This is the planar home of Tunare, the goddess of nature. It's entered via a portal at the top of the tower in the northern part of the Wakening Land.

There is no known way to regain faction in this plane once you've damaged it. The moment an enemy of Tunare steps into the plane, the Protectors of Growth will be sent to hunt them down.

Campfires can be placed in Plane of Growth, however characters must meet the zone level requirements in order to use the campfire for entry e.g. a level 1 character cannot campfire into Plane of Growth (tested and confirmed).

After clearing the zone I went up to Tunare's platform. Since she wasn't up, I sat down to load a gate spell. I was immediately attacked by a bunch of mobs called "a warm light". They barely hit me but I could never see where they were. I sent my pet after one but then I couldn't see my pet either and it wasn't hitting anything. Weird. So I started nuking one on my target screen and it had a TON of HP. Would estimate maybe a million. And it resisted almost all my nukes. Not sure what these mobs are or what they are for, but you may want to list them here anyway.

Yet another zone with 4....that's right. FOUR F**KING FACTION HITS, and not one faction raised. You would think that since Shadowknights and Necros, and some other different evil classes/races are enemies to Tunare that maybe....Oh, I don't know, Paineel or Neriak faction would be raised? But Nooooooo, just sh*tty experience and loot, and ALL negative faction hits.

no +faction in any oldworld planes that i am aware of.

this was something you had to think about back in the day, if you hunted here as a high elf etc you would then become kos in your own town for killing in the realm of your god...

game does not have the realism it once had.

I gathered up a few of my buddies the other night to hit up PoG. I have a warrior friend who could really use some better gear, and even PoG gear is better than what he has in some cases. Anyway, here's what we went with.

65 Shaman
52 Warrior
56 Warrior
62 Monk
70 Cleric (Boted)

The zone in was probably the most difficult part, however in this post PoP era, the only thing that makes this place hard is how many HPs all the mobs have. Even the lightblues to a level 65 took at least 2-3 min of hacking in order to get through.

All mobs are slowable and hit me for about 40-100, most of the time for 40.

The PoGs are still up and they just halt your armor search so kill them as fast as you can. :-) And they're respawn rate is 20min as has been posted before.

We made it all the way to the eastern wall across from Tunare's tree, just by following the west wall north, to the north wall then across. Easy as pie.

If I had to do it again, (and I will cause I'm a sucker for this zone, cause it's old school like myself) I would bring one tank, a monk, and all the dps I could muster. Perhaps bringing a druid instead of a cleric so they can at least nuke. Unfortunatly Druid like PoG cause it's the land of Tunare, blah blah blah.

Anyway, we were there for 3 hours and didn't get one piece of armor to drop. They may have decreased the drop rate, but back in the day it seemed like armor dropped all the time.

That's all.

Peace

Just a clarification...from what I have read and heard, the primary reason Druids are resistant to helping kill things in POG is that they take faction hits that (a) cannot be mended and (b) prevent them from certain quests vital to Druids.

Kill even one thing in POG, help someone killing even one thing in POG...BAD BAD Very Very BAD for a Druid, even one that does not worship Tunare.

Does this post even have a point?

Yes, with my Druid, I'd never kill in PoG. I won't even go in there to track or buff/heal between fights!

And.. yeah, considering how many new expansions there are and the fact even PoP is old, PoGrowth most certainly is old school. Leave the guy be, he made a good post.

One thing that does confuse me, though.. from his description of the MOBs, hitting between 40 to 100, and generally low.. I mean, that makes PoValor look like hell, and I've seen many solo there. Why wouldn't PoGrowth be soloable? (Not to disagree with any posts.. its just a question. I haven't seen anyone talk about it being soloable, so I'm trying to figure out why.)

I believe PoG used to be soloed a lot until they added the annoying protector mobs that have zone-wide aggro. I may have a go with my Necro at some point, but I need to check them out first.

Forgot to add that the Protectors attack when you zone in, easily can kill them both at the same time, probably along with a swirling vortex kind of mob. Once they are dead you have 30? minutes to roam and find whatever you need before the Protectors respawn I think. Protectors are charmable, but break the charm quite fast it seemed.

Saw these posts while looking up an epic peice needed from here. I am a 70 SK with about 9.5k unbuffed and 2200 unbuffed AC and I solo very easy there. Aggro there is really nasty so usually if I catch a unicorn that I need, I zerg it and burn down regardless of adds, when its dead run off to the side and FD.. etc. Rinse and repeat.

Ha ha, I came to find my post 2 years later covered in manure.

I went back to PoG as a 70 Shaman and Solo'd through it. I still enjoy this zone even though it's very obsolete now.

The issue with soloing it is without root or snare sticking or some form of control the mobs wander off rather quickly. Plus with the ammount of hitpoints they have, when they begin to wander off they still have between 8-10k hps I'd guesstimate.

This caused some unwanted adds that really put a strain on the mana pool.

In the short time I was there I got quite a few armor drops and spell drops, so my first assumption that drop rate was nerf'd was inncorrect.

I'm taking my Wood Elf warrior there and ruining my faction. I still don't understand the problem with Druids and Rangers ruining their faction in this day and age. The only objection I could hear is being able to add Tribue at your hometown; for whatever that's worth.

Good times kids, I enjoyed reading this two year old rant. Carry on.

I am not sure if illusions will be effective or not here, but since he is an SK, it should be non-fatal to check things out yourself. The first issue is the fact the PoGs will aggro as soon as he drops invis anywhere in the zone to use an illusion potion, so you would have two options for this:

1) Have an enchanter cast an illusion like wood elf or high elf while he is invisible, or

2) Find a safe spot, use the potion, then FD off the PoG aggro, staying down for the 2 minutes to ensure they forget you.

