This is the planar home of Tunare, the goddess of nature. It's entered via a portal at the top of the tower in the northern part of the Wakening Land.

There is no known way to regain faction in this plane once you've damaged it. The moment an enemy of Tunare steps into the plane, the Protectors of Growth will be sent to hunt them down.

Is it worth trying to get a 120+ man army to try and kill tunare, or is she as nasty as the avatar of war?

Doktoor Roksteady, a fellow bladesinger and master pogpuller wrote this on our guild message board. I think that it's good enough to share with everyone.

OK, so you want to pull PoG? MUAHAHA! GL, you're heaping on yourself work and pain.

Ok, where to start...hmm, the beginning. PoG is pulled in sections. Before you read this...go to EQ maps and everlore and check out the maps of PoG so you know what I'm talking about.

PoG is a rectangle. The stream flows North to South the long way. One end is the waterfall, the other is the lake. The entrance is in the SouthWest corner...not too far from the lake. Tunare's tree is on the east side of the river, about midway between the east side of the zone (other side of teh river).

Ok, how to pull. First thing is, you have to clear mobs by species or they end up getting in the way down the line (had to clear all the wolves/horses you missed last night before we could pull the named tree).

1. RELY ON TRACK: Hit track before you start out...pull these mobs first. As you clear stuff out, run out just a few seconds and you can track all teh way to the river. As soon as you get a mob, use track to get back too by tracking group members.

2. PULL ALL MOBS ON WEST SIDE FIRST. The river is kinda a boundry. It separates the easy mobs (west flat side) from the harder mobs (east side...mountainy). The west side mobs drop the little armor (hands, bracer, boots, helms). The east side dorps the BP's and legs...both sides drop arms. While pulling the first side, you should pull as soon as you drop off mobs...they just get killed really fast and its more time efficient.

Ok, now how to do it. The first pull location is on the wall behind the port entry. (POGS INC EVERY 27 MINUTES FROM HERE).If you are on the west wall there (looking east) Hang a right first. Pull in the same direction so you clear the mobs out of a particular area. First go right, then go straight, then diagonal left, then straight left along the wall to clear a path to where you're gonna pull next. The first thing you do is pull all the horses and gale wolves. As you go diagonal, start getting some Spirit flux wolves (cannot be mezed).

DONT PASS RIVER. Its too long of a pull and there's better places to pull from. When all the gale wolves and horses are dead, you can start pulling North so the group can move towards the watefall. You'll start pulling the glade staukers and Sanguine Kodiaks. Pull it first so you dont get adds. NEVER MOVE THE GROUP UNTILL RIGHT AFTER POGS. This is uber important. We've had alot of CR's cause we moved, had adds, then had pogs come.

When you moved, you moved to the right place, you just hadnt cleared everything out. From the next spot (midway between the portal and the waterfall) you'll finish pulling the Spirit Flux wolves, Sanguine Kodiaks, and Glade staukers (POGS EVERY 28 MINUTES FROM HERE). Note: Again, looking east, pull diagonal right, straight, digonal left, then left all the way to the water fall. You can then move to the watefall (POGS EVERY 26 MINUTES FROM THE WATERFALL).

Thats the west side. Its actually really easy. The hard part is the East side which entails pulling the entollings, Feral Amalgyms, Phase Pumas, Sylvan Proctectors, and Thiftlings. Of these mobs, only the Feral Amalgyms can be mezed but only by a lvl 55 plus enchanter.

Pulling the phase pumas: If you want to pull the Keeper of the Glades, you have to get all the Phase Pumas. Theres usually 15 of them, but sometimes more or less. Everything on the east side has a HUGE wandering range unlike the mobs on the west side. This makes it really tough to pull them as you have to run a trillion miles to get them all.

When pulling the phase pumas, stay off the wall. The entollings mostly wander closest to the wall and you'll aggro like 5 of them if you get too close to it. The first thing you do when you pull the phase pumas is clear the close 10 to 15 mobs so you dont aggro them on the way back. EVERYTHING ON TRACK THAT YOU CAN PICK UP AT THE WATERFALL MUST DIE or you'll train. After you kill the close stuff, theres a nice channel to pull all the phase pumas thats nice and flat. It goes right past Tunare's tree. At the waterfall faceing South by Southwest, you'll run over a couple hills and find this channel. I'll try to show it to you next time we're up...running the same route back and forth is UBER important cause you'll just pick up lots of ****. You cant pull phase pumas without CoH btw. Eventually, you'll aggro a ton of **** and need it.

