I found a new cluster of mobs in Drunder today (11 Jan, 2019) while working on hunter achievements. Mobs are named "an Enchanted War Boar". They are in the last boar pen in the tunnel where the "a Fledgling War Boar" usually spawn. Seem to spawn multiples in one spot on most cycles. There are 5 spots with 2-3 mobs per spot. Seemed to vary by spawn rounds. They are social with each other when pulled. All conned as level 65 mobs. I have uploaded a screenshot of them in the pen.

Update: As of 12 Jan, 2019 the fledgling boar are back in place. Anyone know what the enchanted boar were there for? I could find no new scripting on other mobs.

These mobs are part of the encounter with Glykus Helmir - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=10970

They're probably not seen too often anymore because they only spawn if the fight goes on for a while.

All spawns conned at level 65, no variances throughout my day of slaying them.. Drops were standard boar mob drops consisting of boar meat, etc.
Tried to get item collector downloaded so I could run it, but it does not like my computers operating system. Took the screenshot I uploaded while standing near boar pen.

Here's how to do it in 2015.

Wander in with your 85 ranger who you log in a few times a year. Vaguely remember raiding here and killing RZ once back in the early 2000s, but havent tried since.

Wander up some stairs on other side of pit, most of the see invis giants dont agro if on other side of the wall. Oh, a train agro'd on me. Kill in a few seconds.

Carry on to fork, head left. Find 3 giants in front of a door inc 1 named. Kill all 3. Door locked. Head to other side kill a named and 2 guards, this time door opens.

See Rallos Zek on a balcony. Wander on over to say hi. Can't target him. Turn around. Tallos Zek and Vallon Zek and guards run into room.

Head to corner. Kill guards and the 2 gods with arrow AEs, damage shield and melee.

RZ can be targeted now. Hit him until he disappears and reappears in the arena pit below as Rallos Zek The Warlord

Glide on down, find a spot, start fight.

Realise that you forgot he spawns waves of boars and winged demon guys. Tank RZtW with melee and use AE snare and AE arrows to kill the waves of mobs and try and get em off my cleric merc.

Screen is just a mass of polygons, tons of mobs, but at some point RZtW dies. Kill rest. Loot up up a 2h sword which was the pinnacle of a tanks career over a decade ago. Take photo. Say hi to the projection.

Reminisce how it took 50 of us and an evening to do it last time.

The post below is helpful, but I still struggled. As far as I can tell, here are the key points:

Kill both Decorin Lieutenant in front of both doors. If you do it too slow and they respawn, the door won't open. Once the door opens, head to RZ and you will see a message. Wait 1 minute and TZ and VZ show up. Kill them. RZ becomes targetable. Beat him to 50% health. He ports to arena below. Kill him there. Plane Projection spawns. Hail it.

Some notes: I did this solo and I was not ported to the Hole. RZ did not show up in my druid's track, or any of the Zeks for that matter.

P.S. I also illusioned through door first. That did not trigger the event. The doors have to open the normal method.

One more thing to add, apparently I didn't do it right. There are 3 planar projections to hail, one for each Zek. If you only hail the Rallos PP, it is not enough.

Now I find out that the TZ and VZ mobs that spawn before RZ are not the ones that you kill for a planar projection. Instead they are at end of north and south passageways (the ones before you ever reach the arena, near the zone in). Also for RZ, the name of the mob is not Decorin Lieutenant, but some other named mobs right in front of the doors.

Wow, I'd not played much in this zone till lately, a guildmate is doing part of his mage 1.5 epic here and I brought my 84 necro over to help. Most of my time in the zone has been in the North room with the lava.

For you newbies that have not been here much or at all, here's my simple notes.

Map: The eqlas map above is great. No names but it's a great zone map

Zone-in:
It's safe, you're in a long hall away from the mobs. It's an indoor zone.

Zone-out:
Down the stairs from where you zoned-in at the end of the hall.
There is at least one other zone-out at the far south end of the zone.

Lev: Works, not really needed except there is a big pit straight ahead in the main room, you may want to drop down but there are stairs too.

See Invis: Lots of mobs see invis. Oh, Crap...
But if the mob is on one side of the hall, you can usually run by on the other side, the see-invis range seems small. The repops are random, sometimes you get a see-invis and sometimes not, a hall you ran thru safely last time might not be good the next time if mobs were killed.
"a boar beast" randomly sees invis.

Summon: Lots of mob summon

Animals/undead: Not a whole lot in the zone but the boars are animals and the winged see-invis wraith's are undead. There's a whole room full of boars to the south, lower level, and a named pops there as well, Glykus Helmir.

