A instresting wooden crate!
# Jun 22 2003 at 3:54 AM Rating: Decent
There is a wooden crate thing lying in a small ditch in the far reach of skyfire. Hard to locate and when click on the crate turns 90 degrees and when click on agian it turns back 90 degrees. Does anyone know what I am talking about or know what this object does or open or whatever? It quite weird for a wooden create to just be sitting there but turns like it a device to open something. Best way to come across it is from OT zone line go right along the wall like your heading to BW and take the long path around and you will eventually come across it. If anyone has a clue what this thing is for e-mail me sirelven@hotmail.com or leave a post here.

Hey all a question for any of u who have argoed a cromad by accident.....being i need to pull and kite them on purpose. I know they debuff/dot but my question is how many hps the have and how hard and often they hit.....I will be a 55 sk fear kiting them with my pet, any suggestions on where to try doing this w/o adds.
thanks in advance
RE: cromads
# Dec 18 2003 at 10:22 PM Rating: Decent
I would suggest not to fear kite here. If you are a 55 sk you should be able to solo here, but you would do better to group. I soloed my 55 shammie here with few problems. I do suggest pulling to the walls, but fear kitting here can be dangerous. Also if you want to take on cromads dont count on keeping your buffs. They dispell often but are pretty easy to kill if you dont mind that part. Just keep an eye out for adds and be careful.

Just wondering if any1 has any idea what this is for? Was doing Zordak for an epic. This was gonna rot on the corpse. I was second to last to leave the raid, just me and our friendly neighborhood wizzy who was TL'ing every1. There seems to be no info on it anywhere. Seeing as how no1 else wanted it, and beeing the loot gobler dat me is, i looted it.

Any info would be appreciated.

Oh, btw, its' spelled PLASMATIC with no "blood soaked" in front

Soloing here

As a 56 shaman with a JBB, I must say soloing here for any reason other than spell drops isnt worth it for several reasons: 1. Constant chromodracs threat--these mobs dispell all your buffs and DoT you--not good. 2. Likely adds--depending on where you solo, you will probably get adds during the fight. 3. HP--mobs here may only be a few levels higher than those in BW, but have MUCH more hp--stuff near level 50 has minimum 10khp, some are closer to 15khp ( level 52 elder wyverns come to mind ). Even with a mana free DD, if you try to pet fight these your pet will need constant heals unkless you have aggro, and having unsnared mobs chasing you that hit for double 164 and have a nasty poison DoT is no fun.

Using root/JBB method takes too long, as you may need as many as 40 full strikes or more to solo these. At 8 sec cast time thats 6 minutes per mob if you are fighting anything hard. I can solo probably 3 giants or 5-7 hornets in the same amount of time it takes to kill one higher level SF mob. Even duoing with a necro is slow going, tho XP isnt so horrible. With a high level melee, say an epic monk, you can do good here, they really dont need much buffs and you then can fight the chromodracs ( just stay away from them they dispell a LONG way away ).

Only people who solo here on a regular basis that I see are people who play at odd hours ( like me ) and cant get groups or dont have the time to group/LFG.

Burning woods is better XP for me even tho half of what I fight may be green as the pet can solo them w/o my help as I med up.

you can actually make awesome solo exp here from 45 up with druid or necro. Was getting level per day with both classes at 45 up, just fight the weak stuff near bw zone to mid 50's, then move near rage camp after that and its still awesome exp to fear kite or root/dot.

How is faction in this zone. Say for a high elf chanter. Have max faction with ring of scale from MM. Wonderig if i would be safe to walk around, and what faction i would start with the minions of scale. Seems like a great zone to solo, and make some money at the same time.

The faction for the winged creatures here are
- Ring of Scale
- Minions of Scale
These factions are also in Burning Woods.
Once you start killing these you can mend Ring but not Minions faction,
so once you are KoS to them you will stay that way.

RE: safe

Yes, it is.
You can easily out run the creatures with sow.
You may ( rarely ) meet ONE creature in the druid portal. The neighborhood of the druid portal is far from wandering mobs.
FOr the wiz port, it is another story.
You can easily meet 6 critters on the wiz pad...

I hate hunting here but it is either that or pay for the spells in the bazaar, and I am not going to pay 3k plus for my lvl 56 shammie pet spell that is silly. Besides it is all a part of the roleplaying. Part of developing your characters personality.

dont solo here at 51, ur best bet is to camp the 2 wizzards in Neriak 3rd gate till 54 , its very boring but u cant beat the xp there.

I used to solo in neriak when hell lvl was still one from 51 to 60 and trust me you will never find better xp and easier kills than neriak .

If you re kos to DE, invis and run through neriak . Skyfire is ok if you find a partner otherwise it s not worth it in term of mana and lvl of mobs .