How to CoH pull the pumas. Get one on track and comit to pulling it. As you run, keep hitting track so you grab the closest one. I often stop to let the track button repop so i dont run too far. OK, youve pulled a puma and you now got 2 pumas, 3 entollings, and a Feral amalgym on you on your way back. Track your group, follow the channel back. The channel ends when the grass turns from light brown to light green, then you have to run over a couple small hills. CALL FOR COH RIGHT AS YOU HIT THE CHANGE IN TEH GRASS. With your group on track, you'll want to have the message saying "ahead and to the right." Dont run right at em or you'll run into them. Object is to get summoned with the mobs straight out in front of the group so you can go pull them. AFTER YOU CALL FOR COH, SWITCH TRACK FROM GROUP MEMBER TO A PHASE PUMA. This way, as soon as you get summoned, you can head right for it.

As you start to run out of phase pumas, you'll have to run really really far. The end range of the Puma's is right where the Serene Forest Spirits Start. These are yellow and green lvl 60 mobs that look like giant will o wisps (yellow ones drop bards legs/bp, green ones drop shammy legs/bp. IF you wanna pull these, you gotta pull them from the lake and you have to clear the Sylvan Protectors first). Before you pull the Keeper, you have to run all teh way into them, hit track, and check for more pumas. If you dont get them all and you pull the Keeper, its a CR. NEVER PULL A NAMED MOB UNTILL AFTER THE POGS. This is another thing i've learned by trial and error. When pulling the phase pumas, dont pull any with less then 5 minutes left before PoGS.

THIFTLINGS: Dont pull the thiftlings till i've shown you exactly where to set up, where to run, where to aggro, where to CoH, then how to pick them up. This took me a million tried to figure out and i found a good way of doing it, but i'll have to show you, I cant write it down. The thiflings are in 2 camps Each camp has around 10 thiftlings and a Protector which is a lvl 61 bear (pretty easy on his own). One camp also has Ordo and his assistant. Ordo's assistant drops the cleric/sk bp. He's around lvl 56. When pulling thiftlings, always have an FR buff cause they'll nuke the **** out of you.

Feral amalgyms and syvan protectors: You have to kill all teh Sylvans to pull Treah Greenroot. These 2 mobs have the largest range of any mob in PoG. They range the entire west side of the zone from North to South. Try and pull as many Feral Amalgyms as possible since theydrop the warrior BP and legs (which is really the most important gear up there as far as getting to ToV is concerned). Its a good idea to move the group along the river to P1200 P700 to pull all the Sylvans if you want to get Treah. THis is where clearing the west side is essential: If you dont clear the west side, the mobs will wander on to you at the river. The pathing for west side mobs goes east to west between teh west wall and the river.

SIDE NOTES:

1. Never pull the east side without a Coher.
2. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have MR or GMR buff on since you will have 478394738 root and snare attempts. If you get rooted or snared...you're dust.
3. HAVE DEFTDANCE HOTKEYED AND DONT BE AFRAID TO USE IT OFTEN.
4. Keep a FR buff up when pulling the West side.
5. Get yourself a countdown timer for pogs. YOu cant pull pog without a timer. You cant count on someone else to time the PoGs for you.
6. Wear resist jewelry. Keep FR and CR above 100 or youll get nailed with ICE which is a comon spell for them to cast. Its 640 dmg DD and its all or nothing. You want it to be nothing...if your CR is below 100, itll hit you alot. Over and you'll resist it 99 percent of the time.
7. Keep 2 illusions (iksar/de and werewolf) on top. You'll get dispelled ALOT (especially on the west side) and you dont wanna lose your MR or HP buff.
8. Direct traffic: Tell people what to hit and mez on multi pulls or they'll stand around like idiots or they'll attack a random mob and break mez. Dont be afraid to call targets. Make sure if you pull 2 spirit flux wolves(cant be mezed), for instance, that you /shout to split them or all the idiots will get on one or sit there waiting for something to happen.
9. ALWAYS ALWAYS have DMF when pulling the east side, especially for phase pumas.
10. WHen pulling the entrance mobs, make sure you vear around the entrance so you dont aggro the invisible Whorl of Natural energy. If you do, its like a 3 minute spawn so it'll be right back up. If you aggro it, make sure to hit escape, let it hit you, then /shout for everyone to assist you and kill the whorl or it'll kill everyone.
11. When pulling the west side, try to pull 2 at a time when you're pulling close to the river. This cuts down time down alot.
12. When you first enter the zone, the PoGs inc inc 4 to 5 minutes.