Wanderers: Lots of em, keep your eyes open

Melee: I'm a caster so I can't say much and my necro has lots of melee avoidance, but the mobs look like they hit fast. I'd bring a slower the first time.

Snare/root/Charm/mez: I think the majority of mobs can be crowd controlled. I could charm/mez the mobs around the top of the pit with my enchanter and necro snare worked fine.

Low Health: Lots of mobs run at low health.

Cemetary: I'm pretty sure the zone-in is a cemetary for the zone.

Gindan Flayer and Gindan Blademaster: These are not a named mobs. But get them close to death and you get two standing there. Be prepared is all I'm saying. There are quite a few of these guys around, mostly upstairs.

Vallon Zek: On one of my trips upstairs, I took the right stairs and and at the end in the big room Vallon Zek was up on the Stage.

Layout:
After you climb a few steps you're on the middle floor of the zone. Ahead is a pit and the bottom of the pit is the bottom floor. Lev down or take some stairs to the north. The bottom level has the pig pens to the south and the mage 1.5 epic guy way in the north end. If you jump into the pit, the Warrior 1.5 pre-epic guy is not fa off either. There are see-invis in the pit.

Close to the zone-in are two stairs going up. Left and right. They each lead to separate long halls of mobs. The last room in each hall is a big room with a mob in each corner and a named can pop in these corners (at least one corner I've found). These big rooms at the end have a clicky door that ports you to the little room back at the stairs by the zone-in. The right hand stair takes you to the North hallway. The left stairs take you to the south hallway.

On the far side of the pit is a set of stairs going up. These lead to a long hallway that runs around in a big square.

Just curious if anyone knows why SoE decided not to use the Plane of War Zone. This is supposed to be where Drunder is located according to SoE's own Maps of Myrist and I assume we would have had to clear this plane to get into Drunder much like we have to get through Valor to get to Halls of Honor. We actually have the files for the zone in our directory and the zone can be viewed with EQ zone viewer. The entrance, I think, was supposed to be that extra stone in PoTranq that sits next to the stone for Valor.

I've also heard it was to be a sort of serverwide PVP arena. Zone into there, took you to a zone where people from all servers could gather, and duke it out. It was just too much, and the project was scrapped. They then had the idea for the Rallos event being there, and TZ/VZ in Drunder, but it was likely too late in development. Remember, developers have a time table
Plane of War
# Jun 05 2005 at 9:31 AM Rating: Decent
From what I've understood, Plane of War was supposed to be the home of Rallos. You clear Tallon and Vallon in Drunder, then move to Rallos in War. Developers had problems either with the Rallos script and/or the zone itself, so moved Rallos into Drunder with his sons.

It is sad that we've lost the content. It's a small zone, but looks to be cool. The center wall of the zone (which you can see in the screenshot above) has the Rallos ornamentation on it.

Clarification?
# May 16 2004 at 9:57 AM Rating: Decent
Very confused here. Sure hope someone that reads this forum can clarify.

Supposedly there is a "real" set of Zeks and a "fake" set? is this true?

Er, how can you tell which is which?

If so, then must you work your way through the "fake" set first and then the "real" set to get the flag for the next tier?

Or if you have killed the first two "real" Zeks, can you just be in a raid to do Rallos Zek, the warlord, and get flagged?

RE: Clarification?
# Jun 03 2004 at 7:33 AM Rating: Decent
You need to follow the script to complete RzTW.

Go to RzTW in the Bestiary, detail of the script is there.

Yes, you kill all 3 (and clones of them)
Events?
# Mar 13 2004 at 1:41 PM Rating: Default
What kind of events are there in this zone?
I was grouping in the pit the other day and suddenly the mobs started spawning as gladiators. After a while they all went back to normal.

I'm wondering if there are some triggerd events or spawns that happen in this area.

1 group in the pit can make some serious AA in here. There are some nice drops, but most require 2 or 3 groups. The pit named can be done with 1 group easy and can yeild some decent stuff.

