A council of six masked beings known as The Tribunal, or the Six Hammers for their massive golden gavels, rule over the bleak landscape of endless gray plains and massive prison structures that is the Plane of Justice. All manner of sentient creatures that have committed unspeakable crimes are condemned to serve sentences within the impenetrable walls of the planar prisons, watched over by hooded servants of the Six Hammers.

The mortals of Norrath who worship The Tribunal claim that the Six Hammers sit eternally in the Court of Justice, perpetually passing judgment on the creatures brought before them by a being known only as The Seventh Hammer. It is this Seventh Hammer that acts as the messenger and bailiff to The Tribunal, and it is said that he is the only sentient creature that can stand before the immortal judges and he himself not be judged.

hes pretty hard. my group last night decided to do the trials just for fun. a monk triggered the 1.5 version of him(there must be 2) and he whooped us. group was 65sk, 70rog, 80war, 80pal, 80clr, 60clr. pal had over 2500ac and was the ma. 65sk ht, which is about 25k, didnt even make a dent in him. after 25min, clerics were oom, and the beast was only down to 65% health, needless to say we cut out. sk ot hammered out, everyone else died except for one of the clerics that gated. hit for 1.5k easy and hit fast. get a slower and more dps if u plan on taking the monk epic version.

80 pal with 2500 ac isn't a good tank if doing with just a single group.

The monk epic one isn't really much harder than the normal. Use a tank with 3500+ ac, and you can two group is fairly easy. 4k+ to single group it. This is providing your dps is good, and you have someone covering other's heals.
At the time I single grouped it, I think I was around 4200ish, group was:
75 sk (tank)
75 monk
75 cleric
75 shaman
75 wizard
75 beastlord

Now, it also helped that the sk was able to keep themselves up when needed, and 2 bites loaded to help the others with mana and heals.

still needed for monk 1.5
(even non triggered one still drops the piece)

As for hard, he is single groupable with a good tank (2500+ ac is probably overkill)
Just make sure everyone else can take the ae's, or have extra healers to cover them. Then it's just dps.

I got the past 3 lvls by LDoN'ing and was curious, would it be a good idea to begin in the PoJ in a few more LDoN's at lvl 47, or should i start in after i get a orange of xp for insurance? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

This zone is a very easy compared to the other tier 1's. Camping the prison cells near the exit is great exp up to 55, mobs are mostly non agro as long as the puller uses arrows, or throwing. Key is not to uses attack in the hallways and pull back to either the left or right exit hallways. Mobs pop fast and a good group of low 50's can clear the cell ring (around 12 mobs) before they pop again. Rats and roamers don't agro, unless you attack in the hallway. Always pull to exit, and its cake. Most mobs hit under 100, depending on your gear, and all are slowable. Was averaging 1 yellow per hour at 54.

As you exit the room you zone into when entering plane of tranquility, you go up the hill slightly to the left until you see some scales of justice. Click on the scales to zone into POJ graveyard.
Trial of Lashing

We did trial of lashing today and I thought I'd share our findings.

When you zone in, you have about 30 seconds before mobs pop and start moving toward the prisoners chained to the wall. All I did to get aggro off the prisoners was sit. Then have your chanter mezz mezz mezz. Kill them one at a time, and even if you overlap the waves a bit you will do fine. On the 4th wave the named will spawn...mezz the other mobs and focus on him. He rampages and enrages but I didn't see flurry. The most damage I took in a round from the named was triple 600ish, using no disc.

During the waves a dark elf will spawn and start attacking. He hits hard and fast and is untargetable. When he spawns, three spirits spawn on each of the stairwells. They are non-aggro, don't hit back, and have about 1k hps. They are his life force...destroy them to depop the dark elf. We did this by putting our monk on duty. That way he could FD off any aggro he had and go beat on the spirits as soon as we saw the inkie.

Group consisted of 65 war chanter cleric rogue paladin and 63 monk. We wiped the first time basically because we didn't know what to expect. Second time around was a little iffy but we succeeded. In my opinion a chanter is a MUST for this trial. Our chanter was busy mezzing the entire time and didn't bother slowing anything but the named mob.

Good luck!

To pull without getting rats and other prisoners added on keep attack OFF when pulling, have sow. Shoot target with bow or throwing weapon then run back to your camping spot. Do not fight in the hall. If you are rooted then healer comes and heals you then runs back to camp, by then your root should be free and then you pull back to camp. Great spots are exit right and exit left. I saw people pulling to the graveyard area once.

