Befallen was once the site of a wonderful temple, a reclusive home for the monks who maintained it.

Many blame the dark elves for what it has become, but whatever the cause, Befallen is now a home to the undead its inhabitants used to hunt and destroy. Individuals who thrive on these beings have also taken up residence in its halls, necromancers and shadow knights.

Various keys are (were) obtained and required to move to the lower levels of this zone.

1st lvl pathing note
# Jul 06 2001 at 12:51 PM Rating: Decent
Playing late at nite 5am I switched chars in befallen and watched the main room as I tried to root nuke and dark servant with a 15cleric.

First the main room was empty of all but this one servant that was at the near right side of the stairs.

When I Rooted the green servant Resisted and Attacked me.(ok sounds normal for a high resist)

He ran all the way back to the back wall by the pit down the back and up the side by the locked door.(oh did I make money selling those old lvl1 keys for 60 plat, glad I saved so many)

NOTE the main room was empty still.

When I finally get to engage in melee. The mobs in the SIDE AREAS go agro and jump out and help the servant.(that is the point of this post). the bad mobs we are seeing at the stairs are really adds. Faced with Doting mobs and pets I run for the zone. After the root wore off and I hit the zone line.

notes: 10 inzone 1 15 cleric and 9 52+chars
I don't remember if this is a new pathing or and old but with the agro is new.
DE seem to be Mage with earth pet,Sk, and necro with pet. Ghouls and icebone also on lvl 1 also. I conferm that there is an ENC DE somewhere down there that Charms PCs and starts a rampage.

Please make posts that follow this form. thank you

Just a few corrections on this post I have a 17 rogue that just went through the short time of the new befallen (and hes really hoping that it changes back again to the harder level)

On the arisen knights they were conning a low blue to a high blue to me putting them at about 14-17. They are one of the easier mobs on the second floor. These are all of the warrior class. Never seen one drop less than plat. These spawn in the "spike room" on the second floor and the area around it.

Reanimated corpses are the ones that you dont reaslly want to mess with at my level. They aggro at anything that moves and the aggro radius is VERY large. They con low blue to high blue also putting them at about the same levels as the arisen knights. Again these only come in warriors, but if you are surrounded you will most likely die as they root and it is always at the worst times. These almost never drop lower than 1 plat and also are an early jewelers dream for the gems. These spawn in the second floor hallway behind the first locked door and if you aggro one you will aggro them all, beware.

The scarred initiates in actuality are only about 12-14 since they can only HT between 121 and 141. They conned anywhere from high green to low blue to me but even then at green I was only left with half of my life. These are very nasty. I believe these only come in Shadow Knight, Necro, and Cleric. The clerics are very annoying paired along with a necro as you will be losing life and they will just be gaining it. They have a large mana supply That you probably wont drain until the end when they are about to die. These drop bronze, and fine steel weapons good loot for such a low mob. Most notable spanw points for these are in the back of the first hallway by the skull wall, and behind the first door on the right on the first floor.

Dark followers are about 8-12 Not the hardest but they can stack on the DDs and DoTs like any seasoned necro. The warriors are quite easy they dont hit hard, and the rogues backstab sometimes around 40-50. These drop rusty and sometimes bronze weapons, and also 0 - 12 gold. These spawn all over on the first floor.

I have many scores to settle with the arisen thaumaturgist he is very nasty indeed, and like the Reanimated corpses he has a very largeaggro radius. I would say around 21-24 since he was red to my rogue. DDs hurt very badly around half of my life was gone before I knew what was hitting me. He will always aggro anything around you on his way down also so he doesnt come alone. Drops around four plat each time. This one spawns in the first room on the left behind the first door.

Arisen Overseer is one of the nastiest that I have met. Around 22-28 Enc so it will charm you to attack your friends. Always brings his pet. I got charmed by him a few times but once I started attacking a level 50 mages pet and it wasnt a pretty sight. One of the hardest for the top level also since he is always trained up to there. I have only gotten the chance to loot him once and it was after someone else did. I got a plat ring with not too good of stats and a shield with not too good of stats. Dont mess with this one if you can help it.

