Level 68 is required to enter the zone without a flag on the live servers.

I dragged some alts through this last night to get their orbs, and wanted to share a few things.

First, all of the encounters were fairly trivial for my 101 Ranger, even OMM. I would run him ahead and clear everything and then drag the rest of the alts up.

All of the events were pretty straight forward, just dps them down. He resisted most of their spells, and most of the special mechanics of the events can be ignored. You do have to cure the DT dot, but Herbal Balm takes care of it in a single cast.

A couple other notes. Fighting OMM on the middle of the platform keeps the Lieutenants from adding. Squall of Arrows kills all of the Frenzied Lashers in a single cast (I used the AA version). I left my alts back at Hanvar's room and never switched to them during the fight with OMM thinking they were in the clear. They were both dead, so either the AoE on OMM are really big, or they can be hit from anywhere in the zone. The zone does repop, but takes a super long time. When my druid died, I had to run him back, and he promptly died because there was respawn and everything summons.

I have the "six" in the group, got the expedition.
The message that keeps coming up is "You can feel the door to Anguish opening underneath your hand."
I am still not logging in to the zone. What gives?

Were they six players or three with three mercenaries? I just tried it with three and three and was told I need six players.

Seen it also called Citadel of Anguish somewhere in the game and the Traveler's Achievement refers to it as Anguish, the Fallen Palace.

Did Jelvan event, then Hanvar, then backtracked to Keldovan the Harrier and soloed him, then surprisingly he dropped the orb (first time I've seen that happen, but I cannot recall killing him AFTER killing Hanvar, so I guess not too much of a surprise really since he's a mini and was the 3rd mini kill of the raid (I know 1 person isn't exactly a raid lol).' Soloed him as a 92 ranger..self healed np..full life and 30% mana at the end of the fight. Dropped the Orb for a friend..gratz buddy! Saved me a return trip to kill AMV. BTW u can do this raid solo as long as u keep 6 or more in the same expedition..they don't even have to be logged in after u get the expedition. Hope this helps!

They actually don't need to be logged in to start the expedition either. Did this with 3 accounts, just logged in some alts to fill the party and then logged them back out.

SK tanked, one of the monks off tanked, the rest burned and cleric mostly used hot/promised. only CHd once, and only Frantic Renewaled twice.

ok...question....if anyone 68 and above can get in without being flagged....then why cant i get in. both me and my cleric are over lvl 70 and when clicking on the gate it says "the door swings wide and allows you entrance...."

now...the cleric is showing that i have to have a full group but not more than 54. correct me if im wrong...but anguish isnt an instance is it?

It is a raid instance, so you need at least 6 to spawn the instance. Mercs will not work in this zone either.

According to a neighbor of mine who went to Fan Faire, the augs that drop from the minis here will be getting a slight change in that they will soon be 7/8 slot usable. I am not sure if the 2 big augs, the Stone of Horrid Transformation and the Rune of Futile Resolutions, will also be changing to type 7/8 also.

please take a note that you still have to do the quest on the progression server. There is no short cut on The combine. the only one they messed up is the ToB aa since that patch in april. everybody has the aa to zone in ToB

Just have to be level 70 now, as of April 17 2008, to be able to enter Anguish. As for looting, not sure -I was already keyed ;)

You only have to be 68 to get in, not 70. In addition, you do not need the seal to be able to loot.

you die if you zone into COA with out having you signets quest completed . hairygreek i think your confused.