Most likely only if you bring your own. Most people in PoJ are 48+, and will only consider lower if they are desperate. Personally, I find it really depends on how good your gear is. If you're gear isn't very good, stay away for a few more levels.

Not necessarily true. Most of the people camped at the zone out are going to be in their low 50's, and if there are open slots, usually they will let you in. A little extra DPS goes a long way in this zone, especially against the casters (Zenoux) and the Sentries. I came in at level 47 and actually led a group for a good 6 hours, acting as puller and main tank with my SK.

I've recently hit PoJ after hitting level 47 with my warrior. I am easily able to get a pick up group here in the Zone Out (ZO) area. I've turned into a puller here and the cell block loop is easy to pull singles if you know how.

I use to pull mobs from there cells but seemed to always pull in 1-2 adds (rats usually) and the occasional lizzy monk (you know which one).

I saw one player consistantly only pulling in one mob even though I saw many rats running around during the pull. The secret I found to pulling with out adds is: Pull using Taunt. This way you don't have on your attack mode yet, the mob isn't hurt yet and taunt aggro doesn't get you add aggro.

However, you must be carefull not to hit the mob until you've pulled him most of the way into the two halls nearest the exit door, else any mob near the hall opening (where cell blocks are) will "add" as well. I can even pull a solo in the cell where the two lady mobs are (Sister monk and the Erudin caster).

Using the taunt pull method - I can easily pull in a single mob and pass the rats and SoJ's in the hall while doing it.

I remember when I first got PoP. I came to this site and started reading up on the zones and what they were like, and I was amazed. I wasn't sufficient level to go to the planes at the time (I was a mere 39) but as soon as I dinged 46, I went straight there, and again, I was amazed. The planes are quite possibly the greatest and fastest source of experience IN THE GAME. It's pretty unfair how easily you can level in PoJ with a good group. I've gone from 46 to 48 in a day and a half with non stop grouping plus some gravy on the side (the lewt in these places is amazingly expensive for merchant fodder, selling for as high as 80pp for one easily dropped item). Now I'm not saying SoE should nerf it (since I haven't had enough time to fill up all of my bags completely with lewt hehe) but it is pretty unfair how easy it is to get just about anything in these zones. Quick question however, How the **** are those tiny *** rats so powerful? They do like 120 damage and they're the size of a dwarven beanbag (if you catch my drift). Just my 2cp on PoJ. Keep on truckin', you never know when you might need to buy new shoes (That made no sense whatsoever, but then again, thats my specialty.)

Your assessment of PoJ exactly expresses how I felt when I first went there. I think I made 3 levels in 2 days from about 47 to 50 doing just PoJ groups at the zone out (ZO). If you can get a good group at the ZO, the experience will fly. The strangest thing though, is that once I dinged 50, and especially after hitting 51, I can't seem to get decent XP in a ZO group. At one point, my 47 wizard got something like 1/3 of a level in an hour all with groupmates at about 55th level, but a few nights ago, pulling just as quickly and with everybody closer to my level, my (now) 51st level Wizard got about 10% of a level in 3 hours. It was disappointing to say the least.

I am going to continue to explore the planes (of course), but it has begun to feel like PoJ ZO groups are out for me now.

While this post is a year old, I think it bears responding to for those who come looking later.

XP wherever you are slows down CONSIDERABLY once you ding 50. To keep people from powering through these levels to quick (that is it takes a few weeks rather than a day or two of PLing), Sony (at the time Verant) made the xp curve much steeper at this point. Game has been this way since Kunark.

After a long period without PoP, I have finally got it... not currently in a guild, so wondering how high you have to be to play in PoJ. Some postings I've read lead me to believe that characters in their low 50s can solo in this zone without adds from mobs... and other postings suggest that you have to be 58 and above to avoid adds... any information would be much appreciated...

From the time I have spent there so far (lvl 51-53) I have only been in groups pulling to the exit area and the loot just plain sucks (as in non-existent), unless you get a Polished Key Ring or Blue Diamond which will occasionally drop from an SoJ. The Iksar Monk prisoner drops about 5-15pp in cash but this guy has a whack of HP and being a Monk, is not that easy to hit. I agree with Tarq that soloing at 55 would be possible for sure as a caster but I think it may be dicey if you are pure melee. From cons I get back using track (lvl 52), there are MOBs in this zone you really do not want to mess with alone so stick around the exit unless you are in a group.