With constant pulling, you can get about an AA per hour. Nice easy mobs. They don't have a ton of hp's and they only hit in the 500's for the most part. they have a small aggro radius, so fairly easy to pull.
BoT, Tactics
# Aug 31 2003 at 11:12 PM Rating: Excellent
Ok here is what I have found out so far. There are TWO quests in PoS to gain axcess to TWO planes. One gets you axcess to BoT, which gaining lvl 62 alone will get you in. The second will gain you axcess to Tactics. Both will take a good amount of time but both can be done with one good well rounded group. Since this page is talking about Tactics I will concentrate on that quest. Like has been stated here you must collect 4 medialions from Diaku's in the desert section of PoS. When you enter the desert from the tunnel go to the right to a box canyon and set yer group up there to pull to. The rock storms are the place holders for the Diaku's. ANY rock or sand or boulder "storm" is what you need to kill to spawn the Diaku's. When at the camp there are TWO plateau'sin front of the camp. Go PAST the first to the second, beware of the giant tents to the right, lots of rock storms hang out around rhis plateau. Pull them back to group and kill them. Best to have tracker in group to make finding them easier. They don't drop much of anything and con DB to lvl 63. Easy kill for 58 to 63 lvl group. The diaku's will start spawning after 6 or 8 kills usually. They will spawn right in front of yer camp and can be seen most times but trackers should keep looking for them. This will take maybe 4 hours and is boring as hell but the good thing is 4 medialions will flag the entire group for tactics. One person therefore should collect all the medialions you get. The turn in NPC is by the exit tree in the cave by zone in. No need to hail him just give him the 4 medialions and poof!! all in yer group will then be flagged for tactics. Hope this helps.
RE: BoT, Tactics
# Feb 20 2004 at 5:51 PM Rating: Decent
Aye, that does get you access to PoTactics. Is it correct that this only gets you access for experience purposes, and not for planar progression? In order to progress past this plane, I think you have to kill the Behemoth (sp?) in the PoI. Not sure on this, so feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Darn it. After I posted this, I read Mistress Nights post below. Thank you Ma'am for the correct info. You are a lady and a scholar.

Killing the VZ
# Jun 13 2003 at 12:43 PM Rating: Excellent
My guild killed VZ last night after several attempts. I thought I would share our strategy.

First, everyone but pullers (need multiple monks here) to a corner. Pull VZ to the corner and have ONLY the main and hit group work VZ down. He is easy to slow and debuff but casts a nasty dot. RC is a must here. VZ spawns copies of himself at 80/60/40/20% life. 3 first split, 4 next split, 5 next and 6 the last split if i saw correctly. **EDIT** Did him again recently, I believe it is 5 copies per split. **END EDIT**

Now the real difficulty comes in the fact that when he splits he also shadow steps back to the middle of the room with his twins. This means everyone loses the REAL VZ as a target.

Monks really earn their keep here. Everyone stays in the corner and monks peel off single or double mobs back to the raid. If it is a fake VZ, just kill it. If it is the real one, ONLY the main group attacks (so as to not force more than one split) till he splits again. You can tell the difference because the real VZ hits for 800's and the fakes hit for 300's. This peel and kill method continues till you find the real one and finally kill him.

This fight is great fun but TONS of raid discipline is required and groups MUST NOT attack the REAL VZ till the fakes are dead. Control is the name of the game here. Have fun, hope this helped a little.

You can kill Behemoth to get access to this zone, which is the preffered method as the quested entry, will get you in but not allow you to get the next tier flag.

SO while you can quest entry (see below)
and there by exp in this zone, even killing the boss mobs that would normally flag you for the next tier will not do so,until you kill behemoth
(I know, happened to me)

Ps daiku are the mobs you kill for the quest and they can be a little bit of a pain,

storm.'

You say, 'why tied to the mast'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'The Diaku Raiders, filthy sort if you ask me. I was out on a shipping run, when Diaku attacked, they pillaged all of my goods, then tied me to the mast and left me floating a sea. Then the storm came and ate my ship, and I woke up here, I swear that I saw some [Diaku] washed up on the shore with me.'

You say, 'what diaku'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'The Diaku that attacked me! Pay attention for Karana's sake! You appear to be the fighting sort. You can help me kill the Diaku at their source in [Drunder].'

You say, 'what drunder'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'Drunder! The Fortress of Zek, the Zeks don't trust any one mortal to have free access to the fortress. The Diaku come and go in fours, and four parts are needed for entry. Of course they won't part with them easily. If you find four, and bring me four, I can make the four into one, and with one, you can get into Drunder without three more. Then, with
your one, you can kill all of them. I would do it myself, but with my bad knee and all. . .'

Clear the pig pen and then when you pull Glykus, another unmezzable pig will spawn. Have a bard or Ranger or druid kite the pig off while the rest of the raid (recommend 2 groups at least) kills Glykus. Once he is dead have the kiter either zone or bring back to the raid to kill. If he zones aggro is lost and the pig will despawn.

2 cleric chain with patch heals on a defensive tank should get the job done if you have decent dps with the rest of the raid.
