This is a quick write up on the Gnomes portion of the quest for xp mod potions.

Head to Ak'Anon. Use the find tool to locate the War Supplier, Tinkerer Vizzlescrap.

Hail him, he will then send you to Izibat, a gnome merchant in Shadowhaven. Izibat will ask you for a robe, the higer quality the better.

In the room to the east of his is an erudite merchant Loensa Esorlinal. From her you will buy a Gold Jr Apprentice Robe*. You will then return to Izibat and hand him the robe.

Izibat will give you a Polished Alloy Cog in return for the robe. You will return to Ak'Anon with the cog and give it to the War Supplier, Tinkerer Vizzlescrap.

Tinkerer Vizzlescrap will thank you for the part and he will either give you nothing, or he will give you a random illusion potion, Essence of (illusion), or he will give you an xp potion: Elixir of Greater Learning, Elixir of Learning, Elixir of Minor Learning


With each turn in to Tinkerer Vizzlescrap you gain faction with the Dark Suppliers.

A few pointers :
-= When ya head to Shadowhaven, empty out your bags as much as possible, and load up on the cogs. The more the better, as it will save ya trips back to Shadowhaven.
-= If you cannot purchase from Loensa Esorlinal, there is a quest that takes about 15 minutes to complete to get the faction to do so located here. The reward for the quest is Amulet of the Haven.
-= Tinkerer Vizzlescrap is on a 30 second turn in timer. So you can give him 1 cog every 30 seconds.
-= Izibat is on a 40 second turn in timer. So you can give him 1 robe every 40 seconds.
-= The robes are lore so you can only purchase one at a time.

Hi, I LOVE Factions. I'm an Ogre Warrior, and I can goto Kelethin, Kaladim, RiverVale, Freeport, Neriak, Oggok, Almost anywhere, Even Akanon, But that's just to the guards. Once I get inside of Akanon, I'm KOS to all of the clockwork beasties, I've searched ALL over the net and the only POSSIBLE idea I have that might change me would be to bring up my faction with King Ak'anon, and hope it works. PLEASE post anything or ideas as to how I can bring up their faction. I have aimable faction with the gem choppers. So guess I'll try killing minatars. Thanx for your help. I'll check back frequently.

Are Luclin spells found here or do I have to go all the way to Santus Seru?

Ok, started a new char on FV server...hehe but my poor gnome enchie can't buy any spells since he prefers Bertoxx...where can I buy them? Anywhere? Someone else asked this question but got no answer. Any tips here would be great :)

Assuming I'm using invis to get to the evil part of town, will my darkelf necro be kos once i'm there?

Can someone give me some advice on where to go and what to do with my newbie gnome enchanter? They don't give you squat to start with, and being far enough away from the newbie area of steamfont mountains is making this character a nightmare to start with...LOL....all advice is greatly appreciated...ty all...

I am thinking of making a gnome magician(with a diety that makes me neutral, not good or bad)... any words toward why gnomes do not make good magicians? I am also wondering if and where I will be KOS or where I have bad faction.

I am a newbie and i have a magician in akanon. My problem I have is that my trainers will not let me train. They tell me they have nothing to do with my little gang. Can someone tell me what i can do to fix whatever problem i am having.

If you talk to the guy at the front of Akanon (fergot his name, he is not always there). First room you come to coming from Steamfont, with the clockworks, and mechanic.

say to him, "What about the Clockwork Dragon?"

The various decaying skeletons in Mines of malfunction are much more deadly than they con. The necros near the entrance and elsewhere buff them as they go by, so they are esentially being powerlevelled! Also, if you're running from one and you get to the big skel near the entrance he'll go aggor on you.
The deffectives are nice, but beware of the skeletons.

Greetings all, tired of the long haul through the mid to upper 20's? I have the spot for you.

First off you must have a way out of Ak'Anon once you camp this little gem. Second, once you get done here you can never come back due to the faction hits.

I started camping the Mechanic at level 27 with my DE Enchanter on Vallon. I had heard about the great XP here and gave it a shot.

He can be found by by following this route. Stand at the bottom of the ramp near the Bard in Ak'Anon. Face away from the ramp. Notice a bridge to the right? Take that all the way to the bottom. At the bottom you want to follow the wall to the right until you come to another bridge. Take this one as well, you will see a wheelbarrow across the bridge, and follow it to the left until you see two gnomes on a ledge. This is where the mechanic and a merchant stay.

The merchant is not social to the mechanic so you can attack with no fear, unless you are KOS to the merchant.

***IMPORTANT***
Do not let the mechanic run half way between the ledge and the wheelbarrow. Once he gets here he will jump in the water and port to another spot. Once there he will alert the clockworks that he is under attack. If he hits the water, gate out or if you feel lucky try to camp as the clockworks will destroy you at this level.

I took my ENC up to 31 here and made great loot in the process. I ended up killing the merchant as well in the end as he began to get even con to me and began to get KOS after I killed the merchant a few hundred times.

Hope this helps you get out of those late 20's blues.

Saerien - Vallon Zek

My gnome necromancer likes to use this zone to collect bones when he runs out. The mines are full of decaying skeletons that you can kill fast and easy for a quick pile of bones. There are two factors you need to keep in mind to do this. First, you must be absolutely sure where you are when you attack an decaying skeleton in the mines. Anywhere near an NPC and you are dead meat. That leaves plenty of places to attack, but just make sure you know where you are. Second, many of the decaying skeletons have been buffed with a damage shield. If you try to beat on them, you run a serious risk of dying first. It is pretty simple ot get around this if you remember that you're a caster. Just attack the skel, and if you take damage, stop your attack and cast something like poison on it and just stand there and let it die. Sure it might hit you for a few points, but who cares. I find you can collect a stack of 20 bones here in 20 minutes or so. Well worth it.