Looking forward to tangling with some of the guys further in that drop the goodies cause killing near the exit is almost XP only. Until I can get there though I am still referring to this zone as "The Plane of Poverty"

(Responding to an old post but maybe others will find this insightful.)

I've only spent about 10 or so hours in this zone and in a very small corner of it, but here are my thoughts. A soloing class could get by at 55, a pair would be better, and only for the zone out area. Find out where that is and pull to one of the 2 hallways that fork from the zone out door if there isn't already a group in each hall.

Prisoners in the square block of cells in this area are going to be your bread and butter. Many are casters so beware. Contrary to what you may have read, adds do happen and frequently. If you pull a prisoner and a Sentry wanders too close it will aggro so pull as far from the main hallway as possible to avoid this. One oddity of this area is the rats. They cast sow and what I believe to be Skin Like Nature on themselves. They won't mess with you if you just get a prisoner, but as far as I can tell they will assist the Sentries in this area.

Going further on is suicide at your level. At 55, the xp should be quite good for you in this part and all that you can handle anyway. The downside is, with the exceptional rare drop, the loot plain sucks here. It must get better the deeper you go though.

Trial of Execution

Main tanking a slowed mob is the safest method to kill most things. However, its slow. The thing with the trial of execution is that it is TIMED. You have only 45 seconds to kill each of 4 mobs give or take a moment. This means you MUST have a HIGH dps (damage per second). The method that has worked most efficiently is by letting us AE nukers to be the heroes for once. Rogues are amazing damage dealers, I admit. However can any rogue do 9,936 hp of damage in 8 seconds without crits? Well, using AE, that is the amount of damage I do. To extrapolate that for you, my dps during that time is 1,242 hp per second. A mage can do comparable damage in that amount of time. A druid and a cleric can also contribute AE nukes. Using a druid or mage to banish the rocks is simply a waste of time and mana (and a LOT of plat).

First, get a good group together. Here is a goos sample: a 62+ war with defensive disc (for executioner), 1-2 wizzie/mage (60+), 1 GOOD chanter (he will AE stun only, no mezzing and ONLY slow the Executioner), 1 good cleric (will ae once per round as well), 1-2 others (if only 1 wizzie/mage, make sure you have a GOOD rogue or Ranger for DPS). The Warrior will sit in the middle of the room while the rest of the group hides in the rear corner. The 4 mobs will pop and converge on the Warrior. After they are in a bunch, the chanter rushes in and starts the AE stun. Then all converge to AE nuke while the melee concentrate on the targeted mob. Be careful not to OVER nuke, you need mana for all 4 waves. I ahve found AEing 4 times per round leave me mana enough and gets the mobs to about 50% health.

If you do this, you will walk thru the trial and join the quickly overcrowding ranks of PoV/POS people LFG! :P

Solution to the Pet Problem in Trials
# Jan 21 2003 at 3:50 PM Rating: Decent
1 post

While fighting in the POJ Trials last weekend I came across a nasty bug. When you type in "Return" from the arena and pop back to the Trial prep room your pet stays in the arena. If you summon him back he will depop.
This gets REALLY expensive considering every pet you summon will cost you a perdot (or whatever you other guys use)................

I found a solution.
If you zone back into the regular dungeon area you can summon your pet from the arena and he won't depop on you *CHEER* (click on any of the blue swirling circles and it takes you back to the POJ dungeon).
Once you summon the pet into the regular dungeon you can then click back into the Trial prep area and summon him to you in there. yes yes this works.
Odd bug since it only kills the pet when you summon him to the prep room and not the dungeon ,, but eh. At least I found a solution.

Those who did the trials ... no one says what level the party was ... can you take more than one party into the trial?

I'm a level 49 chanter, I've got a group from 45 to 52 of about 8 or 9 people. Is one of the first trials doable for us?
All that evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing.
RE: some questions on trials
# Nov 20 2002 at 2:41 PM Rating: Decent
Um, no. First of all, the trials can only be performed by ONE group (six max). Lvl 60 groups have found the trials very difficult, lvl 62+ seem to be about the "average" success level, and that's with a good plan ahead of time, and usually a few failed attempts under their belts.

Also, you have to be at least lvl 46 to enter any plane besides the Planes of Knowledge and Tranqulity, so your lvl 45 friend needs to go up another level before he can even enter.
The Planes of Power are really intended for players lvl 60 and up. Lvls 46-59 can go there, but it's tough to find a group unless you're over lvl 60. And a group under lvl 60 is not going to last very long.