This is all that I have noted that is new in Befallen , it is great exp and loot but dont plan on going in there if you are under level 13. And even at 13 you need a full group to hold up on the first floor. I would say about 17 for the second floor with a full group but you will need higher level casters for that group also probably around 20-21.

Well I hope this will help people in befallen survive longer in there. And remember all the corpses lined up on the first floor add a nice touch to the place.

Some strategies for this zone

Ok, yes this zone is turning into a crawling nightmare for solos, but it can be handled by high teens low twenties. My 13 ranger and a 15 cleric owned the first floor and poked around on the second floor a bit. Sure we died a couple of times, but that's part of the game. The point is, this zone will require tactics over brute strength.

Case in point. Working with tactics on the second floor we managed to wander about a good bit and survive most of it. I watched chars L 34 - 45 get toasted on the same floor, because they were trying slash through a level that can't be handled in that manner. This is also not a level to camp, as far as I've seen.

On to the tactics.

Don't med in the middle of the dungeon if you can help it. Don't go afk for any reason unless it's a serious emergency.

As you zone in, if you follow the hall to the end there's a relatively safe area to med behind some fallen rocks. Use that if you must, or zone out to med/heal up. Keep yourself as full as possible as long as possible, and keep in a tight group. Good group for this zone right now is Tank, Healer, Rogue, Nuker. Pally/Wiz worked fairly well, but with a good number of retreats. Cleric/Ranger worked extremely well, as did Pally/Cleric/Ranger. But DANG I wished I had a thief with me, as that first key is next to impossible to get.

On the first floor, and subsequent floors as well, there are several NPC's that you'll have to take into account as you move along. For instance, if you move into a room with 2 NPC's you often should NOT all gang up on one then move on to the other. As you're beating on the first, the other will often be healing it and casting DD spells and DoTs on you. Instead, split your party and take them simultaneously.

Spells that I've gotten hit with in the dungeon since it's most recent change:

EarthElementalAttackSpell (that's how it reads onscreen)
Heat Blood
Darkness
Root
Smite
Disease Cloud
Strong Disease

Note that most of the NPC's in this zone will not run at low health. They (mostly, but not always) fight to the death. For that reason it's nice to have a ranger around to snare them early on. Not to mention that snare is nice aggro management if your tank/cleric is getting whomped on too heavily.

The raised servants have pets. Again, split your party and take them both on at the same time. Otherwise the pet will root you and once knockback has taken you out of striking range you'll just get womped by spells while you try to remove the pet.

Just because it's green doesn't mean it can't kill you. I saw a 34 on the first floor try to solo the floor and get whomped on big time. If you see your mob getting healed, try to drag them out of casting range. Look around for the caster that's healing him, and split your party to take the healer out at the same time.

Using these tactics we were able to make a good 50 plat/RL-hour just on the bronze/fine steel/cast iron drops from the first floor.

Hope this keeps some folks alive, and flame on if you disagree. I can take it!

Add charm to the list of spells you can be attacked with in here. I dropped in last night to check out the changes (wow what a diff!) and I had PC's whacking on me. Camping Gynok has gotten a little more interesting :)

I was wondering if it was even worth trying to get in here. I was planning on going in Befallen just for XP cuz no one ever goes there anymore, OR so I thought. Vernat had to throw new items and MOBs in there now I hear it is overrun by 50+ people. I was wondering if I should even try to get in there or not.

You may as well.

It's up to you. Everything will now agro you regardless of level, so considers that.

Most of the "Good" stuff in Befallen is No Drop, so you'll have to consider that as well.

Is it worth it? No, most of the good stuff is No Drop and there are better items available that aren't no drop that you can get cheaply or camp yourself, so why bother? The only reason I can think of to bother with the new Befallen is just to say you did and show it off (But who cares when it looks like every other item in the game and people have screaming fits when you inspect them anyway, right?)

General Level Range 5 - 20 (<pfffft)

I went in with a full group of Level 10-12ish Characters and its chaos... We could just about hold our own against some of the new creatures, but with so many of the Higer level mobs being pulled to the exit, plus about three group in there, its impossible to see what is going on..

