Located on the northern coast of Kunark. An outpost in the northwestern region is occupied by Dark Elves who have aligned themselves with Venril Sathir.

At night, Dragoons can be seen patrolling the paths. Sarnaks, plantlife, and wildlife roam all throughout The Overthere while the scorpikis can be found in and around the massive chasm leading to Charasis.

I have a 24lvl Necro - Human, I went to the Overthere and 99.9% of creatures were RED to me, so how can these lower levels hunt there? I saw one creature that was dark blue, I barely kilked it and it killed my skeleton. I like to solo and would like to know why some people think this is a great zone.

I have a DE Necro and think OT is a great place to hunt. What you want to do is hunt the Northern part of the zone by the ocean. There is a sharp jump in creature level just to the South. There are some ruins just south of the outpost, make a line from those, to edge of the canyon to a big statue holding a sword by the WW zone. Stay north of that line and you should be all right. Look for rhinos, pricly and barbed succulents and stonepeep and stonegazer cockatrices. Watch out for Sarnak (esp flunkies who have no loot) which will aggro on you and sabertooths (who are also worth fighting, sell excellent quality sabertooth hide in the bazaar for 75pp+) as they will aggro. Sarnaks and tigers will also wander by and help out other Sarnaks and tigers...

Leave the outpost by the northernmost exit (by the book) and just keep walking you should find some good hunting.

Depending on where in the zone you are hunting the level ranges will differ. From zoning from pok, if you go to the right you will be running into high to mid-level mobs. All of which can be found all the way to the zone to FM. But if you go to the left from the pok book, or even straight ahead you will find mobs that are much lower. This is an easy place for a necro to hunt. I'm an enchanter and when i feel like soloing i've hunted this place from earlier 30's (skipping the greenies near WW entrance) and still get darkblues at 46.

I arrived here last night as a 21st enchanter. If you look at the EQ Atlas map, in the upper right (NE) corner of the map there's a little spit of land jutting out into the water. I'm camped right before that. I've been seeing nothing but dark blues, it's great, I hope to reach 24th here! Highly recommended!

I have been hunting in The Ot since level 19 and am presently a lvl 24 Ranger. Here are some observations that may allow you to stay alive longer when you're there.

1) If you enter from the PoK, DON'T GO TO THE RIGHT!! Unless of course you happen not to be KoS there. Cliffy will stomp you into so much mush and the goons (Dragoons), will spit on the mush and then throw dirt on it. Good for summon corpse practice though. In general, stick to the shoreline and head East if you're alone and unsure of how you'll fare.
2) Rhinos & Cockatrices: Rhinos are great XP plus drop up to 1pp 6gp+, and if you loot a horn, it sells for 3pp+. Hooves are junk unless you have a class-specific quest (only 1 that involves this item I think). Stonepeeps are easier to kill than Stoneglints and tend to drop beaks more often, which sell for 1pp+. Lime plumes are junk unless you have a specific quest as above. Remember to stay away from the entrance to the Outpost.
3) Critters will disappear into the ocean or walk out of it. You can track em, you just can't see em and I'm not brave enough to swim after em.
4) Watch out for the gathering of Sarnaks that are in line between the entrance to Warsliks and the Outpost. Flunkies and Conscripts wander around but there are 3-4 higher level guys camped out in the ruins (very bad karma).
5) Until or unless you are supremely confident, stay away from the South of the Outpost. Most, if not all, critters that hang out there are higher levels than out to the East (yes even the Sabretooth Tigresses con red).

I have gone up 5 levels in about 36 real-time hours soloing here so I highly recommend it.

Yes, you'd be KOS. The Outpost is patrolled by Dark Elves, so if you're KOS in Neriak, it's a safe bet you're KOS here. Trolls, Orges, Dark Elves are safe. I'm not 100% sure about evil humans, gnomes, and Erudites, but I think they are also welcome here.
VS faction and OT hammer
# Feb 19 2003 at 11:53 AM Rating: Decent
So I have my Worker's Sledgemallet and my faction is still around warmly at the OT outpost, so it's all good. If I go to KC or Howling Stones and wreck my VS faction, will I gain aggro from anything mean on port in? There are some green skeletal workers around the boat, but the Undead Foreman is just south of me and he would roll me. Could someone who has experience with this please give me some insight. I am reluctant to give up easy use of my hammer since with PoP it gives me near instant access to PoK. Oh, I'm a warrior so FD tactics need not be mentioned. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Yes, you will aggro and be killed when you port in unless you can sneak and hide from boat. Best not to get below apprehensive.

Faction Issues
# Jan 17 2003 at 8:01 PM Rating: Decent
OK, I'm a DE SK and I recently went to Kunark for the first time. When I got to the 1st island with the ogres on it, I met up with somebody and started killing some of the Ogres (raiders and such). Now, I only killed like 6 or 7 of these guys b4 somebody told me that I shouldn't be killing them because of their direct faction to the Overthere Outpost. Luckily, since I had only killed 6 or 7 of the Ogres my faction for them (abd the Outpost) only went down to "dubious". Lucky, because even though they won't trade with me, they won't attack me, and I can get to the bank to drop off coin weight and loot.

