As of May 2008, you can teleport to the Plane of Sky via the Guild Hall portal (Cloudy Stone of Veeshan) or get a port from Relm M`Loch in the Plane of Tranquility.

In the alternative, a wizard can cast their Alter Plane Sky spell to port up a group. Once in this plane, you cannot levitate, gate, or use any sort of evacuation spells (with the exception of the Alter Plane spell which still works).

The only way out is to jump off. Upon doing so, you will fall safely to the water near the docks of East Freeport, (provided you don't hit another island below you and die as a result). This is a one-way trip, obviously. You can get CoH by a mage and use fellowship fires however.

Level 46 is required to enter the zone.

Thanks, that was handy when I was up there farming Ranger epic drops on Monday: I'd completely forgotten which mobs we had to kill, other than that they were on the Pegasus island :).

Isle 6 Bazaat: Invis up and run to the pad on the other side of the big gear. Only 3 mobs on this Isle – easiest so far, right? for all directional references – consider you are facing the big gear from the ashtray
(the bzzazzt write up was copy pasted from someones sorry for no credit)
Quote:
The isle starts with 3 Bzzazzts on it (left, right, and center). Only the Bzzazzts can be mezzed, all have wide assist/agro ranges so expect all 3 on your raid when you agro one. All of these mobs proc a single target Deadly Poison 1200pt DoT).
When the left Bzzazzt is slain he will immediately spawn a Bazzazzt (tougher then the Bzzazzt). When that is slain it will split into two Bazzazzt. When each is slain they will split into another Bazzazzt.
When the right Bzzazzt is slain he will immediately spawn three Bazzazzts.
When the center one is slain he will spawn a Bazzazzt, then a Bzzt, then Bazzt Zzzt the boss (who DTs)

The way you clear this isle – is you mez( thinking of charming one some time) the middle and right wasps. On the mez of the right and center – the MT simultaneously aggros the left wasp kills – the chain spawns two typically (this is sony guys) same style fight as Isle 4 kill them all. When done. Break mez and aggro the wasp that was originially the one on the right. Make sure that you keep a chanter and an alt mezzer on that other wasp in case the chanter goes down. You do NOT want to kill what was originally the center wasp 2nd. Center wasp MUST be the third one – or you will get an aggro Sirran which you remember is a PITA. After the wing wasps and their chains are done – kill what was originally the center wasp and all her spawns – and you get the DT boss. Spank her. Rez up the DTs – and everyone turns in their bits for their key.

Put someone on chain hails – prolly a box – in order to farm Isle 7 for shaman FD ring bit. (note Sirran can be bugged. if he doesn't respond to hails it might be because he was aggroed or whatever. regardless if he doesn't respond to hails he prolly wont' reply to the phrase that pays either - and you will have to do sister some other day)

Isle 7 Drake Isle: pita to split. The drakes fly away from pulls and thru the aggro range of the sphinxs which can start a DT chain of events that bites. Spend some time watching the drakes pattern of flying and pull them when they round the “corner” in their flight path – make sure the puller is AT the corner in order to get the cleanest pulls. SKs make the best pullers here cause they can z axis pull and then FD if the drake flys away – and you can send in your next SK or necro – while the SK waits for aggro to clear. Anyhow – painfully pull all of the drakes until dead. Then kill the sphinxes once at a time. THEY DT – so have your DT sac up there. Only 8 Sphinxes as I recall – so you don’t need to use a DT sac here – you can just cycle thru your raid whoever is low on buffs and mana anyways. Once they are dead – pull and kill the udinine spirits or whatever (will-o-wisp – dealos in the tower mid zone.

Painful aside – you can skip below this paragraph if you don’t care about mage epic: Ok – mage hats. I have cleared this Isle and seen NO MAGE crowns. Contrary to theory posted elsewhere – you can get a fully spawned Isle 7 and no crowns. I have personally seen it. I have also got 6 crowns in one clearing. We cleared 7 one night and logged back on the next day – and sniped the drakes as they were spawning (Isle 7 is a 24 hour spawn) I “think” that there is some formula that affects crowns being on the mobs on this Isle. Each mob that spawns “might” do a loot check to see if a crown is present – and then gets a chance of having a crown. So 2 scenarios. If you clear all the isle except for say the udinine spirits and they didn’t have any crowns – the next time the isle spawns it might only have 2 crowns. Then you clear the isle except for the sphinxes and they randomly didn’t have any crowns. The next night your farming team clears only half the drakes and get 2 crowns and call it a day – when the isle respawns it has been partially cleared several nights – and each time less mobs spawning with the crown. Scenario 2 – the one where we killed everything as it poped. The odds of the crown being on each spawn increased as their were less mobs left to spawn. Or that could all be ******** – and it is totally random and we got lucky one day and got 6 crowns.

