The Broodlands have been used as a nursery for dragon eggs since ancient times. They are securely nestled in a valley surrounded on all sides by mountains to keep the precious eggs safe from harm. Most of the valley is lush and green, except where it borders other areas, like Lavastorm.
The most prominent feature of the Broodlands is the lake in the very middle of the valley. This is an excellent landmark for adventurers in the 40th to 60th level range to find their way in this area. The lake is also host to an island in its center, with a drop into the Nest itself.-----------------------

While soloing in Broodlands near Lava Storm i killed a smoke dirvish which droped a Magic, Lore, No Drop: Symbol of Yar'Lir. Once looted this gives you the option to start the Journey of Yar'Lir task. Save you'r self some time and just don't do it. The task forces you to go to all four circles and dragon stones in the zone. While not too hard with a map and invis (took maybe an hour) the reward is, get this, absoultly NOTHING! Not even so much as a copper piece, faction, or even any experiance, all you recive is a little message on how Yar'Lir was a powerful dragon. So save you'r self some time and just sellect no thanks on task!

Well, seems that this is a one time quest. Ive found more Symbol of Yar'Lir off just Broodlands trash, several of them in fact. Looted them but they never appeared in inventory although I dont have the original one any more.
So I guess be ready to fight those statues as soon as you complete the final step. Or you wont get any reward at all from this quest.
A friend completed it and killed one of the Guardians - got a nice set of shoulders off him. He didnt attempt to find any other Guardians, so not sure if the other two stay up at the Dragon Statues Ice and Desert or not. But be ready to kill them as soon as you complete the quest or you will lose out.
So I guess be ready to fight those statues as soon as you complete the final step. Or you wont get any reward at all from this quest.

Thank you! this is what i was looking for. Just completed it... went back to kill the named and my isp lost connection.. he killed me.. ran back and watched him despawn! omg .. after all that.
The point of the quest is to complete all steps. Then go BACK to the dragon statues. You will see a Guardian standing there who is not normally there. Drop invis and hail and it will attack you. I believe this is where you get your reward. Dark blue to level 70. Seemed to have good ac but didnt get a chance to spend much time fighting it because of LD. He despawned about 30 mins after. So get the quest done fast, head to the dragon statues in order of the quest. There is one of these at each when you get that step done. Kill and loot your quest reward. I dont know if you can kill all 3 and get 3 items, or if killing one despawns the rest.. havent figured it out yet. But going to get another orb because this annoyed me to watch it despawn lol.

I think the posting with the illegal screen shot is just HILLARIOUS. And I'm surprised it's still there after all this time.
And that his char name is in the photo bucket tag, the screen shot has the exact time and place that he was at are even more of a hoot.