Yes, Melodic (not malodic) armor drops from mobs here. On the west side, glade stalkers drop bard and shaman boots, gaunts, bracers and helms. On the east side serene forest spirits drop bard/shaman bp's/greaves and vambraces.

There are some named mobs that will drop random class armor as well. Good luck in your hunts.

I am a 49th level halfling druid attempting a Court of Tunare quest. I believe my Tunare faction is decent as I've never hunted other druids or treants. Should I be able to waltz alone into PoG to do my quests? I need to talk to an NPC (Prince Thirnegin at Tunare's Tree), then leave. Would I be attacked by anything in the plane?

Heh...not much of a message here, just something to think about when going to PoG and camping a god. The Goddess Tunare resides here and when raiding she killed 105 of us. She can summon all PC's to her loc and cast a fatal aoe on party's and removing there ability to cast spells....its all up to skills from here. Next she will pursue the player chars with hits for up to 750.....if 105 can't win against her, I would like to know what can. Have any of you ever killed her before? If so how many peeps did it take and how what percentage of tanks?

when you zone in there is a whirl of natural energy, this hits 170s and aggros most ppl faction or not,
when you zone in the PoGs will immediatly start running to kill anyone kos to tunare, they arrive in about 20-30seconds they are lvl 54-55 warriors, FD works on these. they spawn every 30min be ready,
I am agnostic warrior, i started indifferently anfter about 25mobs i was still not kos..only to the whirl
the other mobs did not attack me...as for CR someone like a bard needs to aggro the PoGs and run around trying not to aggro any caster mobs this will give you a few minutes to get the kos ppl rezzed and rdy to fight them, when the bard bites it be ready to fight)
tank-ih-povar
p.s. if all clerics die find non kos ones, have someone zone in and run the whirl around the zone so the vital group members can get in safely

Let's clean this up a bit.

Normaly, the whorl does not see invis. Occasionaly, something comes along and gives it a see invis buff. Having watched for a while, I'm reasonably sure that it is a farstrider unicorn that is see invising it. Send a druid in first to double check before zoning in. The see invis buff does not seem to last for very long, so just wait patiently, or send in someone non kos to dispell/gate.

Pogs have a much larger lvl range, closer to 52-57. They can spawn singly or in a set of 2. They do not see invis, so if you get your whole team inzone invis, you'll be gtg. Takes 1-2 minutes from the time you drop invis until the pogs arrive (assuming you're at the west wall camp).

Post wipeout CR is also easy. Invis everyone (casters should be bound at portal, melee in Kael) and zone in. At a prearranged signal, drop invis and start looting. You have 1-2 minutes before pogs arrive, so loot what you need to fight and leave something on corpses for rez. Once pogs are dead, THEN do your rezzes.
RE: info
# May 04 2001 at 5:05 PM Rating: Good
usually whirl doesn't see invis. In some extreme cases they do, it's often best to have a druid go up first and scout and con the whirl. If they don't see invis you can just run right past them and not worry. Whirl's spawn time is instantaneous. Once it is killed, another whirl will spawn immediately. Don't bother killing this thing. Not worth it. But if you got the whole place cleaned, it's a nice lil spot to powerlevel a lvl 46 person due to the instant spawn rate :)

The Protectors of Growth
# Apr 30 2001 at 1:20 PM Rating: Decent
Instead of killing the pogs, I have heard that you can have a druid kite the mob around. By doing this you wouldn't need to worry about CR issues or timing the spawn. But it's a very boring job for the druid, and they don't take a faction hit for they are not killing the mob. Just kiting it around for hours.
RE: The Protectors of Growth
# May 04 2001 at 5:14 PM Rating: Good
might not be such a good idea... that means the druid will have to run around for hours on end without breaks and he can't ***** up, not even once. PoGs run at sow speed, it's hard to draw their aggro, and they summon. Pretty damn magic resistant, and hits really really hard. We tried this tactic once during CR, thought if we kited the PoGs it would buy us enough time for CR... well after 2 dead druids, 1 dead shaman, 1 dead monk... we decided it was a bad idea.