Begin reading here if you skiped the mage epic discussion

After you have cleared the isle – remember the box you left chain hailing Sirran on the other isle? You now have that box tell sirran The phrase
Quote:
?llaw eht htiw eno I ma

aka: Am I one with the wall?

Then continue chain hailing. The raid smokes the Sister of the Spire until you get several “a Spiritualist's Ring” in order to do the shammy FD quest.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=479

the other drop is off the bixie boss. Seen this drop twice.

Each time you kill the sister – have the box on Isle 6 say the phrase that pays and the sister should respawn. This can get fuxored up if the Sirran despawns on Isle 6. never tried to say the phrase that pays to another version of Sirran and doubt it would work.

Decide when you are done farming the Sister. And say the phrase one last time and stop hailing. Wait until sirran despawns and then kill Sister – Sirran spawns on Isle 7 after next Sister kill. Everyone turns in their bits and gets key to Isle 8 – Veeshan’s

Isle 8 Vesshan only 2 mobs live here. Eye and hand of Veeshan. Both DT every 45 seconds. Heard you can pull Eye down to Isle 7 if you are clever – might eat extra DTs doing this. Easier to just invis up raid click up and rush him dead. What about hand? Well Hand is special. Where is the hand? Well remember we skipped Nobles Isle? Move the wizards around in your groups – and alter plane sky each group to zone in. If you are short wizards- have the poor slackers run all the way back to isle 8 after they moved their first groups and Alter plane sky again until you get the raid off Isle 8. anyone without the full keyset to all isles should stay on isle 8 – they should invis here and hang out at the edge of the isle = they should be out of aggro.

Noble isle. Everyone click up to Noble with their key of swords. Ok --- there are 2 bladestorms here and a noble. Kill them . the quest chick may aggro – kill her too. Once noble is dead – invis everyone up (azaraks have respawned) click their way to Isle 4 (griff/peg) kill the Overseer there. (he spawns after you kill the noble. He death touches. After he is dead – hand spawns. Have everyone click up to 8 and sack the Hand. Sky is beaten.

I didn't address quests much here. Most of the quests in Sky are for outdated stuff - you can't even give away MQs to level 46s on. Mostly peeps just don't want that low stat garb. There are a few notable exceptions.

There is a shaman only 2 charge(rechargeble) FD ring that can be quested here.
Necro, ranger, warrior, SK and mages all have drops for their Kunark epic here.

There is some quested earing for rangers with a clicky 105 damage nuke here from the top two isles.

There are class haste belts hereboth droped for 15/21 % haste and quested 41% haste - that are bad by today standards specially if you got a fabled haste belt or better.

There is a quested clicky usable by all classes ranger only cloak that can be quested here. clicky 50% haste. lasts 18 seconds. can be clicked by all classes from the inventory. TF has produced about 5 of these - I have one in my inventory - hardly ever use it. ussually have a shaman or a chanter around to buff me but rarely I duo/solo so...

There is this quested Ranger only bow that can be quested on this zone - that no one I know has and it used to be the best bow in the game until Velious came out - it is pretty poor by todays standards. Since Velious came out the same month Vazaelle was released - it is obvious why no one on my server is likely to have one.

There are a variety of clicky toys from here - but lame by todays standards. for example there is a rogue only clicky mask for invis. I will have to check to see if that is clicky from inventory - maybe MQ it to one of my clerics.

You either need to fight your way there, or find a necro with keys to corpse-summon you.

These days it's really not that hard: last time we had three groups of 55+ and got to the Pegasus Isle in about three hours... and a fair amount of that time was spent faffing around rather than fighting :).

Is wizzy port the only way to get to this plane still? Has an alternate access route been added like the soulstones to get to plane of Hate?

We have not high level wizzy's in our guild yet and several of us will need to visit this plane for epic turn-in soon (I hope).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Aye, you need a Wizzy still.

Be geesh, its only a level 46 spell I think. You don't have a 46+ wizard?

Its safe to zone in, so hail any 46+ wizzy and hand him a stone, he has no reason to say no and you ought to tip him anyway.

The stone's 105pp with good faction and takes a group up.

Actually, they do: all buffs are stripped on zoning into Sky, which is why most Wizards you meet in PoK won't take you there. Last time I went I had to pay 500pp (plus the stone) to get a wizard to port me, and still took the best part of an hour to find one.