I deceided to go back in with my 14th Lev Troll Shammy and help out my group, but i was killed within a min, I got rooted by something (not a ghoul) and attacked by about 4mobs at the top of the steps....

Needless to say I am not going back there....

This is a higer level dungeon now, no more 5th level Chars popping in to kill some skellys for some nice xp =(
The Keys still drop in Befallen
# Jun 30 2001 at 7:48 AM Rating: Decent
Yes the keys, still drop or atleast the the Bone Key (forget proper name) and Smoked Glass key.

The Bone key drops off of a new named mob called Aeska L'Rei in the room with 2 doors (one on each end) and a stair case going into the wall.Take same rout you would to get second and third keys, but stop in the room with 2 doors where they are on opposits sides of the room. She spawns right on or in front of those stairs.

The Smoked Glass key is in the same room still. The mob is named Korven Niseres, but he spawns in a corner behind the big rock so you don't see him right as you enter ther room, so just look a little for that mob, small room not hard to find :).

As far as rarity on these spawns, I saw Aeska L'Rei once, and Korven Niseres Twice in a row, but never seen either of them afterwords any other times. I'd advise just kill the PH in the spots I said or kill all the mobs in the vacinity and wait to see. Hope this helps anyone. And yes I do have screen shots to back this up :).

If you had gone down to the 3rd level, you would understand that the little guys dont have a chance in this zone. Quite a few 50+ characters died when this zone opened due to bad pathing and agro issues, and some of the items dropping are good for players up until their 50s.

This is not a zone for low levels, or incompetent players.

It's at least a 1 hour camp to get the keys, or you need a rogue to get you out, or a 30+ druid/wizard to evac your group. I camped the second key holder for 3 hours and he didnt show.

Bottom line, if you dont all have gate, you need to be a TP capable party or have rogues to get out again. This is especially so if it gets ugly down there.

If you are in a caster heavy group 20-35, with the 6-8min respawn rate down there, you will die. If you are 35+, know how agro works, and take things carefully you "may" be able to hold one of the named spawn locations on the 3rd floor.

Really, by having all the 50+s in the zone the last few weeks it's been easier than the zone normally is.

I haven't been to Befallen in awhile. I haven't needed to practice lock picking for a bit :-)

How would you folks rate the zone's level of difficulty now on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors?
RE: So Is Befallen Still a Level 5-20 Zone?
# Jul 01 2001 at 11:25 AM Rating: Default
No.

My cleric was hunting there before the change. A lvl 9 almost everything on the top floor was green and she was getting good hunting on the second floor. At lvl 12, everything on the top two floors was blue to yellow. No more greens.

But that's not all. There seems to be an endless stream of mobs on the top floor. Tons of them, and they respawn faster than fruitflies. There's also lots of PCs running all over the place which seems to add to confusion. You're constantly bumping into people, getting attacked by NPC gangs, and jumping over corpses (from both PCs that died there and NPCs that aren't worth looting).

Now here's the funny thing. High level people die there. I went in there with my 31 druid and a couple friends (34 and 36) to take a look around. A minute after we walked in, an guy in his 50s died right in front of the zone. That made us a little nervous, but we tried to get a key. The 34 bard almost got killed by a green mob, and a little later my druid was drained to half life by another green. Those mobs hit pretty hard for being blue to yellow to a lvl 12. And they resisted some of my spells! They aggro on anybody, regardless of your level. They help each other. And sometimes they seem to pop out from nowhere.

But that's not the reason we eventually gave up on Befallen. We left because it's too hard to get a key to open the door to the second floor. There were too many people camping for it!

RE: So Is Befallen Still a Level 5-20 Zone?
# Jun 30 2001 at 12:54 AM Rating: Decent
well, in a word NO.
When I went, a group of lvl 12's were barely making it on the first floor.
At lvl 30 I was having a tough time of it in the basement. (a few days ago i could have taken every mob in the zone at the same time without breaking a sweat)
Also, now EVERYTHING will agro on you even if it is 100 levels lower....I had to kill 20 things just to jump down the well.

