This is the revamped version that released with Lost Dungeons of Norrath. However on progression servers, it releases with Gates of Discord.

Full of invisible walls, one-sided doors, twisting halls, and plenty of peculiar inhabitants, it is clear where the Plane of Mischief gets its name. Entrances are located at the southern end of the river in the Great Divide, and in the northern wing of the Temple of Veeshan.

We basically just stayed by zone in where the woods are being the first time in zone. most everything was red with a few yellows thrown in.I was just curious Is there a way to port out with out going through the whole zone?

let me in!
# Oct 17 2003 at 2:18 AM Rating: Decent
so how do you get into the castle, since the ramp leading up to it is an illusion?
RE: let me in!
# Oct 17 2003 at 11:51 AM Rating: Decent
There is an invisible bridge. If you zone in, find the moat full of water surrounding the castle, and follow it past the illusion bridge. Where the long straight part of moat makes a slight direction change (it is the corner of the two directions) is the invisible bridge.

Have lev on and you should be able to find it no prob :)

The new entrance to PoM is in the small cave at the Southern end of the stream running through the middle of The Great Divide. There is a small "dollhouse" castle sitting in the middle of the stream just inside the cave. Click on the tiny castle to enter the Plane of Mischief.

Is anyone else a little disappointed by the new updated version of PoM? I mean, from what i can tell (never been there) and heard, its basically just another go in, kill mobs, go out kinda place now. I was really lookin forward to goin in there and messin with all the funny name mobs and just havin a good time, looks like thats no longer an option =(

Can someone please tell me if this zone still has a fun aspect to it, or is it just another watered-down version of all the other uber planes?

From reading these posts I'm a little upset I never visited the old PoM. I've been there several times since the revamp and it's given me nothing but headaches. Geez, talk about a pain in the *** zone. I can usually avoid traps by looking through walls on my horse, but there's always someone who falls and we all have to follow. Traps here are so much worse than in howling stones in the way that once you fall you have to find your way out of a maze. I've never made any progress there since going, and I really don't have any desire to learn my way around that castle.
RE: Change

I never went to the old PoM, but I had a blast last night in the new one. Granted we were KoS to all mobs, but the zone was still tons of fun. Running around through false walls and falling into mazes through the floor made the entire thing an adventure. I've never had a much fun in a zone while still doing something productive as far as exp and loot goes.
RE: Change
# Oct 17 2003 at 6:07 PM Rating: Default
I completely agree. I think they totally destroyed the spirit of what PoM used to be. It was IMO truely the most fun place to explore in the game! Not only cause of the utter wackyness but because you were free (well sorta mwahaha) to roam about the zone without being attacked by mobs in most places.

They took what was supposed to be a novelty zone and just lumped it in with the rest of the planes which truely saddens me. They even changed Bristlebane into another one of those let's group 72ppl and kill him kinda mobs.

From a rogue's perspective it's very dismal

The way PoM is now is the way most exp zones should be. It has character, it must be learned, it has great mobs and loot appropriate for the level. It's sad the old PoM had to go away, but not nearly as sad as the fact that this is one of the very few superbly designed, interesting and unique exp zones.
RE: Change
# Jul 29 2004 at 5:11 AM Rating: Decent
the changes are not bad, you have to fight the mobs but deeper in i was getting bots type AAexp. the zone still has upside down part, sideways room very unique no rants from this happy camper
RE: Change
# Oct 13 2003 at 9:48 PM Rating: Decent
They killed PoM :(

That zone used to be really different from the usual exp zones. Not only because of the interaction with mobs but also because of its inaccessibility.
Most of the fun was getting to know the zone and after a while you would start collecting cards needed for certain quest items.

Now PoM is only a shadow of what it once was. I think its pretty symbolic of what the game as become... boring and completly deprived of any role playing content.

I tried going to the www.planeofmischief.com site today to gather some info, and I only got a DNS "placeholder" page. Anybody know if the site is permanently down? If so, has the content been moved somewhere else?