I would tend to disagree with Dargadin's post. Although he is correct about the trials (basically 60+) it CAN be done with a one or two lower leveled rogues/wizards/mages, if you have an otherwise well balanced group.
Yes, PoP was catered to the high end game, but it is by no means a level 60+ expansion. In the first tier zones (Innovation, Disease, Nightmare, and Justice), you will have very little trouble finding a group in the lower to mid fifties. In fact in PoN, I have seen level 65 wizards and mages go LFG longer than I have at 54.

Be safe all!
RE: some questions on trials
# Dec 03 2002 at 4:11 PM Rating: Excellent
Well, in the first few weeks of the game, the 1st tier planes were flooded with lvl 60+ characters, and it was tough to get a group if you weren't one of them. However, now it seems they have moved on to the more challenging planes and it's much easier for someone in the mid 50's to find a group. However, the groups aren't made up of lvl 46 characters (the minimum to zone in), the AVERAGE level is still high 50's from what I've seen.

HOWEVER, getting back to the topic, the Plane of Justice Trials are tougher than just hunting in the 1st tier planes, and require a higher average level, and I think a lvl 55 to 60 group would be very frustrated trying to complete them.

Ok this is alittle off topic from the general discussion, although I just wanted to point it out. yes some low 50's characters can go a long time /LFG, to be honest the longest I have ever been /LFG is about 10 min. then again one of my char is a cleric. What you will find is clerics, shaman, mid 50's enchanters, and monks don't have as much problems finding groups. Alot of time they want the warriors, shadow knights, and paladins to be atleast lvl 53. Now for the others rangers, druids, rouges, bards, beastlord, and necros usually get into groups that either have a need for a certian class or aren't able to get one of the other classes and they need to fill a spot. I forgot wizards and magicans, to be honest majority of the groups I have been in on the 1st level tier planes have either had a wizard or a magican or both. Haven't gotten to the 2nd level and higher so I wouldn't know.

My cleric started hunting here at lvl 50, that was about 2 weeks ago, right now he is about half way thru 53 and earned acouple of AA points also, so alot of times depending on the class you can get snaped up for a group quick.

My 55 ranger on the other hand has gone for 30 min at times /lfg and no luck so I do something else.

Yeah, most of the low-50's I see in PoN/PoD tend to LFG for a long time, but I have taken a group of guildies 50 to 55 to both places, and been okay. Mostly though, we tend to end up camping the "yard trash" near the zone in in PoD (rats, goos, etc.) or hugging th wall near the graveyard in PoN and killing ravens and treants. From what I've seen you need to be high 50's and in a group of your peers to venture very far at all into even the first tier planes. On the bright side, it seems that places like sebilis and velks, which (on Saryrn at least) had been the 60 playgrounds of choice before PoP are now nearly empty of higher people. It's much easier for a low-50's group to get a camp in those places then before. Getting back to the topic of PoJ and trials, everyone I've seen talking about it has been at least 58, and most are in the 60+ club. I havent even though about it yet, as I'm only 55, and a druid at that. =)

In the planes, every group is pretty much looking for the same thing.

1) A tank who will be able to handle the mobs (I try to look for a tank in their high 50's or a 60+ tank who is slumming it in the first tier planes).

2) A slower in the high 50s (preferably a shammy cuz they tend to die slower when they get aggro).

3) A cleric that knows what they're doing and will not run out of mana (for any of the interesting camps you prolly want high 50's)

4) Any other 3 players. Sure there are some that are better choices than others but it really is a matter of who is a available. I will NOT start hunting with a planes group without any of the first three cuz its either a wipe waiting to happen or we will have a lot of downtime for healing and medding. If you have a solid core of the first three I mentioned you can swap people in and out all night long.

Of course a low 50's group can still handle the planes (especially places like PoJ but be careful its not gonna be boring for you).

All the talk about level 50 or above to get a planes group is garbage. My (at the time) 47 Necro found a group in PoJ in 15 minutes the first time I went in there, the group consisted of levels 47-52 and we camped at the zone out with absolutely no problems, assuming we had a mezzer. I went from 47 to 49 in 2 days and everyday even making my own group and grabbing people using the /lfg tool it never took longer than 20 minutes to start killin. Heck one day we even went to the Captian Room, wiped a few times but the exp more than made up for it. So if you're 47 just head to PoJ, I'm sure with alittle dilligance you'll get a group and be leveling faster than you have since level 15.

