After the fall of the Combine Empire, the majority of humankind spread out and occupied the center of what was then called Tunaria. These humans lived in small villages upon the fertile plains of Karana and in an area along the western coast called the Oceangreen Hills.

For more details about the Oceangreen Hills, its origins, and its battles with the plague of Bertoxxulous, check out this article.

This zone directly connects to West Karana. Why is this not listed in the Connected Zones tab?

new mobs, late Dec 2010

Came back from Christmas, and there were new mobs in Oceangreen Hills: A rabbit, a lizard, a wandering drunkard, a clockwork. Rabbit dropped a Medium Rabbit's Foot, no trade quest item. Clockworks dropped a couple of items, too. Not sure what quest it is for, but a rabbit popped up in Dragonscale Hills as well.

How do you get there?
# Nov 24 2008 at 11:44 AM Rating: Decent
the one thing missing from all the post is how to actually go to Oceangreen hills.

I got the expansion. I went to plane of time... I found a way to go to the void but not Oceangreen Hills.

Hope someone posts how to get there.

thanks

You use the portals in The Void. There is a portal to every "Connected Zone" listed on the Void zone listing.

Oceangreen Hills and their tasks...........

(I will not where I satnd on them to show that details are self verified or not)

KERRIN THE UNKEMPT (not listed as of this post)

>>>>Cure the Crude

1) Create the healing elixir thet Kerrin described to you. (All)
2) Use the healing elixir on several of the sick plants in the hidden glade. 0/6 (Oceangreen Hills)
3) (Return to Kerrin) (Don't know exact wording as I don't see this step yet, but I know it is to go back to Kerrin).

REWARD: XP, Faction with Citran, 80 Chronobines

NOTES: Kerin will give you a 4-slot container called a Stone Vial.
Combine four foraged Maggots inside it to make Mild Maggot Acid.
Then combine inside it the Mild Maggot Acid, a Pinecone (foraged) and an Oceangreen Wheatgrass (foraged) to make a Vial of Curative Elixir.
The Stone Vial is used up in the 2nd combine.
Use the Vial of Curative Elixir on the shrubs/trees in the cave (you have to kill them to about 50% before you can use it on them).
I am in-progress on this one.
Kerrin is deep in the caves behind the waterfall.
Combine items can be obtained in advance.

>>>>Poach the Poachers

1) Kill 6 Poachers 0/6 (Oceangreen Hills)
2) Speak with Kerrin

REWARD: 30 Chronobines, XP, Faction with Cirtan

NOTES: I finished this one.
Poachers are not too common or populous.

>>>>STOP THE SPREADING

I have not finished Cure the Crude (above), so I can't get this one yet. This one involves killing 10 "blackbrairs," 10 "dessicated" treelings and five "tottering" treelings.

REWARD: 60 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

FRIPP DARKPAW (not listed as of this post)

>>>>Send the Message

1) kill a prominent member of the Blackburrow clan and loot his finger. 0/1 (Blackburrow)
2) Kill several of the gnolls withing Blackburrow. 0/12 (Blackburrow
3) ??? (My guess is you take the finger back to Fripp)

REWARD: 60 Chronobines, XP, Faction with Cirtan

NOTES: I have the task, but Blackburrow zone is not yet available.
Fripp is at the Gnoll camp.

>>>> What Evil Lurks in the Heart of Gnolls?

1) Recover the stolen Darkpaw supplies from the Blackburrow Lurkers. 0/1 (Oceangreen Hills)
2) Deliver the supplies to Fripp Darkpaw 0/1 (Oceangreen Hills)

REWARD: 45 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTES: It appears that every "Lurker" drops the Satchel of Darkpaw Supplies that you need.
I finished this one.

ELDER MYSTIC FOPPYE (not listed as of this post)

>>>Invading the Invaders

NPC would not give out this task yet, as only the "preview" is out, not the expansion, as I type this.

However, it seems to involve killing 20 "feral" gnolls and collecting four Wrext Mal Insignias in Blackburrow.

REWARD: 45 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTE: Foppye is at the Gnoll camp.