I'm getting sick of Verant ******** over the newbie characters like this. There are plenty of places for post 20 characters to hunt, but the choices for 8 to mid 20 is getting slimmer and slimmer...Runnyeye is now too dangerous for a lvl 21 to get too far in while soloing (ah for the days when it was possible, 2 months ago seems so long ago), now this farce of a change to the best newbie dungeon in the game. Makes me wonder how long until Verant bows to the multitudes of high lvl griping about the Warrens Trivial Loot System and leaves the zone filled with 50+'ers farming Cold Iron to sell to newbies (I know not all of you with char's that lvl are usless farmers, but you know some of you are).

Simply put, Verant is ******** low level characters while trying to get more people to sign up and fill the bank accounts of VI even more....doesn't make sense; what they gonna do, make it so characters start at lvl 20 so they dont' have to try to find one of the few remaining low level places to hunt when they make a new character?
Note just newbies getting shafted

Bah.

I spent many days leveling just to get to 30+ so that the punk aggro skellies would leave me alone long enough to take out the Thaumaturgist, so that I could get a useless dagger for my monk headband quest. Now it seems that not only do I have to get another 10+levels, but I have to convince a rogue (I know none) to come with me and pick locks, or a travel agent (wiz, druid) to port me out. What an unecessary hassle just to complete ONE STEP in the FIRST STAGE of my year-long epic quest.

Befallen is no longer a quiet, peaceful, run-of the mill dungeon, it has changed. There are now a multitude of dark elves and new undead mobs, both caster and non caster alike, along with many new drops. On the 3rd floor pristine studded leather drops, along with a caster veil and cleric wand. Needless to say, this dungeon has become better.

Also, there is a level <22 quest npc that doesn't attack, has approximately 256k hps, and drops a gossamer robe, so don't kill her, it's pointless.

I just happened to be one of the lucky few who was online and in West Commonlands when the Dark Elves moved in : )

There were several white text messages first about hearing the sound of thousands of feet aproaching then about the sound of thousands of feet leaving the Commonlands in Peace again....this may indeed imply that it is a temporary occupation.

A few other items I have learned since then are:
There are three new DE camps in WC. The DE's are on the same faction as Gix..the IndigoBrotherhood...and anyone who has messed with Gix knows that he has been giving a warning about the undead coming ...

A player who went into Befallen after claims that an NPC named Larnys or Larys or something like that is the Lady whom the DE's refer to

There is another new item dropping too...a shield cannot recall the name something something ribcage? or all the stats but it is +15 ac +15 charisma and at least one other bonus. I talked to the player who was Auctioning it and he told me that Clerics can equip this thing ! (but not Paladins(

Happy Hunting down there) The place has definitly changed BIG time and the zone was starting to get swamped with players when I had to Log..expect waiting lists for the new camps)

Aye, the mask indeed is nice. I looted one last night. It is all/all 4 int, 10 ch, 5 ac, 5 vs magic, and 5 mana. I do not know if the drops or mobs are permanent. I also saw a nice blade. I think it was called a servan't blade and was 11/30 slasher (1h i think)--also had some stats. Since I am a Mage, and it was no drop, I just left it for someone else to loot. Hope they did and it did not decay and go to waste.

But who drops the veil? I have to go to Befallen for my monk quest (should have killed that Thaumaturgist when I had the chance) and I'll be on the lookout for one of these veils when I go (yes, I realize the stats are geared more for casters but it has 5 AC and +5 MR which is better than the splitpaw mask I'm wearing now).

To all on the Tunare server. I, Erobate - Knight (Paladin) of Mithaniel Marr for 28+ seasons - will be ruling Befallen. I have taken up residency as of May 9, 2001 (in that weird RL time).

