The Plane of Innovation is an industrial wasteland that surrounds a massive factory. Narrow valleys filled with refuse cut through tremendous heaps of junk. Small niches have been dug out of the junk by old, cast-off clockwork automatons that were long ago replaced in the Factory by newer, more efficient models. These derelict beings retain a built-in desire to exist, and so they scour the factory junkyard for spare parts to help maintain themselves.

Affairs inside the Factory are largely a mystery. The Factory buzzes as production teams work to produce an inexplicable machine near the center of the plane.

In order to improve themselves, the clockworks have taken an interest in humanoid biology. The steam-filled hallways are hazardous to all but the machines that created them.

Level 46 is required to enter the zone without a key on the live servers.

What about me?

PoP is said to be 46 and higher.
What can I hunt in here...or any of the PoP zones?

About the only place I would advise at 48th is the zone out camp in Justice. First thing... wolf form is KoS, Bear form is okay. Mentioned it since it looked like your a druid.

Go through the stairs to the cell area and take one of the hallway that leads in the direction you came from towards the exit door (click on it to zone out). At 48th you should bring at least a few friends, but its doable if your smart and cautious. None of the mobs near zone in have faction or are automatically KoS.

Have your puller buffed, go to the cells with the iksar war/thief Sralm. When the hallways clear of rats and sentries, and no one has any cell doors open, run in and pull him. He's hits reasonably fast for up to 140? He's slowable, will flee but can be snared/rooted. When he's dead you have approximately 15 minutes.

Pull rats next when no sentries are near. If all rats are cleared and Sralm repopped you might try a sentry, but be warned. They will warp around and eventually to you. Have you puller stand 100% still near zone out while he warps and it should get there faster (it will try and recalc path each time he moves). If the rats aren't cleared, this might bring them. There are two sentries that patrol, be ready if the second comes.

Finally, start pulling the prisoners. Each one has special abilites based on what you would expect from a class in that race. Gnome female is a caster, Dwarf female is cleric(will gate), Drake is wizard? DE male is SK, etc. Make sure you snare or root them before they flee and aggro others.

This is a much easier camp than the other planes where zone in trash hits for 250-400 and in Disease can cast but trains of KoS mobs from deeper in Justice sometimes happen. Zone if unsure, you can set up again within 3 minutes.

Yeah, and even then, it's hard to get a group at lvl 53 when there's a lvl 61 of the same class standing behind you LFG. Smiley: banghead

Wtf are you guys on? It is the easiest thing to get a group in PoJ, no matter what level you are. I went from 48 to 52 there in no time flat. Some days I didn't get a group, but about 75% of the time you can get a group. Or if you have a guild, start asking for people who want to start a group in PoJ. Its good exp so usually you will get takers. Now that im lvl 52 ive moved on to PoI. Because its better exp now, and I'm getting items for my Cloak of Greater Pernicity (for my bstlord) anyway thats my 2cp

Level 46 players should not realistically expect to hunt in the Planes. At 46 the portals will permit them to enter SOME planes, but the level of the MoBs is such that it would NOT be smart. This as it has been with the Planes of Fear, Hate, Sky...etc.

I am lvl 53, and was fortunate enough to get into a POI group with lvl 55-61 players. It was a very smart, very coordinated group. I was the baby, my job was only to slow and to heal the Cleric if she was being attacked. At least with the 60+ Bard singing a magic resistance lowering song, I was usually able to land a slow on the first shot.

I was making slightly over two blues of exp per hour, which is about TWICE what I get fighting with a group in KC.

However, the next evening I went BACK to the POI hoping to find another group. After an hour of asking, all I managed to accomplish was to get myself killed by one of several trains. 53 just wasn't going to cut it when there were lvl 61 Shamen looking for a group, too.

Basically, Plane of Innovation STARTS in the mid fifties, IF you are with a good group. MoBs here hit for 250 (usually double hit), and I'm told MoBs in the Plane of Disease hit for 400 to 500.