BRACKA DARKPAW (not listed as of this post)

>>>>Summary Execution

NPC would not give out this task yet, as only the "preview" is out, not the expansion, as I type this.

However, it seems to involve kill five Wrext Mal Elite and 15 twisted gnolls in Blackburrow.

REWARD: 45 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTE: Bracka is at the Gnoll camp.

SERGEANT BRONAL CADRAN

>>>>Man the Defenses
>>>>No Cure for Death

NOTE: Both of these tasks and the NPC are all ready on Allah.
I have accomplished both and psoted on related pages.
Details for these tasks appear cirrect on those other pages.
It appears the Bronal tasks are meant to lead you to Captain Hiran Tillin for his tasks.

GARVIN WINDRUNNER (not listed as of this post)

>>>>Reduce the Risk

1) Kill 15 Diseased Animals 0/15 (Oceangreen Hills)
2) Speak with Garvin Windrunner (Oceangreen Hills)

REWARD: 40 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTES: The task should actually read "infected" animals rather than "diseased," as it is the infected you need to kill.
I completed this task.

>>>Names for the Faceless

1) Deliver 10 Irregular's Signet Ring to Garvin Windrunner

REWARD: 110 Chronobines, XP, Citran faction

NOTES: The rings drop pretty often off undead in Oceangreen Hills and Oceangreen village.
They can be looted in advance.
I have completed this task.
It appears that Garvin will not give you this task until you have done Reduce the Risk (above).
Garvin is just outside the main door to the fort, inside the fort walls.

TABRON CAULRIA

>>>>Does This Look Infected?

1) Loot infected organs from the animals around Oceangreen Hills and Village 0/5 (all)
2) Loot an undamaged animal organ from animals around Oceangreen Hills and Village 0/1 (all)
3) Deliver the infected animal organs to Tabron Caulria for his research 0/5 (Hills)
4) Deliver the undamaged animal organs to Tabron Caulria for his research 0/ (Hills)

REWARD: 40 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTES: Infected organs can drop from any "infected" MOB.
The undamaged organ is found on the various "diseased" corpses you sometimes see lying on the ground.
They are actually "objects," so to speak.
Open them to loot an undamaged organ.
I completed this task.

>>>>>Salving Grace

1) Collect a Blackened Deathcap Mushroom 0/1 (all)
2) Collect a venom gland from snakes around Oceangreen Hills 0/1 (all)
3) Collect a a peice of fetid flesh from zombies in Oceangreen Hills 0/1 (all)
4) Collect a a sample of reanimated bone dust from skletons in Oceangreen Hills 0/1 (all)
5) Combine the samples to create the experimental disease cure Acolyte Tabron Caulria described to you. 0/1 (all)
6) Test the disease cure on an infected animal. 0/1 (all)
7) Report your findings to Acolyte Tabron Caulria

REWARD: 45 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTES: You will be given Tabron's remedy Bag, at the start, a 6-slot container.
The Mushroom can be obtained in either the Hills or the Village. It is both a MOB drop and a common ground spawn.
Fetid Flesh can be found in both zones (off zombies).
It appears, however, that the Dust can only be obtained in the Hills (skeletons).
The snake gland can be obtained off snakes in either zone as well.
Combine the items in side the Remedy bag to make Tabron's Remedy (the bag is used up in the combine).
Use the Remedy (click from upper inventory slot) on any "infected" animal.
The animal will die/disappear when it finishes casting and it can be used even when the MOB is at 100%.
So, if you can take the hits, just stand there and cast.
I completed this task. Depsite the task references,
Taboran Caulria is not actually called an "Acolyte Tabron Caulria" in the game.