I have done so for a few reasons. First and foremost, I find joy in decimating the undead who believe it is they who rule this area. As I can not keep the dead from never coming back, there will always be young people coming to assist in the destruction. Therefore, another reason is to assist these young ones in times of trouble. Lastly, there are member of my guild who will find joy in some of the items that can be found on these undead minions. The young ones who enter my home (Befallen) will also find happiness and use of these items. I will pass these out(the ones I collect of course, I'm not camping these drops and keeping xp getting chars from getting them) as I see fit to those that are in my home (Befallen) and to those outside of my home. I foresee the very young in the commons requiring the rod that miraculously helps in finding ones belongings after their god resurrects them.
If you are in my home (Befallen) when I am in residence, I will demand respect be given to all that adventure forth to destroy these undead. Be kind and I will gladly be there to assist you with my many available services, so please give a shout and I will do my best to assist you.

/ooc...As you can see, I am clearly more than adequately suited for this dungeon. There isn't much that can harm me. I am here for many reasons (mainly bone chips to use in faction quests). Though some items are needed by some alts. Don't worry, I'm not here to take anyones xp from them, and I'm serious about helping those in need. I'm certainly able to rescue those that fall thru the traps. Do not hesitate to ask for help. If I say I that I cannot, then there is a reason, it's nothing personal. And as a reminder from above, this is on Tunare. Good luck fellow Norrathians :)

Typical paladin. Not worth the flesh he's born in.
Are you so lame that you must hide in a tomb that is "supposedly" no challenge to you? Your not helping your guildmates or even your class by holding thier hands while you beat thier foes for them. paladin + Big Mouth = Braggart.
Do your job and get your lousy, worthless butt back out in the world and try to atone for your obvious failure to uphold any kind of Knightly virtues. If you wish to stay there and gloat over the undead become a necromancer. Otherwise shut up and move so others can enjoy the zone without your worthless hide.

Leave it to the touchy feely shadowknights (always wanting to touch me, silly "knights") to open their mouths and let spew vulgarities (and that terrible breath from eating all the carrion in Norrath).

Everyone needs a home, and I plan on turning Befallen into that. I never said I wasn't going to leave once in a while. Usually I'll be leaving because more of your nasty, smelly brethren will arrive, stinking up my home. Other times it will be to remove such scum like yourself from the cesspit known as Neriak.

Lastly, I was asked by Mithaniel Marr himself to go out and protect the young ones in what has become my new home. So, unless you'd like to argue with a God, then you should scurry back to your sewers like a good rat.

/ooc...Hopefully you are RP'ing, and if you are, then I applaud you :). If not, then.../pity. As time goes on, I wouldn't mind bantering this back and forth, but I'm have reasons for being in Befallen and I'm just trying to have a little fun while I'm there.

I was very pleased to discover your parents were slain by Shadowknights. Culling the herd is a part of OUR job. Not like your class. Healing and helping. Bah! Let them die. I'm supprised you made it as far as you did. Tender hearts make big targets and better trophies.
Enjoy what time you have in this life. When you die, you will meet up with your "god" and see just how truly pathetic he is in his true form. I would love to see the look in your soul's eyes as you realise you not only wasted your worship, but your life as well.
Enjoy killing weaker foes and believing yourself honorable and just. Shadowknights may be considered evil, but at least we know what is true in life and don't exists in a deluded dream of righteousness. Farewell, "knight".

The maximum VS minimum level range of monsters is exactly 3-27. Giant Rats to Boondin Babbinsort.

Last night my friend fell down the pit from lvl 1 and needed help so being as i am a Paladin i naturally jumped down to help him and since he did not have any knowledge of Befallen we ended up with a nasty mob around the corner in the Thaumaturgists room. Well my friend died and decided to log for the night. He will get his corpse another time and just gate out. So here i am lvl 23 and no keys in the basement. Well i logged and read one way out was to die in a pit opening and summon corpse. It cost me half bub xp, but it worked and since i was alone in zone it was the best and safest way out. Who knows how many more times i would have died trying to get keys or unlocking doors with mobs on me, the tip i read here saved me a lot of time and frustration. Just a note to say thanks and let people know it did work (at least for me).

A level 23 paladin should be able to kill the ogre SK down there, who has the key to the door.