Zordack Ragefire -(Merchant) Level 60
Zone: Sol B - now is a 24 spawn with a 24 reset after a turn in.
Locatoin: Spawns He spawned beneath the flag at loc -1371.29, -332.22. Its just before the entrance the King tranix's lair. After turn in he despawns.
GIVE: Shimmering Pearl
RECEIVE Swirling Pearl (not sure of name)
Tactics: A good safe spot for camping (so you don't get agroed by FGs) is to the left of the banner across the lava river. There is a small ledge there. Tuck yourself tightly into the corner of the ledge and you should be safe.

Zordak Ragefire ( mob)
Zone: Skyfire Mountains - 24 Hour timer
Loc: 3300, -3300 NE Corner in front of a glowing ball at a dragon statue.
Level: 55
KILL: to spawn his true (dragon) form,
Zordakalicus Ragefire,
will spawn on the spot where he dies.
Tactics: There is a ledge behind him that is safe from aggro unless trained.

Zordakilicus Ragefire
Zone: Skyfire mountains - 24 hour timer
Loc: where Zordak RageFire dies
Level: 54 (dragon form)
KILL/ LOOT: Zordak RageFire Container (heart shaped)
Tactics: Zordakilicus Ragefire is a triggered clone of Lord Nagafen spawning in Skyfire Mountains. Normal Nagafen tactics apply, except that he runs at the end of the fight, and
may hit somewhat harder than Nagafen.

The skyfire Ragefire is NOT on a 24 hour timer, he is on a 6-7 DAY timer right now. He is not triggered by turning the pearl in to RF in SolB.

This is a bit old of a post, so I'll post just to clear things up a bit in case anyone has any doubt.

As of this date, the dragon version of ragefire is now a triggered spawn. The cleric must collect 4 shards and combine them in a box provided by the warder found in this zone. Hand him back the combined box to trigger the dragon.
RE: Ragefire

ok so we turn in the shimmering Pearl to him in Sol B and then he pops in Skyfire.
RE: Ragefire

no no no. in solb you hand rage your pearl and he gives you a new pearl and a box of binding. put the 4 shards in the box hand it to warder cylia or something like that in skyfire and dragon zordak pops in skyfire.

RE: Solo
# May 16 2002 at 6:28 PM Rating: Decent
Shaman soloing here at 49 is cake. Despite what some of the posts above say.

Best Plan Ever: Camp near Neg3500, Neg1500, about where you see the lava river dissapears under the cliffs. This is on the SOUTH wall of zone, for those of you who can't use loc as easliy as you use a fork. And if u cant use a fork, take this time to log off your browser and shoot yourself.

Anyway.

This is one of the safest spots in the zone. MOBS dont wander here, so there will be no adds. Now as a sham, there are two ways to solo. Buff your pet + slow + Haste + Heals heals heals. OR (the way i do it) DoT your MOBS then root them, when root breaks run away, reRoot, reDoT and so on, and so on. Its far safer to run back and forth on the south wall then anywhere else in the zone. Run no further EAST then the Ice Temple, and run to further WEST then the point where you can see the Graveyard Tower. Its a bad idea to run all the way to the tower, and pointless. If you didn't know, DoTs do more damage when MOBS are stationary.

The key is sit sit sit. When rooted, regen up, Its a real big pain when a MOB will resist your best 49 DoT (Which is Plague, NOT EBolt) 3 times. Canabilize is GoD.

If it seems like your mana is low, dont worry too much, Plauge works slow and long, and does 1120 dmg. It may seem like MOBS have more life then they do, thats cause the health bar wont respond to updates if you are sitting far away watching your MOB decay.

I am a 49 Sham on The Rathe server with only 187 Wis. If i can solo, YOU can solo.

Heres a list of the MOBS ive soloed successfully.

a Bottomless Gnawer
a Bottomless (Other Thing)
a Wyvern
a Skyash Drake
a Mature Wyvern (Hard Fight)
a Wurm (Pain in the ***, long melle range)
Guardian of Fielia

Exp is decent, and spells do drop here. But seem to be rare. For me anyway.

Good Luck

RE: Solo

??? That is a lot of running or healing. I am a 51 shammie on the Tribunal server, with about 196 wisdom. I zone in from OT turn to the left along the wall there. Between the OT zone and the dragon globe is where I hunt in SF. With C3 I cast pet and med up to at least 80M, then hit the pet with regen and speed buffs. Find what ever is closest and slow it and run back to the wall. Once I get close to the wall I cast root and sick the pet on it, cast Plague then E-bolt. I usually have to recast E-bolt once or twice. If root breaks take a hit then recast root, (The mob is slowed so you should only get hit once or twice before you get root off AND get back out of range). I have solo'd here that way for a level so far had have never died. I do get close if I go oom because I push the limit and don't wait until I have enough mana. This usually takes about 2-3 min about as long as it takes for Plague to run out to kill the mob.
Now for some one who says Plague is better that E-bolt. I think your a fool and don't know your spells. So lets compare:

E-Bolt (poisoned based)
320 mana
42 sec long
110 DD upfront
That is 146/tic for a total of 1132 damage.