Just wanted to pass some info, The trial of fire seems very survivable with the right group, a group of us went in there to see what it was and survived till we evaced out as it was getting close to our turn in exe trial, the mobs that pop are fire based, and there is and AE fire spell happening every few seconds, its low damage and mobs only hit for around 80's (me being a cleric) had a bard playing fire resist song, group i would recomend trying it with is bard, druid or sham, cleric, war, ranger, and whatever but bard, and 2 healers seem to be key, dru/sham on AE damage, cleric on Tank heals, and tanks to just kill the pops was 2-3 on first wave but we didnt try again, seemed very possiable, going to attempt it as soon as someone is brave enough to venture with me =) Hopeing that it will open plane of flame, since its trial of flame, would only make sense, but then again this is Verant.

From what I know, all the trials end with the same result, flagging you for the second tier planes. The Elemental Planes are fourth tier planes and you have to follow a long quest through each plane to get to those, and eventually the Plane of Time, which I don't believe anyone's gotten to yet as of right now (2/3/03)

When I can't find a group I will often go and sit at the zone in point of a zone and just forage while working on trades and wait to see if a group comes along. Is the zone in point in PoJ safe from wandering mobs, where one could just sit and forage without worry of being attacked (unless someone pulled something there).

Yes, the zone in point to PoJ is safe but I have seen one train go up there which really never should have made it that far. The zone out point is not near the graveyard/zone in so when people actually train up there they most likely were not wise enough to find the zone out before adventuring. Tis to be expected though since this is still a bit new to all but it is overall a safe zone in. =)

No point in doing that, dieing in the planes your body will pop to the GY automatically in 10 minutes or so. I have to agree with the other post, people leading trains to this GY just don't know the layout.

PoJ trials, Maps
# Oct 25 2002 at 10:28 AM Rating: Good
Found at:

Did one of the trials today with a group.

The process is this:

Outside the tribunal chamber is an efreet named Jacosh Steldenn. everyone in yoru raid needs to say to him:

then click on the blue vortex to enter.

Each tribunal has a different quest:

1 lashing
2 execution
3 stoning
4 torture
5 hanging
6 flame

We did execution.

everyone in the raid needs to say:

"prepared" to the same tribunal.

When everyone is "flagged" the leader says:

"begin" to the tribunal.

we zoned into an arena. there was a citizen at the guillotine inpopped 4 mobs and a executioner. The executioner walks to the citizen to kill him. each mob you kill resets him. you have about 45 seconds per mob to kill them.

The good news is that they are easy 40th level max.

The bad news is they dont root and aggro like nuts.

We tried several times but did not have the DPS to save teh citizen... none the less we did get some nice loot:

Pauldroons of Witness (gratz me )
magic item lore item
ac7 dex5 wis 7 int7 hp35 mana35 cr5
clr dru shm nec wiz mag enc/all

Viel of the Executioner
magic item lore item
ac6 dex5 wis3 int3 hp35 mana35 dr8 mr8

Silver Hammer Earring
magic item lore item
ac3 wis6 hp25 mana55
clr dru shm/all

Not bad for booby prizes...

was just reading quest discussions from here and said you need to speak Elder Dragon to get a quest , there may be quite a few mobs like that whch you need to be able to speak a certain language . Alot of 'hails' to mobs would get a reply of " soandso appears to not understand you" so could be intersting for some one fluenet in many languages to go around in there , I only speak a few and it is noted that many of the prisoners are from Ancient times , so would make sense . :)
my exploration