After this, it is easy to check faction by conning a close creature. The nice thing is that he can FD, so he can easily check and if he is KOS in illusion to simply FD and get ported out by a friendly druid or wizard.

Most creatures here have a fairly small (i.e. normal) aggro radius EXCEPT for those $#%@ PoGs. They aggro zone wide. The nice thing is that it takes the PoGs over a minute to get to the port in area, giving plenty of time to cast spells, FD, and the like.

Just remember, if you do this, to have a porter near. Porting and gating are the only safe ways out of the zone. I heard that TLing causes aggro, even if you are non KOS. Dragging corpses definitely causes aggro, like in Kael.
Zone wide aggro
# Dec 07 2003 at 4:36 PM Rating: Decent
Well it would seem that having mobs that aggro zone wide is not worth it for a zone that doesnt have the best drops in the game. The fact that every 15 m,inutes you have to fight something other than you are killing sounds pretty crappy to me but whatever. anyways do these POG's drop anything good? also has anyone taken an agnostic vah shir shammy here, want to go splorin but dont wannt die(of course) and also are the POG's on the same faction as everything else? or will they just aggro everyone? thanks

The zone in is in Wakening Lands. I can't go there because I am a druid so I can't tell you more than that. Make sure that you are able to gate out (spell or potion) because you can not just zone out of this zone.

Just because your a druid doesnt mean you can't go. In fact because you are a druid you get one of the greatest advantages that any class can enjoy.... the ability to travel to a plane and not be KOS, just ask anyone who worships cazic, innoruuk, et al. This means you can run around the whole zone and say 'hello' to all the mobs, scout out camps etc. There have been many times where I was in an evil guild and we would have a friendly druid help the puller by tracking and scouting. So go and take a peek its fun, anyway my Smiley: twocents

Am I safe here
# Sep 03 2003 at 9:06 AM Rating: Decent
Possibly hugely stupid question, but i'd like to be sure about it:

I am a Tunare worshipping, wood-elf Druid. Is there anything in this zone that will have problems with me? Is there any one creature in this zone that is on less than indifferent faction with me?

I have always been a good follower of Tunare, killed some animals in the past i admit, (he who never committed a sin, may throw the first stone at me), but never indulged in even attacking druids, treants and the like.

And: is there anything for me to do in this zone, other than having tea with Tunare, going for the epic (in several levels to come), or forage goodies here?

Thx for your kind answers and may Tunare continue to bless you all.

ok, so you zone in with your buddies, one of which happens to be a druid. you feel like staying longer and say you'll ask for a port out later. so what if druid isnt available later? me and my ranger friend ran around the zone for quite some time checking stuff out and exploring. never found a way for him to get out without my help tho. cant find an already done map that leaves detailed info like that. any help?

I am a halfling Ranger with Karana as Diety. I am amiable with Faydark Champions and other Tunare factions except Jaggedpine (haven't had time to fix that yet). Will I be at least indifferent in POG? I haven't seen anyone else ask this question yet.
RE: Halfling Karana Ranger
# Dec 03 2003 at 12:07 PM Rating: Decent
You will be indifferent. I zoned in to Growth yesterday to forage for planar oak staffs. Wolf form makes you dubious but still not KoS. Nice zone and Tunare has a cool tree fort. Just wish there was something to do here while I forage. Maybe a small band of orcs to slay.
PoG's
# Jun 05 2003 at 6:17 AM Rating: Decent
As of June 4th 2003 the PoG's will now aggro zonewide as before. They will not only come running to the nearest PC they sometimes come in pairs in fact during our encounters with them they typically came in pairs spaced at 15 min intervals. I was with 2 other people at the time and had begun pulling shortly after a Tunare raid had concluded so the plane was fairly cleared and the PoG's were quite a nuisance as they run fast hit fast and are fairly resistant at 65 (shaman) they resisted slow everytime had to use Malos then slow. If you use to solo up there you may wish to reconsider, I can still solo there but its extremely risky and you spend most of your time preparing to or combating PoG's.

Barbarian Warriors that worship Tribunal or are Agnostic should be non-KoS.

Barbarian Warriors who worship Rallos Zek are KoS. RZ isn't a very evil God, but he's slightly more bad than good. And according to game-lore, he and Tunare have been fighting for eons.

Yes, it's true, but if you are hunting up here, then why would you need to go to Kelethin?

Repairing your faction with elves on Faydwer would quite literally take forever, and would not, imo, be worth the effort. The armor, however, is most definitely worth the sacrifice of faction.

Anyone know if they officially nerfed the PoG drop rate? My guild went up there 2x now and havnt seen any gear drop except off named mobs. If this is true, then they have take one of the cooler zones in the game and turned it into a Tunare only raid. PoG was a challenge for guilds along the lines of hate and fear, now that they seemed to have taken away loots, there is no reason to go. Exp sucks and the faction hit is fairly harsh for elfy races.

Did a decent amount of mobs on the West side of the zone last night, Rot won many armor drops, many drops came from trash mobs.

Mostly arms, bracers and boots.

Either you're having a nasty streak of bad luck or you're concerned about the East side of the zone, which we stay away from.

Hope the drops improve for you.
RE: PoG gear?? wtf??

The PoG guide below states at the bottom that the drop rate for the zone is painful - and that you won't see armor l3wts on your first, second, or even third trip. Overall - the guide was helpful. I was asked to pull here - but I think I'll try to find a bard to wrangle into pulling now.

Glad to here the wide zone aggro with the PoGs is gone.
