The eastern plains of Karana are sandwiched by mountains and water. Travelers should be wary of the named cyclopses, wandering evil eyes, and steep, narrow mountain paths approaching Highpass Hold. Don't step off the ledge !

Listen, if you are a dark race, or do not care about faction, the druids in Eastern Karana are bar-none the best exp you are going to find 24-30.

There are 3 spawns here that spawn in 3 minutes! That is twice as fast as the treants in South Karana, and there are three kills! The druids are in the same level range as the treants as well. . .Around 22-27 or so.

Best group I have ever been in here was 2 necromancers and 2 magicians. . .with DD's being poured on, the life-span of a druid is about 4-6 secs!

The only thing better would be a chanter mixed with that group, cause 3 minutes is not a very long time to med before you're up and fighting again.

I LOVED this place. The money and exp. is simply AWESOME. An enchanter/necro/2 magicians that are all levels 24-low 30's can take the the whole spawn without any trouble. The repop REALLY fast, so it is near-constant action. The money here is awesome. Tanks really shouldn't come here becuase this place is about quick kills and the tanks would only slow the group down needing to be healed and not doing nearly as much damage in a 20 second time frame as a caster.

Coming from highpass, follow the base of the mountain on the left. There is a spot near here where 3 named gnolls spawn. At this level 2 will be green and the third will be blue, sometimes white. He is Chief Sanre Nrexasa. The secret to this is pulling from a distance. If you pull with spells (and maybe a bow, not sure I have only seen this done with a Wizzie and a Druid) from a good distance he will agro by himself. For some reason tho if you run up to him, his little green peskys will agro on you also and if you do somehow manage to kill them all, you will not get xp from them. Chief is supprisingly weak for his level and gives decent xp. As a druid i didnt even need to kite, I dotted and melee'd with a damage shield and he went down pretty quick, so quick that i actually had time to kill a crag spider in between spawns if one was near. My wizzie friend went from 24-29 here simply root/nuking him. Meleewise he isnt too stong and his spells arent that great (root and dd/ice).

This is a wonderful zone for several of the earlier levels that is never really that crowded. A person can move progressively until level 25 when there is a big jump in the levels of mobs available. Lions, wolves, chasm crawlers, and giant spiders are great for players in their teens. Gorge hounds, dark stalkers, griffawns and gnoll reavers are good around level 20-22. Crag spiders, evil eyes and undead reavers are good experience until level 25. After the crags it gets scarce for until the mid 30's with Griffons and Hill Giants being plentiful with the occasional cyclops. The safest areas to pull to are by the river and near the barbarian fishing camp. Both of these spots are relatively clear of wandering mobs. Just be careful when pulling from the mountains, this is where most of the hill giants like to wander and it is really easy to stumble on to one. Also have a constant eye out for Broon, Droon, and Proon. These are named cyclopi who wander the area. Broon is killed quickly but his death spawns Droon and Proon. Proon is the toughest of the three. He will hit in the 130's and is the cause of many deaths in Eastern Karana. I hope this helps and I look forward to reading comments to my message.

Crag Spiders

For pulling Crags:

Pull point is at the base of the ramp and between first marker. Go up the hill behind marker heading straight towards the next hill. Even if you are using track make sure you head to the next hill in front so you don't pull a train of mucktails on you. Crags should spawn around the hill in front of you. At the summit take a right and carefully run along the ridge where crags are abundent. Carefull of the HG's and the occasional Griffon. After pulling run the same route so not to pull more spiders or other mobs in the area.

Happy Hunting

Crags are great experience (I think they have a bit of a bonus cause their poison is so strong)
They also drop a lot of webs.

These make great druid prey at the right levels (I'm remembering 23 thru 25 but its been a while)
A good policy is to keep Treeform mem'd when hunting these things. As soon as the fight ends take down any sow or wolf form that you have up and hit threeform. It will automatically cure any poison and start regening hit points faster than just sitting. It will also keep those dang cats off ya so you can med in peace.

As to the webs I strongly suggest you grab a tailoring kit and change the webs into swatches. The swatches are stackable and can sell to aspiring tailors for 1PP each and sometimes 25PP per stack.

One last note: If the Crags start to get sparce kill a few Carrion spiders. They drop almost as much silk and I think they share a common spawn with the crags.