My question is really whether or not I'll ever be able to raise my faction with the Outpost again while I'm at this low of a level. I know I can turn in braids to the Capt. but the Bezerkers are like minimum level 30(maybe higher?) Is there anything around the low 20's range that I can kill to regain my faction? I don't think it should be that hard, but any way possible for me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Killing Sarnaks will improve your faction with the outpost guards but not with the other residents of the outpost.

Have had a few ppl tell me that by killing enough Sarnaks in OT that they've been able to go into the outpost and by carefully conning do business but I haven't tried that one yet.

The Braids are the only known way to increase faction witht he outpost, and VS. If you ever goto KC, be aware that you decrease faction there too.

I have a 37 Barbarian warrior alt who worships Zek. He is currently KoS to the goons. If I am right, there is no way ever to raise this faction, correct? Replies appriacted.

EDIT: Nm, there are 5 or so dragons that would need killing to get non-kos here, and by that time, I won't care for OT outpost faction.

How to find out if your kos
# Oct 08 2002 at 2:37 PM Rating: Good
Just a little info, humans who are aganostic can enter the evil outpost in this zone. I'm not sure about other aganostic races, but from what I've read, aganostic dwarfs and vah shirs are kos. Now to find out if your kos or not, simply take the raft that's in Oasis to timorus deep, run straight ahead untill you see ogers, con them from afar and see if they glare or scowl at you. They are on the same faction as the outpost in the OT. If you start out kos and you want to raise it, I'm not sure how since you can't hand things in while invis anymore, and I'm not sure if wolf form would work.

Me and my friend came here from cabilis. we are both iksars(i am a necro(lvl 15) he is a shammy(lvl 14)). is there anyway to make it so that we are not kos here anymore?

when we first entered i thought we weren't kos but i found out shortly that we are when i had a mob aggroed on me and went to the golem for assistance and he hit me once and killed me. :(
luckly my friend saw me die and he ran to the zone to warsliks before he got killed. then got on his lvl 40 warrior and dragged my body back to the zone to WW so that i could loot it.

if there is a way to raise faction please let me know.
also is there a way to get past the golem and into the town will we be able to trade?

i was also wondering if maybe we tried to go invis would that work? would we be able to trade the beads to the guy and raise our faction that way? or could the shammy transform into the bear form and i go into skele would that work as well?

plz reply to this so we can find out before we try it and die :(

people say they are agnostic when they are discussing faction because it can make a difference. even if you have good faction with an npc they may still hate you because of your religion, so being agnostic may help.

it's true the npc's can't see the /who list,
but your religion isn't on the /who list anyway,
and i can tell you for SURE that the npc's know if they don't like your religion.

There's a safe binding spot for good races in The Overthere. It can be a little tricky to get to, though.

If you look at the map on EQAtlas.com, at the outpost, you'll see a long stone wall that looks like an upside-down T jutting out into the water to the north. If you swim around that and get to the outpost side, there's a tiny bit of land right above the cross of the T. If you swim there, and stay RIGHT by the water (and I mean that, don't go up the beach, or you'll get killed,) you can get bound there, since it's considered to be part of the outpost, and therefore a bind spot.

Just be careful going there. At the two large gaps in the wall, there's a giant cliff golem that wanders back and forth. If that thing even catches a glimpse of you and goes agro, consider yourself dead. Also be careful of the place at night, because of the wandering dragoons.

You can be bound on the other side of Sky Fire zone. Also at the mouth of Fronteir Mountains and entrance to Warsliks Woods. There are others near the outpost for people who want to try it or those who are not KOS.

While killing druids would be fun, what you have to kill are the Sarnak Berzerkers.

These drop Sarnak War Braids which you turn into the foreman for some experience, a POS shield and Venril Sathir faction.

OK, I have only been here for an hour of playing time. So far, myself (31 warrior), my wife (31 paladin) and a 34 warrior friend have gained more than a blue with almost constant pulls of cockatrices, sarnak knights, succulents and sabretooth tigers. We haven't even gotten a CHANCE at the rhinos yet. The hardest fight we had was to take down a 37th level sarnak knight. On Veeshan server there were also constant ooc's asking for group members. As a paladin, you should group with a healer and a tank if you can. The usual thing. Stun, Yaulp and whack away. If you have a 2hs, let the warrior keep aggro and you get the big hits.

Ok, I didn't answer your first question...Where? That one is easy. All that we did in the first hour was easily accomplished within sight of the Frontier Mountain zone. The so-called "Ledge" or "Shelf" is right there. You can pull from the ruins right on the road. There were so many critters we couldn't begin to take them all. What the Air Force calls a "target rich environment." Hope this gives you an idea of how good the OT is.

Iksar now will be KOS at outpost forever, faction does not count. Shadow Knight Epic quest starts there. I'm currently trying to find away around this new game change.

You can ask someone to bind you on inside wall near dock. No one will get you there. Best time is when boat arrives, as casters are exiting and entering zone and are there anyway.