Got friends there atm also and we can't find out anything from GM's cause of course they not even responding. 8 hr petition still in about this...

Puppets
# Jul 30 2002 at 3:33 PM Rating: Excellent
Hardest ones imo are Rallos, Inno, and Solusek Ro. 7 of them form a straight line and are pretty right next to each other. The other 2, Tunare and BB are closer to the stage decently spaced out from each other.

If you're facing the audience, the line-forming puppets from left to right are: Tribunal X3, Inno, Erollisi, Rallos, and Solusek Ro. Between me (barbarian shaman) and an ikkie monk, all puppets conned the same. Tribunal is indif, inno is kos, ero is indif, rallos is kos, and solusek ro is kos. Tunare was kos too, but BB was indif.

Ok, now that I explained layout, here's my recommendation on how to go about killing them.

First and foremost, ya have to kill Geb when he walks in and takes a seat at the back of the amphitheatre. I tried killing him solo, but he despawned at around 10am with 20% left. So I got monk to help me, and we smoked him. Killign Geb makes the puppets stay up for the rest of the day.

Ok, now that the puppets won't despawn for a day, I'd first kill all kos puppets first. The non-kos ones won't assist, not even the tribunal triplets. Start by killing Solusek Ro, Rallos, Inno, and then Tunare. Solusek Ro is on the far edge of the line so it's logical he should be killed first as you can keep your distance from Rallos.

Once you've killed all kos puppets, if there's still time, proceed to kill the non-kos ones until Geb respawns next morning.

A tip for shamans or any debuffing class: These puppets summon, but only when damage is inflicted on them. So before actually engaging any puppet, slow him first so that at least if and when he starts summoning you, it won't be that big a deal.
Alice in Wonderland
# Jul 30 2002 at 3:21 PM Rating: Excellent
I noticed for one some of the mobs in this area were not included in the beastiary like the rat, gorilla, and halfling twins.

Anyways, Alice in Wonderland is a very interesting area. It's like going through the same exact sets of rooms each time, except the rooms get bigger and bigger till the 4th level where it stops. With the rooms getting bigger, mobs increase in level of difficulty too. Last set of mobs are level 56 I believe, around 20k hps, and enrage at end of fight. I've soloed AiW4 save the halfling twins since I can't split them (I'll be damned if I try line of sight pulling too :)).

The mobs in this area are slowable, the rat, the gorilla, and halfling twins. Think their mr increases as you progress, but you can still slow them in AiW4 after a couple tries (without malo tash or oos).

If you're a shaman, I'd ideally recommend the following: Torpor yourself right before pull, malo rat or gorilla, then immediatly followed by slow. Each fight takes me about 2 slows and 7-10 banes of knife (1800 dmg dot) + pet damage.

To be on the safe side I always reslow at half health, and ya pretty much gotta chain torpor because they hit pretty hard (160s).

One thing I also noticed, I don't know if it's pure lack of lack, but they interrupt me MUCH MORE than regular mobs. Think they hit a little faster even when slowed and they bash/kick pretty often. If a mage is in the area, ask him for a focus ring, it should help. I didn't, but I can tell ya I was starting to get pissed off after 6 consecutive torpor interrupts. Torpor is 6 second casting, and I even tried extra hard to time them right after he hit me, but between the bashes and melee knockbacks, got REALLY frustrating.
Rat Maze
# Jul 30 2002 at 3:09 PM Rating: Excellent
I've discussed this under the Ratman Rager thread, but the same principle applies to all rats in maze. At level 60 you can single pull any rat and continue fighting it without any risk of adds EXCEPT if you're sitting down during the fight. Might be exceedingly difficult for druids as they like to kite/med, but it's exceedingly easy for an oracle who gains most of his mana in combat through cannibalization/torpor.

An alternative for druids or any kiter for that matter is BUY A HORSE, trust me it will help. With a horse, you can med standing up, no matter what horse ya get, so I imagine it would be extremly useful in the maze.