# Oct 31 2004 at 1:17 PM Rating: Default
I am currently researching this place for my epic run through, me being a 59 necro and this being were most of my epic stuff is, so i have a few qustions because some of these posts are not too clear:
1) Is it true that I can bypass Noble Isle by buying the key for Azerack Isle from the key master? Which portal takes my group to Azerack Isle from Fairie Isle?
2) How does the 80 min timers work for the "Bosses" who spawn Sirren? Do they start on very first kill on the respective islands or from just arriving onto the islands? Do the Islands have to be clear to have the "Bosses" spawn?
3) I need the Isle that a "watchful guardian" is on, by what i can tell he should be on Gorgalask Isle, can any confirm this?
4) Which Isle does Gzzl, my final turn in mob appear on? Is he still on the 40 min timer?
5) Does Sirran ever despawn w/o a key being turned in? As i see we might be on some of these Isles for a few attempts for the drops and I dont want to have the Isles repop and Sirren still be sitting there to wipe us out.
Any info will help and I check this post daily. TY in advance =)

It's not a bad walkthrough, it was copied from 2 great Sky walkthrus who's webpages were taken down a couple of years ago.

To help answer some of your questions tho:
1) You can either buy a key on the first isle or kill the mobs to get keys.
2) Once the "boss" is spawned, you have a set amount of time to kill them to spawn Sirren or they despawn.
3) Not sure, when I cleared PoA it was a long time ago.
4) Not sure.
5) Sirran DOES despawn (think he's on a 20 or 30min timer)

The most important things to remember in Sky are:
DO NOT USE SAY - Sirran will attack anyone who uses say
DO NOT USE AE EFFECTS - You will aggro mobs from other isles (think the most I saw was 3 other isles coming in when someone AEd a stun)
DO NOT SPAWN SIRRAN UNTIL YOU ARE READY - He assists and once he's aggroed, you can't turn in for a key

Bzzzat Isle was the worst part I can remember, but the walkthru covers the tactics for it. And when I cleared Sky, our highest guild member was 60 so it's much easier (single groupable) for 70s. There are some mobs that DT, so if you have to clear them remember to bring canon fodder (ie Rangers)

Sirran the Lunatic
# Jul 01 2004 at 9:42 AM Rating: Excellent
After reading a lot of stuff about Sky, it seems that one fairly important thing has not been mentioned...

The general pattern for each isle is to clear the "standard" MOBs, collecting key parts, then kill the boss. When the boss dies, a halfling NPC named "Sirran the Lunatic" spawns. You hail him (and should chain hail him until complete) and every person turns in the key parts to obtain their key.

It has been mentioned that you should NOT /SAY anything to him, even though there are [hints] in his responses for followup. Conversation beyond hailing typically results in a "LOADING, PLEASE WAIT..." message.

What has NOT been mentioned is how Sirran the Lunatic aggros. He seems awfully like the druids at various circles around Norrath... He does not like it when you beat on the local fauna.

Our puller pulled the Gorgolask (named boss) and another MOB at the same time. We had 3 groups, average level 61, pretty heavy in the casting department...

As the well-trained unit we are, we, of course, concentrated our efforts on the named first, off-tanking the add with pets to keep it busy. WRONG.

Boss (Gorgolask) died, Sirran the Lunatic spawned and went on a rampage, killing each member of the raid one at a time. For the record, he quads for about 1200 and moves FAST.

BOttom line, you CAN kill the boss safely on some islands without clearing the island first. However, when you DO kill the boss to spawn the halfling, make SURE that you are not currently aggro'd on anything else or you will get slammed hard. I do not know if having an add mezzed will **** him off, but we will not try. We'll hold the boss and kill the add(s) first in the future.

The Horse Isle (6) Soon as you zone in run south and hide behind huge gear. This is camp. Bzzazzt are the regular mobs there are three. Middle one is PH for "Boss" and spawns adds out of corpse 1/1/1 Left bee spawns like such 1/3/3 and right bee is 1/2/2. Here is how we did it.
Had our ranger pull all three snare and root one and melee it till he died, other two wonder on back (they have a ridulously long aggro range.. count to 20) then raid attacked the one that was snared. This is where it went bad had our MA die so we pretty much scrambled for a few.... lost another eventually i got aggro (54 War 6k hp 1150 ac) Held on for a good few minutes too till our cleric started getting aggro. Cleric died whole raid wiped.. Ill be back tomorrow

is camo up before entering the agro isles and get safely to a spot to pull to...if someones camo wears off tell them to stand and die...rez them after everyone is safely to the pull spot.

there going to be deaths in sky...fact of life..20k DT's and bad pulls are going to happen.

the question about the third isle for the quest turn ins...well....my ranger haste item turn in was right in the quest room...hailed the npc got the book read it and turned it back into him...he despawned and another npc spawned in which i turned my pieces in to and i had my item.

i believe the quest room is part of the third isle.

on the first isle talk to the key guy there...the one that already there not spawned....buy the veeshans key and click on one of the portals and you enter the quest room...carefull...once in there you cant get back to the regular sky zones...you jump off and end up in freeport.