# Apr 02 2001 at 10:21 AM Rating: Default
Trouble is that the SK is the wrong side of the door. You need to kill the SK Ogre on level 2 to obtain the Smaoked Glass Key to open the door to get down to level 3. If you fell through the pit on level 1 you're already beyond the locked door on level 3.

good place for rogues
# Feb 07 2001 at 11:13 PM Rating: Default
As a 10th lvl DE rogue, I find this a great place to hone my skills. I practice lockpicking on the doors (they are all easy, but keep a spare set of lockpicks in the bank for emergencies). can practice hide and sneak and tactics of approaching targets and backstabbing them. Develop a good sense of caution and paranoia. Good loot even off normal Skeletons, with an xp bonus thrown in. And, you can make a killing dragging corpses for all those fools who jump down the hole to the third floor.

Hollish Tnoops

Ok, I know that Hollish Tnoops is some dark elf that runs into a wall right outside (litterally) the West Freeport gate and then dissapears. Is it a bug or what. Some people say he dies, but I really don't think so. So could someone clear that up for me? Thanks

Not where he runs into the wall, it isn't. There are two secret sewer entrances on that side of Freeport, one that leads to the Freeport dark classes guild
Dying on the 3rd Floor
# Jan 31 2001 at 12:29 PM Rating: Default
If by chance you find yourself stuck on the 3rd floor. Another corpse recover method is also possible.

Instead of dying by the third lvl door thats locked get yourself killed in the area of the hole or in the room with the hole.

After Dying there make your way down to the room above and summon your corpse from there. Or ask a Magic user If the can go get it for you...all they need do is Bind themselves to an area close to there and jump in the hole target the corpse and gate out...then summon it up.

Another way would be to find a high level(25+) ask them to go get your corpse, and /consent them. They jump down drag your corpse up and boom you've got your corpse.

P.S. Make sure they have plenty of health and mana in case things go wrong.

find a group befallen "can" be a death trap alone. so bring some friends and hopefully have a rouge in your group too. this will help incase everyone dies or someone falls down a well and you all want to try to save the poor fool ( i did that once but i was lvl 16 and had no trouble soloing undead until 4 showed up and killed me)
RE: Teeil
# Nov 06 2000 at 5:37 AM Rating: Default
You should probably wait until 12. At 12, you can probably solo Lrodd, although it will be difficult. Just hit him, and cast Ward Undead. If you need to you can run to zone ahead of time to fight him there, and zone if necessary. At 12 you should get GREAT xp off this guy. Just be careful, some of the skeles who conn high green will agg on you, and you won't stand a chance if something is constantly interrupting your ward undead. I still camp this guy, and at level 13, I got half a bar of experience from him in three hours. Only bad thing is he drops no loot. =(

He is deffinately NOT lvl 7-9 more like 10-12...

He coned blue and sometimes white to my lvl 12 war.

Oh one more thing if the other mobs don't aggro on you when you fight another one, kill Lrodd first. I had fun killing decaying skeles with one hit when Lrodd came and attacked me :)

I'm a (low) lv. 15 druid....
I have taken him down a few times when I got bored...
I used 3-4 bubs of mana And my magic hammer.
NO PROBLEM ;o)

He droped a tunic and a 'chipped bone rod'
(3 charges - locate corpse)

I'm not shure he will be aesy for U but bring a friend with a nice heal... Then U can take turns killing him... He IS great XP!

Escape from the 3rd floor
# Sep 22 2000 at 4:07 PM Rating: Decent
Here is a tactic I have used many times to escape the 3rd floor without having a key, if you fall into the vacant room from the lady shadowknight's room on level 2. You also must have levitate cast on you via someone in the dungeon or a brave soul dropping thru to help you.
When you fall in this room do not move, stay away from the door as there is usually a MoB outside that will aggro on you if you get too close. When you are levitated, just run up the pile of dirt in the room and you will pop up into the room you fell from. It is similiar to getting past the throne in crushbone for large races. You may have to try a few times but I have done this many times.
Remember, getting a corpse from 2nd floor is more doable than getting a 3rd floor corpse.

well if your in a guild or have a nice druid friend get them to port you to the WC circle the spells can reach you from the top of the tunnel (this will only work if you are in a group and the leader is still on lvl 1 or 2 ,depending on which well you fell down) if that doesnt work stay there and wait there are always high lvl players on lvl three just ask around someone should help you clear the rooms and make your way to the door.

if you consent someone in third floor to drag zour corpse under the well ,you can drag your body up from the top of the well in 1st floor next to skeleton Llrod .

