The Buried Sea is a large body of water off the coast of Odus and the Barren Coast. There are many pirates and wild animals across this large area. Each island differs in challenge, and can be accessed not only in the static version of the Buried Sea, but via their own instanced zones as well. They are:

- Monkey Rock (southeastern island - 65th level)
- Redfeather Isle (southern island - 70th level)
- Maiden's Grave (northwestern island - 70th level)
- Jardel's Hook (western island - 75th level)
- Blacksail Folly (northern island - 75th level)
- Deadbone Reef (northeastern island - 75th level)
- Suncrest (eastern island - 75th level)

The middle island hosts a maelstrom which leads to the city of Katta Castrum.

new hotzone augment for TBS as of 6/2016. Seems to be random drop. Cliknar scouts still drop previous aug.

Need to ride boats.

You have to ride the big boats to get to certain zones like Barren Coast etc.

All the animals I've fought so far on Monkey Rock have hit me with Combine Plague, and have been able to drop me for 1275 points each time it stuck. As a ranger its not much of a problem unless I don't watch my root breaking, its range is only 75 and I'm using a Druzzil. This applies to animals with some time of diseased name...frothing gorilla, etc.

Can you list specific mobs that cast this?


So far it's been a frothing gorilla, an afflicted gorilla, I am currently doing the trophy quests out of barren coast and you have to fight these to get the drops. Will update if I find more. Minor change to the above, I've been hit now a couple of times for 1700 with the spell, which comes out to an initial hit of 425 and 3 ticks of 425. Spell description states only 2 ticks max.

Edit, pythons cast Python Poison, just as nasty, got hit by a malaised python. The jaguars cast something, you get a message that it rends you with its teeth and you lose 1500 hps. No idea what that was. All are short ranged though, and I noted that at least with the jaguars that after they cast once, I never got hit by it again, even within range, might just be a coincidence, not sure. I do know the pythons can cast repeatedly.


The raptors cast Raptor's Rend, the one that got me was a poxed raptor and a diseased raptor.

GROUP MISSIONS

(I dont have exact steps for these missions, but none of them are overly complicated, this is just a rough guide)
Gus Longear Missions (NOTHING in these tasks summon):
1. Shipping Lanes
Kill 8 each of the snakes, sharks, undead, cannibals and lizards

2. Pirate Stew
Kill 30 cannibals and one named cannibals

3. The Drowned Dead
Kill 30 undead, kill undead named found in underwater tunnel

4. Attracting the Dead
Kill undead, sharks, lizards and snakes until each drops a pearl. Turn pearl in to NPC cannibal

5. Soothing the Restless
Kill 10 drowned dead, pull and kill named from underwater tunnel



Macon Teach Missions (Any "named" mob WILL summon)
Most missions require looting a palisaide key. John the Infected outside the first gate always drops a key.

1. Buried Treasure
Purchase tickets to Blacksail Folly and catch the boat(0/1)
Kill Fruitless Finn Straw and search his hut(0/1)
Kill Ferdinand Jellybones and search his camp(0/1)
Kill Bob Bloodbucket and search his guard tower(0/1)
Kill Jean Jailbird and search her guard tower(0/1)
Kill Muscket Ball Wallace and search his hut(0/1)
Kill Saggin'Jowls Balley and search his hut(0/1)
Slay Captain Stinkfoot(0/1)
Loot the gemstone from Captain Stinkloot's corpse(0/1)
Return the gemstone to Macon(0/1)

Stinkfoot spawns after all 6 listed mobs are dead. He has one add who is linked with him, but is mezzable.

2. Running Rum
Purchase tickets to Blacksail Folly and catch the boat(0/1)
Loot 1 Palisade Key(0/1)
Enter the Palisade(0/1)
Get 5 crates of rum(0/5)
Escape to the canoe(0/1)
Give the crates of rum to Macon Teach(0/1)

The crates of rum are found scattered around the camp (one in the first tent ring on the left, one in each of the houses closest to the inner palisade gate, and two each in the two buildings inside the inner gate). When a crate is /opened, "Rum Runner Lackey" spawns and agros you (see invis, yellow con dark elf, hits 1kish. If you /open the corpse of a crate, another spawns)

3. Sharpeye's Folley: Reduce his Numbers
Purchase tickets to Blacksail Folly and catch the boat(0/1)
Loot 1 Palisade Key(0/1)
Kill 25 pirate recruits(0/25)
Return to the canoe(0/1)
Report your success to Macon Reach(0/1)

This is pretty straightforward. Kill 25 recruits and you win. They dont summon, so you can kite them.

4. Sharpeye's Folley: A Spy Among Them
Purchase tickets to Blacksail Folly and catch the boat(0/1)
Locate the key to the Palisades(0/1)
Locate the spy(0/1)
Return to the canoe(0/1)
Report what the spy said to Macon Teach(0/1)

This one took a few hours to figure out. There are 4 blue con "a drunken pirate"s. Kill these four, then about 26 more mobs and a fifth "a drunken pirate" will spawn inside the fort. Hail him (he's the spy), and then you win. This is essentially a "kill lots of mobs" mission. You CAN kite this, because recruits count as kills.

small corrections.. suncrest isle mispelled, also add solteris throne of ro and barren coast to the connected zone list. Suncrest Isle has a very large volcanoe which leads to the instanced raid zone of solteries, If I'm not mistaken. I never actually went into Solteris so please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain this is the connected zone to it.
