 20's, not a prob for many who come here but he did kill me at lvl 19 (troll shammy) and the golems and guards etc just laughed. Ouch. Unfortunately I thought they would help me and I thus trained him on another unsuspecting player in the bank, whence I ran and where I was bound. I was lucky he sauntered off after killing me, because of course I was reborn there, which did make looting my sad corpse easy, but had he still been there I woulda got in a death spiral. For this reason the bank is probably not so good a place to bind.
RE: alchemist Granika
# Feb 08 2002 at 7:19 PM Rating: Excellent
He is triggered for the Greenmist quest with a very rare and expensive item. If you see him up stay away from him and let the Iksar get to him to complete his quest. If you kill him you will get nothing and cost the Iksar up to 5kpp.

# Dec 04 2001 at 3:52 AM Rating: Decent
Ok folks I scored a nifty little key that was a ground spawn. Its called "The One Key " Lore Item No Drop. Loc is neg190.64, neg 384.25, neg 205.03. Hint youll need a levitate to get to it. Couldnt find it listed under 'quest items' List thus I guess its still unfinished. I love keys. Hopefully I can open some lootage with it. or get to a Unpopulated zone where I can live the rest of my EQ life in bliss.

Any info would be groovy. Thanks.

Please advise on any method of repairing this faction. :(

I can bank, but am at the bottom end of dubious, I can't sell here anymore, and my Bevelonce spell still leaves me at dubious. Is the only way to wait for the next alliance spell and hope that it's enough?

Thank you.

Coddington's First Two Days in Kunark
# Nov 26 2001 at 10:18 AM Rating: Good
Hiya!

I'd only tried Kunark once (never venturing further than the Goblin Tower) and decided to come back. So I packed my bags, got my next two sets of spells, got my Mage Focus Item and hopped the boat.
My first day was spent trying to solo the Frontier Mountains and not getting anywhere. All those towering peaks looked the same (easy since I don't top five feet) and there were waaay too many wandering mobs. The second half of Day One was spent grouping at the Giant Fortress. They all CON'd blue to me and it seemed nobody was willing to chance pulling anything bigger. I was told that I'm kinda on the "high side" for this zone, but the Giants drop the Holy Grail of the zone...the Forest Loop. Spent alot of time grouping and having a good time socially killing Giants. The loot was ok, but the XP crawled (maybe a yellow buble or two). It seemed like I was back in High Pass Hold, only more agoraphobic and the mobs were expontentially bigger. I got a decent 2H Blunt weapon, but since I'm a Mage and all my friends are a continent away, I sold it. No Forest Loop and was starting to think my /random command was broken since I always lost.
Day Two was spent in The Overthere. Wow, what a difference! I found a group within two minutes of shouting, the mobs ranged from blue to red and the loot was the same as next door. I played less in The Overthere yet got more XP. The only problem is that I have to either try banking in the OT port (fat chance) or leg it back to FV. I suppose I could either ask some kindhearted Dark Elf (?) to bank for me or port to a friendly city.

In review, here's my advice:
Always walk around a bit when in a new zone to get a feel for it and make sure you know where the exit is. Disorientation is a Bad Thing!
Don't over loot. Apologies to my group if I seemed to loot waaay too much.
Finally, Agoraphobia is the fear of wide open places. Just in case you were wondering. :)

Im a iksar sk lvl 22 and i supposedly got 2 choices OT and LOIO i already know i dont like LOIO very much so i am thinking of tryin OT a couple questions though. Are Iksar sk kos there? ppl keep talking abut good outposts and bad outposts well if anyone could give me any insight on where these are id appreciate it. where should i hunt and where is that place i heard about mudpits where are those though? ummm i think that is all. ty
RE: iksar sk
# Dec 02 2001 at 5:58 PM Rating: Decent
I assume that your were asking about being KOS in the outpost, not to the mobs. And the answere is yes. Iksar's are kos at both the good oupost in FV and the evil outpost in OT. Its not to big of a deal however, because its only a short run through Warsilik Woods to get to West Cabilis if you need to bank.

RE: iksar sk
# Nov 27 2001 at 12:30 PM Rating: Decent
Your Iksar SK should be fine in OT. It's the best zone I've found for soloing between 16 and 27--reason is that at in the lower-lvl parts of the zone, most mobs (even when they con 'scowl, ready to attack' etc.) don't aggro. The exceptions are the Sarnak Flunkies and Conscripts that wander around, and the higher Sarnaks that hide in ruins.

Anyway, I took my Troll SK from 21 to 26 here, and I'm now taking a Barb shaman rapidly through 16, and will probably keep him here till 19 or more. So what if it's boring--the game really opens up once a char gets out of the teens. The Iksar merchant at the Mudpit sells to my 'good' Barb, so food etc. isn't a problem. But lemme tell ya--this barb hasn't leveled this fast since 1-5 back in Halas.