The only way a 46 could hunt here would if they were in a STRONG group of low to mid 60s who were basically babysitting.

Sorry, but it's better you know before trying to go there unprepared.

This is an over-cautious view of the planes. A group with a solid 50+ tank, 52+ CLR, 52+ slower, 50+ mezzer and a couple of 49+ damage dealers can do just fine here, though I would suggest staying at the zone-in to fight in case it gets dicy. I'm 53 on one char and 50 on another. Have been grouping here for a couple of levels now. Playing a 49 WAR in this zone is crazy exp, but you cannot MT even when mobs are slowed. Now that I'm 50 I think I could, but would require careful attention to buffs and a good cleric.

My 53 necro just soloed a mob here for the first time, though someone else slowed it. It was a close fight, and I had to carefully keep pact on my pet at all times so that he did not die (was also using Splurt and BoD). It was a btm mob, perhaps the eratic or obsolete. Our group's tank had died on the pull when slow landed a bit too late and cleric was a hair too slow. Everyone else zoned out, so I just kept on pet-tanking.

Don't underestimate the power of people who know how to play their classes well. :)

I would just like to say that a 49 war that is equiped to his lvl SHOULD be able to MT if there is a good cleric. I have a 51 pally now and was MT for a group a few times at 48 and 49. A 49 war has alot more hp then a 49 pally. my hp at 49 ran around 3.5k buffed. that is not that much for these mobs. but the cleric was able to keep me alive to tank them. I do agree that a player who knows their class has a better chance of staying alive. Now the other thing i want to add is that a 49 pally can not MT efficently, downtime was bad untill the rest of the group showed up. 60(maybe 61) pally became the MT and we had a 62 bard as CC. rest of the group was 50 or under. Now at 51 my stuns land on more mobs, and my hp is 4.5k buffed, so as a MT i do alright with 53 shammy heals and buffs. a cleric heals better but adds alot less dps then a shammy, more dps means faster pulls and more xp. ( the shammy has to know how to use the canni spells properly to pull of healer slower, buffer, and dps. Also the shammy i play with can tank if needed, not for long but long enough to off tank an add till i can pull agro from him!!)

Sorry but this is not true, just because only 55+ people are hunting in POP zone it does not mean that 55 and lower can not make good exp there too.

I camped with 50 in PoDisease and it was fun, flys are possible (Fear kiting with a Necor and Enchanter was realy fun *smile*)

Its like Sebilis, i play on the german EQ Server (Kael) and i was one of the first to finish the key, with level 39 on the same day we went to Sebilis, only 50- Player, we camped there for 2 hours and i got my Deathshroud *g*
But befor we made it, everyone told us it is impossible, only Level 50+ can hunt there.

******** i say, with a good group you can make it, even in pop

PoJ is the lowest level plane, but IMO it sucks for lower levels too many adds not enough room to move around. PoI is actually very easy, mobs hit for 200 yes but compared to trash mobs in PoD and PoN they are weak. I would reccomend the PoI entrance to anyone say 52 to 60 in a good group with a slower and a good tank and of course some sort of healer oh and get some KEI beforehand!

In the Plane of Tranquility, Folow the beach south form the zone-in until you get to the giant windmill. Go inside, around back where the gnome is, look up, and click the unmoving cog.
great zone

Was in a group here as a level 50 enchanter. EXP was very nice- best I've seen at 50 so far. Loot was all tinkering junk except for a pair of sleeves that I got- 5int 35mana, very nice. We were mainly fighting the mobs on the path to the right once you zone in. They have very low HP, low MR, but hit very hard. Mainly in the 53-55 range, and mez stuck almost all the time, with slow sticking about 5 out of 6 times. Was fairly unpredictable (read: fun), my only problem was lack of loot and if I were a gnome I would be in heaven. No faction hits on any of the mobs that I remember.

Edit- sorry about the sig. I haven't changed it in a long time.