I just explored the Plane of Justice , being a shaman of the Tribunal the zone got my curiousity.
After barely moving from the zone area , while watching thru the grates a group kill some mobs and checking out the cons I ended up grouping with them, ended up dying twice and gave up and decided to explore by myself. I was the main healer and kept getting adds on me as soon as I healed , so the grouping wasnt going well , and was sort of uncomfortable killing 'mobs ' in my home anyway. But anyway , seems Tormented Wraiths are KoS , a couple jumped a group mate , but I didnt get a chance to con them , since I died while trying to keep him alive long enough to get an evac off . And while exploring on my own I came across some prisoners in jail cells that were animals and they were threatning to me , they seemed to be a bit separated from non KoS prisoners and when i came across a couple of KoS prisoners I ended up turning around and going back the other way. I was able to open the prison cells and con them and not get agro and also able to go past the cells while the door was closed and not get agro , so seems safe enough to explore. The rats were dubious and the majority of the prisoners I came across were apprehensive.
What I have heard is that the prison is at war with one another , animals , evil races and good races , which could explain why only the animals seemed to be KoS, though not all the animals were KoS , so who knows. Most of the prisoners dont really respond to you when hailed , but some did and want to tell there story , but was very few who had dialouge. After exploring I go down some stairs to see 'High guards ...' which is the 1st thing I found that conned red to me at 52 , they were indifferent to me , they looked just like the other guards , but were ' High guards '. There were several ' tiers ' of guards , the sentrys , High guards and a couple other ones also a couple tiers of rats also , but standing just past the High guards was a npc standing there in front of a portal ( cant remeber the guys name , but he was a race unknown to Norrath )and he has dialouge asking why you are here and such ,and talks about if you want a Audience with the Tribunal ( I asked in /ooc if anyones been in and a few confirmed it was safe to go in , but dont accept a task ) so I go thru the portal, still in the same zone just differnt part of it , there stands the 6 hammers of Justice. If you say to them " I seek Knowledge " they will have a task for you to complete , each Hammer has its own task to accomplish , being solo I didnt dare except one , but while I was there saw a couple groups try . One group being all red to me and at least a 61 and a 60th character were not able to accomplish the mission and they tried a couple times with a couple different ones also. Once you say " you are ready " you get ported to a different area of the zone where you go on a trial. I dont know if only one group can go in at a time or what , one person of the group was doing all the dialouge , but the whole group got ported , but a couple times there were a few straglers standing next to the group , but they did not get sucked in . So as far as I could tell , the one talking and his group members got ported in when they initiated it . And a couple times they were not succesful and tried to go back to the same 'trial' and the Hammer would say this 'trial is already in progress , denying them entry. Maybe if a couple groups did the initiation phrase right after each other they could go in together , but I didnt see it attempted, or maybe the new 'raid' feature could come into play here , letting more then one group in at a time .

Anyway , was just some details of my exploration :) . And to note , it is not completly safe to just wanderer the zone ,but the cells with KoS prisoners were avoidable , but I'm pretty sure the Toremented Wraiths that appeared to agro were triggered some how , because they werent in a jail cell, but im not completly sure about the Wraiths...they also looked like the guards do , had the long black coats .:)

Thought I'd verify that a zone out exists, as someone previously stated.

I wandered around the first set of cells listening to the stories of the prisoners. After finishing those, I walked down a hallway and clicked on a door, which zoned me out. Not far from the entrance at all.

Whip around graveyard and go down stairs that lead into the prison area with quest NPCs, SoJs, and wandering rats. Walk straight until you run into a pathway perpendicular to your current path. Doesn't matter if you go right or left from here, they both go around a block of cells to the same place. At the back of this block of cells is a set of stairs leading up. It may or may not be behind a door, I don't think it is though. Head up the stairs. From here, turn left. Then take the very next hallway on your left and walk down it. Just after a small curve in the path, you'll see a very short hallway/alcove with a door. Click and you're out!

You can also go right from the stairs that head up and take your first hallway on the right. They lead to the same place just like the hallways you came in from.

My very bad map:
ZI = zone in, ZO = zone out, grave = graveyard, up and down are stairs you should either take up or down :)

Earlier I stated there was no Zone out to PoJ... I was incorrect. There is in fact a Zone out, it just isn't immediately evident from where you zone in.
When you zone in there is a set fo stairs leading down this leads to a small maze area, after you Pass some Sentries of Justice and a rat or two there is a zoneout. It looks just like the other doors in the zone, and is facign the same direction of the stairs you took to enter this part of the zone.
the rats and SoJs should be non-aggro.

The rats only add if your below level 58. The prisoners wont assist each other and the Sentrys of Justice wont assist if you're level 58 or higher. The Gaolers of Justice assist even if you're level 62 but those guards are deeper inside.

A couple of times when PLing lower level buddies, they forget not to assist and cast a spell during combat and promptly get killed by the rats. Also charming the rats to use as a druid pet results in adds as the rats themselves are below level 58. All pre-PoP pets will cause adds if they chase a fleeing mob.

Just to clarify things to everyone ... THERE IS A ZONE OUT SPOT.

It looks like a door. You go down the stairs from the zone in place, and kind of around ... there is a corridor with a door. Open the door and zone.

In the previews they show lots of portal-looking things...but they all have big guys with big hammers next to them!

Makes sense though, it IS a prison plane, and they don't want beings escaping.

Note to Melees: It's ALWAYS a good idea to carry at least one dose of teleport potion on you, whether the Thurgadin kind or the ones made by Shamen (cost around 300pp per dose on my server). ESPECIALLY when exploring uncharted zones. Assuming they work normally in the planes, etc.