>>>>Test the Waters

1) Pick up Tabron Caulria's special vials from Morris Olberson in Oceangreen Village 0/1 (Village)
2) Collect a sample of water from the ocean near Oceangreen Village 0/1 (Village)
3) Collect a sample of water from the lake in Oceangreen Hills 0/1 (Hills)
4) Collect a sample of water from the pond near Oceangreen Village 0/1 (Village)
5) Collect a sample of water from the glade in Oceangreen Hills 0/1 (Hills)
6) Deliver the water sample from the ocean to Tabron Caulria 0/1 (Hills)
7) Deliver the water sample from the lake to Tabron Caulria 0/1 (Hills)
8) Deliver the water sample from the pond to Tabron Caulria 0/1 (Hills)
9) Deliver the water sample from the glade to Tabron Caulria 0/1 (Hills)

REWARD: 15 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTES: You have to tell Morris "Tabron sent me" and he will then give you the 4-slot bag (Tabron's Vial Pouch) containing four vials you need (An empty vial labled "Pond Water," An empty vial labled "Sea Water," An empty vial labled "Glade Water," and An empty vial labled "Lake Water").
You can dump the bag but keep the vials.
Each vial is named for where you use it.
Go to each of these bodies of water, and click the vial from an upper inventory to fill it (you will get Vial of Glade Water, Vial of Lake Water, Vial of Sea Water, and Vial of Pond Water).
Some work at the waters edge while some didnt seem to work unless you were submerged.
You can collect samples in any order.
I completed this task.

CAPTAIN HIRAN TILLIN

>>>>Familiarity is the Key

1) Find the place Tillin calls "The Ruin" 0/1 (Village)
2) Find the place Tillin calls "Pit One" 0/1 (Village)
3) Find the place Tillin calls "Pit Two" 0/1 (Village)
4) Find the place Tillin calls "The Squaren" 0/1 (Village)
5) Find the place Tillin calls "The Inn" 0/1 (Village)
6) Find the place Tillin calls "The Smithy" 0/1 (Village)
7) Find the place Tillin calls "The Southwest One" 0/1 (Village)
8) Find the place Tillin calls "The Southeast One" 0/1 (Village)
9) Find the place Tillin calls "The Northwest One" 0/1 (Village)
10 Find the place Tillin calls "The Northeast One" 0/1 (Village)
11) Speak with Captain hiran Tillan (Hills)

REWARD: 15 Chronobines, XP, Cirtan faction

NOTES: Basically, the ruins are where it appears the construction is in progress for Qeynos (southeast of zone), then head west and step into the two dug out pits (mining area) and then head on east and basically step inside just about every bulding to get all the location updates.
This will open a sequence of two group missions for you, both in an instanced version of Oceangreen village.

>>>>Stop the Contamination (group mission)

1) Speak with Acolyte Koel 0/1 (Hills)
2) Speak with Billik Broadwake 0/1 (instanced Village)
3) Keep the stores, villagers and supplies safe (instanced Village)
4) Speak with Billik Broadwake 0/1 (instanced Village)
5) Report to Captain Hiran Tillan (Hills)

REWARD: 60 Chronobines, Citran faction

NEW ZONE: Oceangreen Village: Stop the Contamination

NOTES: Hailing Koel (step 2, who is right there with Tillin) ports you into this instanced zone.
You appear at the town "square" (as established in Tillin's first task).
Speaking with Billik (step 3) activates the sequence.
All Village NPC's appear to be spawned just like the normal zone.
Also in the zone is Scumlord Heyanti and Arch Priest Cronkle (who you will not need to kill, but they will emote).
Having a tracker is a good idea for this.
You will get several "waves"of MOB's (seemed like they were two at a time, but for the plaguefly, who was alone) that you need to find and kill to protect the village (Step 3).
I estimate there were 12 waves, and they happened every 2 to 5 minutes (they didn't take all that long).
If you don't find and kill the waves, the MOB's will attack the villagers.
The villagers will fight back, but if too many die or you die, you will loose.
The waves were (a servant of Bertoxxulous, a bentwing plaguefly, a Bertoxxulian Scablord).
A bentwing plaguefly was the task "loot dropper" and spawned about half way through the waves.
Most spawns seemed to be by the ocean and some were north and south of the village by bushes or rocks.
After step 3 updates, speak with Billik (say "Keep") to zone back out to Oceangreen Hills by Acolyte Koel.
All MOBs were Dark Blue and Light Blue at Level 80.