PoGs aren't that bad, we took 2 PoGs down with 8 people. Chanter chain runes one tank and one healer concentrating on one tank to take the extra PoG, the rest of the group took on the other PoG. By the end we were all OOM but damn that was fun! (highest was chanter, lvl 56, lowest was maybe 51)

PoG is different from the other planes, you can successfully raid this place with only 2 groups all the way to the waterfall camp, clearing all of west side and most of the east side. ***** you tunare!

some info about pog...
# Apr 24 2001 at 5:17 PM Rating: Excellent
not a lot of substantial info here so I'll post what I know... not much :)

How to zone in: The portal is located in the wakening lands. From Kael Drakkal, head northeast, be invis. You'll see a lake, and a tower in the middle of the lake. Go in the tower, (they are guarded by fawns and such) and go up to the very top. You'll see a big mushroom like red blob up there, and you click on it to zone into PoG. At the very top, your group should buff up and get invis, and all zone in at once.

Once you zone in, head to the west wall and don't camp out like you would in Fear or Hate. Drop invis, and get ready for the protectors of growth. (pets go up, etc) They can't be mezzed. If you're lucky, you get one pog. If you're not lucky, you get two pogs. Kill them as fast as you can. On the west wall near the portal you shouldn't get any adds. Once they die, have at least two people time the next spawn. Time is 30 minutes.

After pogs die, you can pull mobs from the zone. Things here are wimpy. They can be taken down with one or two groups. (west side mobs are easy, east side mobs are harder) But don't underestimate this zone!! The pogs will REALLY REALLY mess things up. ALWAYS be ready for them. Somebody needs to call when pogs will spawn at the 5 minute mark to stop pulls. All med up, and proceed to kill the next pogs that spawn.

You can have druids/rangers/paladins scout the place. DO NOT have druids/rangers/paladins fight in PoG. If they do they won't be able to do their epic and life will be miserable for them. If they accidently take a faction hit, they need to leave immediately. 2 kills will make you kos. If you do happen to take a faction hit, go to west freeport and give that guy in the inn tons and tons of muffins. This will repair most of the faction lost there. There are 4 factions you take. Faydark Champions, and 3 tunare related factions.

If you are in the middle of a fight, and the mob manages to gate, camp out immediately. The mob will proceed to summon you to his spot and kill you. So be sure you have enough enchanters there to stun the mob. Some of the treeants are very very resistant to stuns. Make sure all the casters start nuking when he's low on health or you're gunna end up with a very nasty CR. If everybody work together and pay attention, this zone isn't hard to do. But if you slip up once, nasty nasty CR that can go on for hours....

Now, about CR... ugh! That's all I gotta say. In my opinion, the best way to recover from a wipeout in PoG is to have everybody meet up at the pog portal. (this means all the tanks get bound at KD and all the casters bind at the portal) Get everybody buffed while the rogues/monks drag summoned bodies back to the camp spot (if you need reagents, you can usually go into the zone invis, go and loot your body, and gate out before the pogs get to you... and just hope invis doesn't drop on the way there. If it does, gate immediately) Get everybody invis and sowed. All zone in at the same time, all run to camp spot, if your invis falls on the way, casters gate (reinvis and then go again), melees KITE away from camp until you die! Once everybody is at camp spot, raid leader calls LOOT and everybody loot at the same time. (should be quick now after the right click loot autoequip thing). Get pets up, get yourself ready, and fight pogs. Once pogs die, start doing rezzes. But clerics, be conservative about mana. Don't rez like you're not gunna get adds. Leave some mana for cheals just in case you get adds. You don't have to finish CR before the next pog run, no hurry. Just make sure everybody has sufficient mana to combat any adds and be ready for pogs.

and to zone out, melees will need a druid/wizard there to port. So be sure you have one ready.