Plague (diseased based)
300 mana
126 sec long
60 DD upfront
That is 55/tic for a total of 1215 damage.

So for 20 mana you get 83 more damage, If he stays still the whole time.

Question since you say Plague is better. Would you like to kill more faster @146/tic or spend your time running around @55/tic?

I can get 2 E-bolts and be casting the 3rd before Plague runs out. So that is about 2264 in E-bolts vs the 1215 in one Plague.

So with a mob that has 3K hp that is at least 3-4 Plagues for about 6-8 min. OR You can use 3-4 E-bolts for about 3-4 min. Doing the math over time I can get about 3 kills with e-bolt compared to the 2 kills with Plague. This is just using one spell or the other.

So with the above info I do believe E-bolt KICKS A$$ over the Plague. But this is just my opinion given the info I have found.

Now if you use BOTH spells you will get 201/tic for about 2 min. That is about 3479 in 2 min SWEET.

Now as for the Pet he is a DOT also (at least that is what I use him for). Thinking about it the pet does about 51 dam max for the level 49th pet per hit and according to castersrealm he also double attacks kicks and bashes. (Please correct me if I am wrong). The base for delay on all attacks with out weapon is 30, that is the hand-to-hand delay. (I think, again correct me if I am wrong). So that is averaging what 40 dam /30 delay over time because we never hit for max dam all the time?? Yea I know I could be wrong but I think I am close. Now cast your speed buff and increase your pet about 35%. That would make the delay about 20. So you have a pet that is 40/20 averaging SWEET!!!!!! That is a nice weapon you can command. I hear if you give them weapons that are faster than 30 in delay and that are 1-handers. The pets hit faster and harder. I cannot confirm this, as I never have that type of weapons around to just give to my pet. But your pet is a warrior basically, just a low level one. At level 50 the pet turns light blue and is still light blue @51.

So if you work it right you will take a little damage your pet will take the most of it. And you can clean up the mobs. While you med your pet gets health back at a nice rate and if you cast a regen on him OH MY. He will always be full HP when you’re ready to get the next mob.

Some of the even cons will beat your pet up bad and you will need to heal him so remember he is a nice DOT and meat shield. But he is not invincible.

As for the spell drops here i have went a week and not got one then i have gotten 5 a night(that is a 4 hr hunting time frame)

This is my 2pp OOPs
*scratched head while looking in pocket*
Can I change that to 2cp

I'd say you are a little low to solo here. There are a few MOBs that you could probably take down, namely the Bottomless Gnawers and Wyverns, but even they are pretty tough. If you want to try it, stick close to a zone line (try setting up just to the side of the Overthere zone) and, whatever you do, don't pull the Chromadracs (they will debuff all your spells, including regen and SoW). My Shaman has soloed here some from Levels 53-55, while waiting for my group to show up, and basically it's not worth it if you're after experience.

If you can't get any friends to go here with you, there are usually some pickup groups in the zone, so just see if you can get into one of them.

Killed this guy tonight - he's tough - made a few mistakes on him cause didn't know what to expect, but barely pulled it out. Seemed to move pretty fast.. barely stayed ahead of him with SoW.. runs at velious giant speed I would say.

He was at the entrance to Veeshan's Peak where the the Guardians and Ancients hang out. I was able to pull him out with a root by standing on the roof of the hall and casting on him after i had targeted him from a distance (didn't know if he summoned so this was a safe approach I figured - he didn't summon during the fight)

Dropped a "No Drop" scroll called "Adalora's Oath" - Any idea what this is for?

Do the named mobs (Black Scar, Felia Goldenwing, Guardian of Felia, Faerie of Dismay, a Lava Walker, a soul devourer, a shadow drake, a wandering wurm, a wurm spirit) drop these spells?

I've spent a few days camping these guys with a druid friend, and we got some GREAT drops. Frost, Fist of Karana (level 58), Wake of Karana, Breath of Karana.

Talisman of the Brute has also dropped (so I know shaman spells tend to drop here). I'm looking for my Bane of Nife and Tigir's Insects spells though and still haven't had any luck. Anybody know if they drop here?
RE: Bane of Nife/Tigir's Insects

Those mobs don't drop those shaman spells. Your best bet is Ancient Wyvern for those 2. Guardian Wurms drop Pox, Malo, Avatar so go after them for those 59 60 spells.