End of long message.
KOS at Outpost ?
# Nov 25 2001 at 2:24 AM Rating: Decent
my erudite wizard of solusek ro was NOT Kos at the outpost and could bank and sell. He checked all the MOBS at the outpost and they ALL were non-KOS.

I heard the same for humans, that would mean ONLY GOOD RACES are KOS (elves, halflings ..) and not the NEUTRAL RACES (erudite, human ...).

Makes it a lot easier at lvls 14-18 if you can run to the golem for help. check it out and Con him from far. If your ok with him you are ok with all of the MOBS in my experience.

yep, the ERU/WIZ of Sol Ro not being KoS makes sense... go look at a walk through for the wizard epic and you'll figure out why... on another note, is it REALLY TRUE that an agnostic human monk can walk through here unaccosted? i'm thinking about taking mine to OT, but it isn't gonna happen if the inhabitants of this place aren't gonna at least nod in my direction.

hunting to lvl
# Nov 01 2001 at 7:16 PM Rating: Default
I got a few suggestions for lvling but also a few questions on it to... I have a 51 druid and know where you should fight and where not to... cb is a nice place to go starting at lvl 8 for a good 10lvls till 18 you get great faction bank near and pretty good $ with cb belts and pads... once you are r 19 druids go to lavastorm ent kill that one gaurd good exp and so easy... if u r going fast pick up stone guardians u have a zone right there if you get in trouble.20-25 other classes that cant solo should go to aviaks till 25 which u then kill gnolls till 30. also if u wanna go to a fine a good cash drop no great items but fs ect and wanna have bank and merchants near you go to pickclaws basment you can go here from 20-35 i did 19-36 in 2weeks playing only few hours a day...BTW dont get sucked in FM giants may have some loot but exp sucks... now this is the trick one... now i really could use help for a good place for 35-40 lvling with a warrior if you can help please leave a message in these posts will check every week or so... thanks and i hope i was usefull

nope, it's in the Keep. My rogue went 19-31 in the Keep fighting the goblin room to 25 and both the warrior and raider room to 31. The GR loot is usually rusty stuff with the occasional fine steel. The WR and RR drop mostly fine steel - good loot, good exp, and very convenient to run up the stairs and have the bank right there (also bindable). Evil races are KoS so beware.

You can bind just inside the wall on the east side of the outpost. Go along the bach until you hit the wall. Then swim out and around the wall, staying close to it. When you get to shore you will be in a little corner. Lighties bind there.

Last night, I was doing solo around the pit and fell in there. I saw a bunch of scorpions walking around. In panic I started running around in my wolf form. Nothing seemed to agro on me, so I sat and tried to memorize the gate spell to gate back to my bind point. That's when I got attacked by one of the scorpions and died. Does anyone have any tips as to how to get my corpse back?. Will I be attacked by those scorpions if I go down there and try to loot my corpse? Thanks for your help.

RE: corpse run
# Sep 23 2001 at 7:22 PM Rating: Default
I'm just guessing, but probably wolf form is not KOS to them. But when you went to med, you became KOS. Go back in and drag your corpse out, or loot it and port out. Con them first in wolf form to make sure they are indifferent. No matter how green something is they always attack me if I'm medding, mobs that normally would not. Probably what happened her.

Overthere Overview
# Sep 09 2001 at 9:37 AM Rating: Default
Ok, I've been hunting in Ot for quite some time starting by the WW's zone at around 24. Nothing will aggro on this side but Sarnak and exp is great. The Iksar npc sells food, water, throwing kinves and arrows but the prices in this zone are high. Evils can bind at the Outpost where there is a bank and vendors but again prices are double what they'd be anywhere else. Spells can also be bought here. On the FM zone side, mobs are higher and aggro and for non evils the guards patrol at night so be careful and stick close to the zone. This is a great place for kiting and some decent though rare drops can be found.

Evil races can take the raft from Oasis to Ogre Isle then catch the boat to Outpost. Good races can also do this however beware of the Ogres if you are fairly low level. After zoning into Overthere jump off the boat and swim to shore. Head left to zone wall and you will be on the lower mob side of the zone. Hoep this helps. Good luck -)

Raise faction...?
# Sep 03 2001 at 9:45 PM Rating: Default
Hey, sorry if this sounds dumb, but i've been wondering, is it possible for goodies to raise faction with the Evil Outpost here, or the Ogres in Timourous Deep enough to be non-KOS in either place? Like are there any quests you can do or things you can kill to raise these factions? Are there even factions for these guys, or do they just kill good and like evil, period.
RE: Raise faction...?
# Sep 08 2001 at 1:39 PM Rating: Default
Yes there is a way to raise faction with the people in the city but all the mobs you haev to kill to do it are lvl 55 and over.