PoS Tactics

Cleared to Pegasus island with 5 65s. (Warrior, Ranger, Druid, Enchanter, Necro) 3 were boxed.

Our strategy:

On first island, buy Key of Misplaced. Use it to gain entrance to Azarak island. Be invised when you do this. Head to soutern part of island get up pets and wait for a wandering Azarack to engage. Enchanter should be ready to mez adds. These will die relativly quickly. It helps to have runes up on all before heading in. Once 8 wandering azaracks are dead, pull the protector of the sky (named azarack) His is difficult to aggro sometimes (he just sits in the air and doesn't not come) Enchanter had to charm him to get him in melee range. It is very important that you don't kill him while he is high in the air because Sirran will spawn where he dies and if he's above ground, you won't be able to give him the broken mirrors that you looted from earlier azaracks to get the key to the next island. Once you kill the protector, do you hand ins to Sirran, get your key and click with it on portal to Gorgalask island.

Gorgalask Island -

There are probably 12-15 wanderers on this island. You can pull them in ones and twos pretty easily. Be careful of the eye mobs. These will dispell four slots. It is somewhat unavoidable but try to nuke them down as fast as possible. Once all wanderers are dead, you'll prolly have three nameds in castle in the middle and perhaps a couple lesser mobs in the back. Here's what we did and it worked beautifully. You need to kill Gorgalask (capital "G") to get Sirran to spawn on this island. We had the necro pull all three nameds out of the temple. The warrior followed and once necro was well clear of the temple, he FD'ed and warrior began hailing Gorgalask. He will stop his return to the temple and talked to the warrior. The necro /q'ed and cleared aggro. We waited for him, then beat him down quite easliy. We handed him the animal figurines we looted from the other mobs and got the key to the Pegasus island (Ranger epic). Will post more about this island later. Hope this helps.

I am posting more to get some useful information about PoSky and the first island of Azarack. There is very little information about PoSky so we walked in fairly blindly (twice). This was my experience..

We had our Wiz port us to the main island (I guess thats what I would call it). We purchased all 3 keys available from the key master since we were unsure of which one to use. This cost around 320 pp per person. We found the one to get to the first island was the Key of Misplaced (or something like that...forgive me, i might be slightly wrong on the name but the other keys were called something entirely different)

To enter the island you just have the key in had and click on the portal anywhere. This was one of the main reasons we wiped out in a matter of a few seconds because we did not know what key and how to use it so we entered the island sporatically instead of together. The Azaracks aggro covered some distance and they all came at us. This was with 2 full groups.

We returned, summoned corpses, and rezzed. A note came out saying the server was going to be brought down so we ended our raid.

We returned some hours later with a greater force..3.5 groups. We entered the island again ..this time in groups. Unfortunately, there were no mobs up yet. we waited for quiet some time and finally called the raid. After about half the raid leaped off the island..POP!

One Azarack popped on the hill closest to the portal. We killed it with ease. I am not sure if the Protector of the Sky spawned because of the kill or if it was due to a timer but he popped. He spawns in the air above the area that you first zone onto the island. He does, in fact, not come after you until you have created some damage on him. He was killed fairly easily.

After less than a minute, Sirran the lunatic spawned over his corpse. You are not suppose to /say or /hail anything or it will set him off. After a few minutes two more Azaracks spawned on top of the same place as the first did.

They popped at the same time. They aggro immediately and once you engage into battle it triggers Sirran to attack you. He does hit for 2000hps and killed most everyone in a matter of seconds.

We returned, summoned corpses, and rezzed. We were not kos on the main island as some of the posts suggest..maybe this was fixed.

Now, I am hoping that someone with true experience on this island can assist with some information. We are planning to do this again and have decided we should not kill the Protector until the rest of the spawns are dead.

It would be nice to hear some more stategies on this before our next attempt. Also, was wondering if they fixed the spawn problem on the last Azarack that wouldnt spawn.

How many HP does Sirran have? since he hits for 2000hp..how do you survive? How do you keep the protector off of you until last since the mobs are not suppose to mez well...maybe root??

appreciate the advise

I didn't see it listed here, so thought I'd mention something very important.