HOW TO GET INTO COA
click on the gates to the zone with 6people will alow you mini's instance
where you can farm aug mobs
with 18 or 24 i dont rember which it will give you the raid instance
there seems to be many of bugs with this zone~ timers locking people out when they shouldnt and such + i believe the key ring has been broken for days
so to be safe have 6 folks all key/flaged and <immune to AE<must>> , and with no DZtimer ...befor atempting to open the gates to anguish

Bro, that is by far one of the funniest posts I've seen, you have some of it right and some of it a little screwy.
But the editing, I fell out. Trust me when I say I am in no way flaming you. I have only been to CoA 5 times and 3 were as a piggy, so I am not an expert.
You need to post more msgs on different parts of the game, just let everyone know that it might confuse them slightly.

i think you are just confused by his wording

when he says no armor pieces drop he's talking about the quest pieces for the armor sets. (patorav's walking stick, jayruk's vest, ETC), so he's right that the actual armor pieces for those quests do not drop in anguish, just the parts for the quests.

there is no seperate instance for augs or "mini's instance". 6 flagged peeps in a group gets you the raid instance, that's the only instance there is. also, regarding zoning in without Sigs done and dying, that is untrue because i dont thik you can even zone into Anguish without sigs being done.

when coa first came out, the only thing required to zone in was mastery raid trials completed. you could zone in, but would instantly get hit with a 30k zonewide ae. the signets were the blocker to that. if you look at the script you get when you turn in box of sigs, you'll see. also latan you are correct when i said that no ARMOR drops. armor consists of main visible inventory pieces, theres 8 pieces of armor total, and one mold drops for each part.

also, i do go to coa, and 2 group all mobs cept for jelvan, amv and omm. learn to read before you learn to write, because apparently you cant do either well.

theres 6 raid trials, each giving you a rune(looks like a piece of pie). Upon Completing the last trial, Seal of Mastery comes up on ur cursor.

Then you need to farm the 7 signets rss,mpg,wos,rcod are the non instanced signets and are relatively easy to camp and get. the other 3 are hollows,catacombs,and sewers. hollows is from Dranik scar expedition. It doesnt matter which mission, sig mobs spawn in all of them, just some places its nearer to the zone in, and some places are easier to camp and solo. Then catacombs and sewers are expeditions in rcod. once u collect all signets there is an npc in rss called taruomi or something like that. hail him for an 8 slot bag which u combine all ur signets in. then turn in the combined bag. Turnin in the signets will allow you to be 85/15'ed into the zone, but you will not be allowed to loot any items until you have seal of mastery.

Seal's of mastery drop off of all the raid mobs keldovian,ture,hanvar etc. All raid mobs have 6 loots each in anguish. 3 of the loots are always seal of mastery (can be looted if you only have your signets done, will allow u access to anguish as if you did trials), and 2 ancient runes.

No actual armor pieces drop in anguish, only armor specific tier 2 pieces which require ally faction to turn in for tier2 armor, and the single group to get pieces normally drop in MPG. Rings, earring, and weapons do drop off of mobs.

Then there are one groupable mobs called "aug mobs". each of these mobs will drop one of the 11 anguish auguments. they spawn at random, but they only have one spot they can spawn in each. they spawn after you've been killing for a while and you get an emote that says matamuram's lieutentants have been noted of your presence". They hit fairly hard, so no point in using ch. just chain blast ur tank. they have low health, not much more then the regular trash.

All I have is one question where's is the NPC that gives you the expedition so you can zone into COA . I tryed to zone in alone and notheing . I got in a raid and nothing it said if I had a reason to go in I could enter so that makes me think there is a expedition NPC where is it TY

There is no npc for the expedition just gotta get at least a full group and click the door to CoA for the exp.

From what I have heard access to this place is like VT. Some kind quest that is done with the riftseekers. Someone linked a box to me that had places for the varous rings you find from strange mobs around Oow. Example the No Drop Lore ring that falls off the shrewed dragron in D. Scar instance zones. Someone else I know linked me a simliar ring they had gotten from the proving grounds.

Can anyone conferm these findings?

Actually it seems like SOE isn't quite sure what this zone is called themselves...

When you zone in you see this, two names in 3 lines, while the guild roster says "Asylum of Anguish" :P

no bashing your post, but i love lore too, so where can i get my fix? i want lore ... hate playing games without storylines (i havent figured this 1 out yet) we have this and DoN at about the same time taking place in 2 different places involving a completely different set of people, im curious