>>>>A Dread Challenger (group mission)

1) Speak with Acolyte Koel 0/1 (Hills)
2) Speak with Billik Broadwake 0/1 (instanced Village)
3) (Protect the villagers) (instanced Village)
4) Speak with Billik Broadwake 0/1 (instanced Village)
5) Report to Captain Hiran Tillan (Hills)

NEW ZONE: Oceangreen village: A Dread Challenger

REWARD: 30 Chronobines, Cirtan faction

NOTES: Step three had a more involved test than I note above, but I can't recall what all it said.
As before, Hailing Koel ports you into this instanced zone.
As before, you appear at the town "square."
As before, speaking with Billik activates the sequence.
As before, all Village NPC's appear to be spawned just like the normal zone and Scumlord Heyanti and Arch Priest Cronkle are also in zone and you don't need to fight them here, either.
Again, having a tracker is a good idea for this as you will face another series of "waves"of MOB's (this time they all seemed to be three at a time, but for the golem and last skeleton).
As before, there were about 12 waves and they didn't take all that long to spawn.
Again, if you don't find and kill the waves, the MOB's will attack the villagers.
The villagers will fight back, but if too many die or you die, you will loose.
The waves were (a Bertoxxulian Scablord, a scabrous ghoul, a tainted ghoul, a pusflesh zombie, a stench flesh golem, a blood-crusted gravebone).
A stench flesh golem was the task "loot dropper" and spawned about half way through the waves.
There was also a blood-crusted gravebone (charbone skeleton) that seemed to be the last wave, but dropped no additional loot.
Finishing this mission leads you to Lord Antonius Bayle, for what appears to be raid missions.

You say, 'Hail, Garvin Windrunner'
Garvin Windrunner runs his keen gaze over you. 'I don't know you, stranger. We have too many [enemies] around us and I have no reason to believe you are not one of them. Perhaps you should go back to your home until we straighten things out here. I haven't the time or energy left to [test] you and I don't need any new recruits getting in my way.
You say, 'test'
Garvin Windrunner says 'Hah! Well, since you're so keen to prove yourself, I'll send you off to die. Won't be no skin off my neck if you don't make it back from this one.'
You have been assigned the task 'Reduce the Risk'.

Garvin Windrunner has hasked you to help him reduce the horrible disease that are running rampant in the hills of Oceangreen. While he would prefer that the disease be stopped without harm to the animals, attempts to do so have failed. Garvin beliefs that it is little time left and the disease must be halted right now. Killing the animals with the disease is the only sure way to stop or at least slow the spread.

Objective instructions;
Kill 15 Disease animals
Speak with Garvin Windrunner

Your task 'Reduce the Risk'has been updated.
Garvin gruffly acknowledge your help.
Your faction standing with Bayle's Irregulars got better.
Your faction standing with Residents of the Glade got better.
Your faction standing with Oceangreen Residents got better.

Reward:
40 Chronobines
Faction with Cirtan, Bayle's Herald

Quest: Garvin Windrunner 2: 'Names for the Faceless'
# Oct 13 2008 at 6:14 AM Rating: Excellent
*
106 posts
You say, 'Hail, Garvin Windrunner'
Garvin Windrunner says 'So, you've come back for more. Well, I suppose you may be an [enemy], but I may as well get something useful out of you before you turn on me. If that suits your plans as well, then I'll put you to [work].'
You say, 'work'
Garvin Windrunner says 'You did well enough last time, but don't go thinkin' I trust you yet. Unfortunately there's still plenty of dangers to send you into, if you've still got the will to help.'

You have been assigned the task 'Names for the Faceless'

Garvin Windrunner explains to you that many good men and woman have been lost in this battle to save the small village of Oceangreen. He appears to have no regrets about those losses, stating that they gave their lives willingly for a cause that mattered to them. But he certainly appears unsettled for the fact that those lost allies were being used by some evil forces as undead warriors. He has asked you to seek out any undead you can find and recover any of the signet rings that the members of Bayle’s forces wear.