Zoned in thinking "heck, I can explore". First thing I see is a dead cleric.. I blink, sit down and start scribing my spells when a corpse just appears ontop of me.. Apparently, all corpses appear at zone in about 10-20 mins after death. had a group here and it happened when we wiped (go egress, I lived lol). Anyways. I was able to solo most of the way to the junk yard, just pull with snare and root. Take some hits to pull another root if you have to, cuz moving back after moving foward isn't a good idea unless you like adds or death is your lingo. Mobs hit me for about 298 to 250 on average, have about.. 8k hp.. (Averaging in Winged Death, Drifting Death, and Drones, took about 3-4 casts of each for it to drop, not including the dmg from root)

Well it was very cool. Loaded PoP and headed to PoK. Soon after i met with a couple freinds Cleric 57 and Mage 53 and myself Ranger 56. We headed right for PoT and took a look around. A Tinkr freind wanted some spring so i suggested PoI for some fun. We zoned in and WOW. There was a raid setting up of around 20 people. We thought what the heck pull a single /conned DB and see what happens. Easy single pull to zone. HIts like a bish. Cleric was on me though. The raid jumped in not sure if they thought it was them starting or what. We figure we could have handled no problem. Bring a chanter in case of adds/pet and KEI and a slower and you'll be rocking.

Looked like the path around the zone was ment to be run like a guantlet. No camp just plow. We never got the plow part right bnut had a ton of fun. We mad the junk yard and did some pulls from a door to the right side. Never saw the junkyard beast.

Anyone been here who can tell if there are faction hits against any of the AkAnon factions? Seems that some new Tinkering componants drop here , would suck to have to collect items and then get negative faction with your hometown..

PoI is not affiliated with Ak'Anon. It is where all the obsolete, broken-down, failures get dumped.

For 'failures', the gnomes sure dump some badarse creatures there =/

I zoned invis to look around. One or two things saw through (erratic or corroded cant remember). Was only a couple that saw through, not all of a certain type.

Rooted a corroded clockwork, ensnared, dotted. Resisted Breath of Ro. Was about to try debuff when an erratic clockwork aggro'd me. Resisted one root while hitting for 236 max. 2nd root took and I gated.
GNOME PUNTING
# Oct 22 2002 at 2:58 PM Rating: Decent
There are supposed to be gnomes here to punt!

Here is a quote from that eqatlas book about the zone:

"Many gnomes, having tuned their minds to become one with their machinery, have been allowed to enter the plane. Here, their imaginations feed off the plane itself and their creations have been more innovative and, at time, more absurd than anything they could have ever dreamed up on Norrath. They have contributed several inventions for use in the factory."

I'm looking forward to visiting this zone for some GNOME PUNTING!

# Jan 17 2005 at 10:10 PM Rating: Decent
Advice. Some of the gnomes can punt an ogre a long way, be careful which gnomes you try to punt!

Junk Beast
# Oct 22 2002 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
I took about 14 mid 50s through this zone to take a look around.
if you take a left at Zone in then follow that path ( since it doesn't branch for quite a ways) until you get to an open area with a gate on your right, some mobs to the left and another path straight ahead you will find the "Junk Beast"
I can only assume he's a rare. He cons blue at lvl 61 ( other say he's 60) and hits for 970 max. He is slowable however.
On the way there there was only 2 places where we had to use a FD puller to limit the pull to 2 or less mobs.
His power caught my mini-raid unawares and we were forced to evac. Overall this zone seems kinda boring so far.

Oh yeah I can also confirm enterance mobs hitting for 250-ish, but it should be noted that they only double attack, and don't attack very fast to begin with, and most can be slowed. Later in the zone are variations that can't be.
Ouch
# Oct 22 2002 at 9:26 AM Rating: Default
Went into zone only to be told by 2 level 60 players that the mobs at the entrance hit in the 250 range.....can you say "LOADING, PLEASE WAIT"?

I promptly clicked out of there. *bye*