If you happen to go to first isle, and someone AEs, the quest mobs will aggro. Don't kill them. One raid killed one quest mob, and anyone that assisted became instant KoS to sky mobs, including Sirran. This meant those people were not able to get any keys, not able to do any quests, and not even able to port up for a CR. We had to go to the quest room, talk to all the NPCs to despawn them before we could finally get the KoS people rezzed up without getting them killed again. There is no way to fix the faction short of /petitioning and hoping for a kind GM.
Minimum Group for PoSky?

A 65 Necro, 58 Druid, 57 Chanter, 56 Ranger and 53 Pally. Goal is 4th island for Ranger Epic.

Can this group make it OK? If not, who would you add? Or does this really require a full raid.

This group is fine with VSR and the Hole.

That group would have no trouble killing the faeries on the first island, but I think you might have problems on the second (Azerack Island, as you can bypass Noble Dojorn's island completely) island, as the azeracks are aggro, and crowd control would be tough.

It would certainly be interesting to give it a shot, but I'd only do it if you had a cleric/wizzy combo willing to come up and rezz you if it doesn't work out. You'll also want coffins for the necro if you fail, as you don't want to do the rezzing where you died.

As for the mobs on the forth island, they are non-aggro and you don't need to kill them for the turn-in, so I wouldn't worry about them too much. When you're ready for turn-in, have everyone else leave, so that there are no aggro issues with the turn-in mob.

If you do try it, post back here and let us know how the crowd control efforts on Azerack island went. :)

imo...at best its "possible." but i would highly recommend having at least 2 groups...
First off u need a wizard to port ur group in...
secondly if things go bad u don't have a cleric to rez...
third if u wipe...you'll need to get a cleric to rez u and a wizard to port u all back just for the rez. I highly doubt you'll be able to get past 3rd Island. The Noble Dojorn will drop u pretty dayam fast IMO. Your putting a lot of pressure on your lvl 53 tank. On the forth island, 1 Griffon or Pegasus there = 5 mobs eventually. But who knows...anythings possible -=D

If u were serious about doing PoA with one group I'd recommend at Least a full group of 60's at least. 2 good groups Can handle it..but i'd still recommend having a camp out cleric for each island just in case of a wipe.

My guild and I did PoSky the past 2 days. Heres a little on what we've experienced on the 7th island.

We had 21 average level of 60 and 1 camp out cleric in 7th island. Well i don't know if something is wrong with pathing or what but we had a helluva time trying to pull the drakes. we tried pulling from the front left corner towards windmill...the front rite corner and the back rite corner. The only way we got the drakes to come for us was when they were at the very bottom of the ramp...we had a 56 druid pull with a fast spell. Many times the puller ate a death touch....after we downed the drake, we had someone targetting the sphinxs and had him assist. if the sphinx had a target that person would camp out and come back to clear agro. after many many death touches...we cleared a section that we thought would have enough space to pull the spinx's. bad idea...the drakes assisted..it didn't move from its position on the platform. and had a near whipe . our cleric, necro, and mage made the camp...so we resumed clearing the drakes...ate a plenty more dt's and ended up with just the blues to pull...which were tough! it wasnt so tough as long as we only had one..but the last 3 were pretty much stuck together, so we dealed with all of them at once...we took down 2 and everyone but 4 mages died. the 3rd drake finished us off...so we logged in camp out cleric...rezzed and regrouped and cleared the last drake. after that we formed at the bottom of the ramp and proceeded to pull each of the sphinxes which went down pretty fast...most of the time it never got off more than 2dt's, the puller's and then whoever was on top of his agro list. Well we ended up with 5 crowns total from 7th island...it wasn't easy...had almost 3 wipes...but well worth it. camp out cleric on every island is a must!

The pathing on drake island is indeed horrible. You can get them to follow you by "babying" them, which is just a euphemisn for staying within melee range on the mob for the entire pull. Sometimes you will find a drake or two way up the sky above you. We usually just leave these, as they don't seem to bother us, but if you do aggro them they are tough to get down, but they will then gladly cast on you, even if you can't return the favor due to range.

Saving the sphinxes for last is probably your best bet, as they either don't social aggro, or have a rather small social range. We usually pull them to the bottom of the ramp, but you could probably fight them right where they spawn if you watched mob positioning.

Ideally, let the DT-taking puller use mage summoned dispell sticks to pull the sphinxes, so you get some use out of the person who just took a dirtnap. You could also probably slow on the pull, but you'll usually want your slowing classes alive as much as possible, so I'd probably just stick to the dispell.

I'll second your recommendation for camping a cleric on the non-aggro islands, and even on Bzzzt Island, but behind the giant gear and only if you don't pull the bees to there, as they do corpse camp.