Objective:
Deliver 10 [link=https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=76860]Irregular's Signet Ring[/link] to Garvin Windrunner.

Rings are prelootable. Upon turning in last ring:

Your task 'Names for the Faceless' has been updated.

Garvin thanks you for your help. Despite his rough tone and dismissing nod, you get the impression that his gratitude is sincere as he reverently places the rings in a doeskin bag at his hip.
Your faction standing with Bayle's Irregulars got better.
Your faction standing with Residents of the Glade got better.
Your faction standing with Oceangreen Residents got better.
Your faction standing with Cirtan, Bayle's Herald got better.
You have successfully been granted your reward for: Names for the Faceless

(Funnily enough, the first 3 faction is given when you turn in the 10th ring. The Cirtan, Bayle’s Herald faction is received by clicking the task reward window. )

You say, 'Hail, Tabron Caulria'
Tabron Caulria smiles at you, though the greeting is neither warm, nor friendly. 'Greetings outlander. Your presence has attracted much attention here in Oceangreen. These are dark times, and we are beset by [enemies] from all directions.'
Tabron Caulria looks your way apprehensively -- he appears to be quite formidable.
You say, 'enemies ?'
Tabron Caulria says 'Indeed. We face many enemies here in Oceangreen, but I fear the growing [plague] may be the worst of all. We've seen the diseased animals roaming the hills nearby, and I fear their contagion could be spreading to our fallen warriors. I hear rumors of walking dead at night.'
You say, 'plague ?'
Tabron Caulria says 'The curing of this pestilence is my highest order. Karana demands it!'
You have been assigned the task 'Does This Look Infected?'.

Tabron Caulria has asked you to clean up the corpses of infected animals from around Oceangreen hills. As proof, he hwas requested you collect infected animal organs from these poor creatures after they die. He seems to be very concerned that you not actually kill them yourself, as he could never play a part of their suffering. In addition, he has requested you collect an undamaged animal organ so he may further his research on this plague.

Tarbron Caulria is in the fort. Paste this in your map to find him:
P 1021.0249, -5068.2378, 120.8371, 0, 0, 127, 3, Tabron_Caulria

Objective:
Loot infected organs from the animals around Oceangreen Hills and Village (0/5)
Loot an undamaged animal organ from animals around Oceangreen Hills and Villa (0/1)
Deliver the infected organs to Tabron Caulria for his research. (1)
Deliver the undamaged organ to Tabron Caulria for his research. (1)

Your task "Does this look infected has been updated"

Tabron seems pained by the obvious weapon damage on some of the infected organs, but makes no mention of it.

Your faction standing with Bayle's Irregulars got better.
Your faction standing with Residents of the Glade got better.
Your faction standing with Oceangreen Residents got better.

Edit: to get an undamaged organ, you have to target "a diseased xxx corpse" and /open to be able to loot

Temple is not connected to this zone as far as I know. It is actually connected with Oceangreen Village.

No idea about the void. Didn't see anything obvious when I was exploring.

Answering my own question...

It does appear about the Temple zone connection is through O-Village, not O-Hills.

When you zone into O-Village, a short distance ahead if a big black-and-yellow obelisk thing surrounded by Bertox cultists. There's a faintly vaginal-looking "opening" on one side that has a short tunnel that ports you to the Temple. In the Temple, when you land, you're on a platform. If you click it, it raises up a bit and deposits you back in the Village, same spot as you came in. Note that cultists may be close enough to aggro so be invisd for the return trip.

The Void is reached by clicking this smallish purple-swirly thing on the ground near where you port into Oceangreen Hills, from O-Village. I only saw the boss in the Void, no other mobs. I forget how I left, but I think I fell off a floating platform (think Plane of Sky) and at some point got ported back to O-Hills.

Lots of mobs in the Temple, most don't SI. Light and dark blue to 80. I didn't see one NEW model tho... just a bunch of golems, skells and Bertox-worshippers all dressed in that same tired robe.

Zone line to West Karana

There is also a zone out to West Karana in this zone if you go past the wolf head. Seems like a one way zone line which is rather irrating.