I have lost count of the amount of times I have had a corpse trapped in various rooms in the 3rd floor.
Everytime it has happened, I have been fortunate enough that a high(er) level player has been able to help.
I hope that the time when I am able to help others in such a fashion isn't too far away :-)
Loot by spawn and rate
# Sep 06 2000 at 6:21 PM Rating: Excellent
Well, I feel that a detailed account of the benefits of befallen are worthwhile. Here is a level by level account of the loot a brave adventurer can find in this haven of evil.

Level 1:
Gynok Moltor: He is the named mummy that drops the platnium (or if you are unlucky the copper) ring for the Paw of Opolla quest. This is a high level druid held item and as such is usually camped most of the time. He spawns 8% of the time on a 16 minute cycle, else a placeholder spawns in his spot. The placeholder needs to be killed to start the next 16 minute cycle. The ring itself can sell for 1k, the paw can go for 2.5k. He is about level 25.

Male Dark Elf Shadowknight: This sk drops the splintered wood key needed to open the first door. He also may drop a chipped bone rod, which has 3 charges of locate corpse. He, like the rest of the dungeon unless otherwise noted, is on a 20 minute spawn rate. I've never seen a placeholder for him. He is about level 7-9.

Level 2:
Female Human Shadowknight: She drops a splintered wood key and a charred bone key, which is used for opening the door to the ogre sk. She also may drop an Antiqued Silver Band, an +2 AC ring. She will occationally have a placeholder. She is about level 12.

Male Ogre Shadowknight: He drops the charred bone key and the 'no rent' smoked glass key, which opens the door to the third level. He will sometimes have Barbed Arms, same stats as banded with +2 dex. He will sometimes have a placeholder. He is about level 14.

Level 3:
Elf Skeleton: He is a semi-rare spawn at the door of the third level. He drops one of two pieces of the three piece Thex Mallet. He is about level 18.

Female Dark Elf Shadowknight: She is a fairly rare spawn with a placeholder every 20 minutes. She drops the smoked glass key and often drops barbed legs, same as banded but with +2 agility. She is about level 18.

Boodin Babbinsbort: He is a fairly rare spawning 25th level necromancer. He has faction as well and as such may not KOS like most the dungeon. He drops the 'no drop, lore' Icon of the Ardent for the cleric quest guantlets.

Male Troll Shadowknight: He is a rare spawn with placeholders every 20 minutes. He drops the smoked glass key and will either drop a Bone Bladed Claymore (17 damage 45 delay -8 agility) or a bronze claymore. He is about 20th level.

The Thaumaturgist: She or Priest Azmaiz or a placeholder spawns every 20 minutes. She will either drop a Gossimer Robe (ac 8 casters) or a Thaumaturgist Robe (ac5 +3 Agility casters). She is about 18th level.

Priest Azmiaz: He or The Thaumaturgist or a placeholder spawns every 20 minutes. He drops either a Blackened Wand (monk quest item) or a Dagger of Marnek (3 Damage, 30 Delay magic piercing, range, necromancer only) This item also gives +3 intellegence and 15 mana. He is about level 18.

Commander Windstream: He is a forced spawn by giving Lrodd the note from Kidean Gix. He drops the third piece to the Thex Mallet (5 Damage 30 Delay magic, +5 save vs magic 1hb) This also is part of another quest for the Reaper of the Dead (12 Damage 40 Delay, +4 strength, 1 charge complete healing, magic 2hs) He is about level 25.

Other random drops are semi-rare bronze weapons and ultra rare damask armor.

Good Luck =)