This zone is extremely fun! When you're not doing CR that is :) Your fun night can turn into a horrific experience if you let it so please be careful here. :)

RE-spawn Time?

Does anyone know the respawn time on the wandering spawn here? how about the named spawns and the static spawns that are in camps like Thiflings and the giants wisp camp? I have seen the west side of the river wanderers re-spawn in 6 hours and i have also seen nothing re-spawn for 18 hours and had to /petition to get the zone fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Drops
# Apr 24 2001 at 4:24 PM Rating: Decent
Loot drops by class seem to be totally random here. I know i see people posting different class stuff drops off of different mobs and people telling , clerics to kill thiflings, monks to kill sylvans. But i have charted drops from 25+ raids as well as been on many i didn't chart and i can tell you right now the type of mobs some people think only drops a certain class type and i bet you i can show you stats that say otherwise. I have seen cleric BP drop off of entolling cullers, sylvan protectors, tranquil treants, guardian powers, serene forest spirits, phase pumas, other types of wisp looking mobs from the wisp camp as well as thiflings, and that's just some of the mobs off the top of my head that i have seen drop a cleric BP. Same goes for any other class chest piece. The only thing that does not seem random is the armor slot that mobs drop. Basically if it spawns east of the river it can drop BP, Legs, Arms, Head of any class. Usually though you get BP and Legs. If it spawns west of the river that's where you get gloves, boots, bracers, helms ,arms of any class. The named stuff always drops something. If it is named and wanders the east side of the river you will get BP or Leg item of any class. Rarely they will drop 2 BP or 2 legs or one of each. They also drop high level spells. If it is named and wanders the west side you can get legs or arms usually, sometimes 2 pairs of each, soemtimes just one and some spells. The zone does seem to have it's days though where it will drop quite a bit from one class and none of another. We cleared almost the whole zone minus the named treants and the treants around Tunare's tree and didn't get one single cleric drop but we outfitted our rogues almost completely and had SK stuff rotting including the BP. I think if you hunt enough in PoG and stay long enuf to clear most of the zone or hunt in different spots you will see how random stuff really is.

K, here u are all arguing over faction and i don't know the way into the damn place. tons of people in my server go there. i'm sure someone knows. Something i noticed was that when i did /who all's of 60th lvl people and such, it seems like in this plane you dont need a HUGE raid or anything. u can just go on in. so how do u get there? i'm 45 now and close to 46 and wouldn't mind goin, hehe

ummm when was the last time you let Role Playing get in the way of Phat loots? And why can Innorruuk or Cazic followers kill their Gods? So to hell with role playing when it comes to loots. Would you HONESTLY give up loots because you were role plaing? I'd say that .0000001% of players would

it seems like no one really decribes much about the plane of growth here, just slams each other. I am curious about things like how you enter the plane, how You exit, what to expect when u zone in and could you immedietly zone out if needed? just wondering b4 i try to venture in=)

How do you get IN?

Is there a level restriction, or can you just walk on in?

And where is the entrance?

Thanks

I've heard a rumor. Granted, to me it's only a rumor but in either respect it's both hilarious and disturbing...

Seems Veriant has some twisted programmers. I met a wood-elf Druid that told me she went walking around PoG once, not KoS to a bleedin thing.

Then went up the Prince. She told him 'All your L00tz are mine' or something like that

He proceeded to beat her like she stole something. Then beat her some more.

I don't suggest doing this to any MOB in PoG, particularly the Prince or Tunare
I have a question
# Mar 14 2001 at 8:37 PM Rating: Decent
Would the monsters and creatures in the PoG attack a ranger, druid or follower of Tunare on sight?

I would say it depends on if that Ranger or Druid did anything nefarious. Camp Druid rings, kill Treants or mebe that royal fish in Rathe Lake. Then you'd be more akin one of them unkept Druids. I don't think they'd be welcome in PoG.
If you've done right by Tunare, by all means go visit. She's quite comely as far as EQ standards go. Won't talk to me tho.....