On the flip side, I've noticed that rats assist when a level 56 druid gets involved in fight. So the logical deduction is those rats can only be single pulled by someone 57 or above, but I can't tell ya exactly what level, don't know. I'm 60, that's all that matters really :-)

yes, it is definately in temple of veeshan, I've seen many people on my server go there, and they were just previously in that zone, so unless they port with some sort of undiscovered spell that can be used only in there, then yes, it's in there.

Plane of Mischief.... Lets see now...it's at the back of Temple of Veshan... You need a good guild of 40+ Ub0r Guild of 24+ to get there... All mobs geting there see invis so that means your fighting your way there. For thouse on CoV faction your still KoS this is Testing Halls Section Then if you want to go there you can Kill the god with 3 people... If there ub0r pimp 3 lvl 60's can clear the whole zone, I'm planing on soloing there 53 chanter.. and geting good xp. Almost nothing in the zone agro's. Nice place some really weird looking stuff to ;P So anyways go lvl and get in a good guild.

Anyone hear of A plane of Music? i talked to a bard in West Freeport and he was talking about the plane of music
RE: PLANE OF MUSIC
# Dec 17 2001 at 7:04 PM Rating: Default
I dont think that there'd be a plane of music. There isnt anything in the game files about it, and also there is not a god of music. So i dont think it'd make sense for there to be one. Although if he was talkin about a plane, if you could get anything specific something interesting could happen. Good hunt to ya.

One question... Why would pallies, rangers, bards or rogues go to this plane? especially rangers and rogues? nothing there for us but the crappy all/all items and one wristguard for ranger/druid. Blah.. can't go to PoG (as a karana ranger) and no no real reason to go to PoM... /cry verant.. i want so good stuff from PoM =(

As a wizard, I often ask myself the same question as I'm porting groups up to the Plane of Hate. There is basically nothing for intelligence casters on this plane. But it's very easy to answer why I do that; I see my melee and clerical guildmates around me drooling over the possibilities of drops. That's when I smile and think to myself that I'm glad to be there. And I know that someday they will be there to help me out when I need something. And that, my friend, is high level everquest for ya. There is some give and take in this game, and PoM will be a give for rogues, ranger and bards, but you will get your share of taking in Hate and other areas. Think long term sometimes, you'll be happier you did.

To answer your selfish question... Because those clerics and casters are keeping your armor clade bum alive, and its just showing some respect. How would you like it if you really needed some armor, and it was like the best stuff in the game, with your guild more than capable of getting it for you, but when it came time to raid, they realized, only thing theyd be getting from the raid was some fun, and the satisfaction of seeing you happy... and they all left. Think of others before yourself at least half of the time, you might be able to get into a good guild and find some good friends who enjoy seeing eachother have a good time. Sometimes that good time means a little sacrifice.

There have been rumors floating around, although I don't know how founded they may be, about another plane opening after SoL comes into play. There is nothing to prove this other that complete and total rumor, though we will probably see more about this when SoL gets close and closer.

If you look at all the names of the monsters in the PoM, you'll notice that four of them have all caps.
The mobs: YOU, SHALL, NOT, and PASS and all in caps.

Odd, that even spells something out, doesn't it. : )
WTF ??

either this is REALLY old news or you all are just ranting tossing in the names of ubber guilds to prove your worth to this date this zone has been broken a few times ....

Personally i'm not in a guild but i still have options to go here.. People sitting here whinning cause another guild wont tell them info or cause a guild is better then them is LAME if you're that mad about it THIS is what you do :

(1) SHUT UP !!!!
(2) Get off the meesage board and go learn how to play your character
(3) Get massive levels and make yourself useful
(4) meet as many people as you can without whining or begging them for something
(5) Don't expect anything from anybody EVER
(6) Fill out an App and ask to join a raid or 2 with um ....

THERE now do it and stop annoying me while i'm searching for info GRRRRR
Safety?
