Also known as the five towers of Teraaz, not much is known about the history of Kaesora.

Located beneath the Field of Bone, Kaesora was built during the rule of Rile Sathir and used as a citadel by Vampire Lord Chosooth. At some point in time, the inhabitants encountered a force strong enough to destroy them. Kaesora now lies mostly in ruins, haunted by those who fell in its confines.

As a chanter, I can make this zone a lot less lethal. With mezzes and timely applications of the color stun spells to keep mobs chain stunned and unable to heal themselves I have reaped amazing xp in the library with my guildmates. Paladins eager to try out their instrument of nife spell should head down to the library and take care of business, as once you pass the spiders, everything is undead. Loot is nice too. Why would you ever go to OT or fm if you have a couple of friends?
Tome Keeper
# Mar 16 2002 at 4:13 AM Rating: Default
We had just finished getting my monk friend her epic and decided to test it out in Kaesora just for getting another one of our friends her coin for bard's tamborine quest. The Tormented librarian was up in the library... 1, 2, 3 down for the count. Dropped a spirit tome. Now, the three of us that were there (2 druids and the monk) the monk didnt need it, and I was borrowing the other druids tome. So she looted it. Venturing inside the library we saw a mob named Tome Keeper. Conning Dark blue to 52, and indiffrent, we killed it anyway. It then hit me Tome keeper might want its Spirit tome back? any word on this mob as it isnt listed in the beastiar? It didnt have any faction hits or loot. not even a copper. Any info on this mob would be greatly appreciated.

Xalgoz is soloable as a 52 wizard. Invis up, pick a corner behind him. I was able to root and nuke the one other nearby that i was sure to agro, then root and ic xalgoz to death with little trouble. While medding i did agro one that seems to come from behind and beneath where xalgoz stands, but they are lite blue cons and only once busted thru my shielding.

If there are any TP guides out there give me a tell in-game.

The way i do it on my 51 cleric is i run down root the spiders/devourers that attack and then Re cast improved IVU go to the safe spot by Xalgoz and camp out, then camp back in with no aggros. Have fun camping it.

*cry* 48 hour of camping, yes full 48 hours and still no staff.

52 Wizzy: Invis to the undead, then change to ITU, walk all teh wya to Xalgoz, target him, then move to safe sppot behind him. Drop an ice comet, then a draught of fire, and while he casts a spell, drop another draught on him, then he is dead.
I have aquired tons of these as Wizzies are one of the few classes with ITU and Invis, so I MQ the Key with guildies all the time.

# Sep 16 2002 at 9:47 AM Rating: Decent
I used to kill him as a Shaman all the time too, but anyone can use the same methods to get to him fairly easily, potions exist for Invis and Shaman can make ITU potions.

Invis past the spiders (note-some see invis and will ***** up this method if they agro you), and then ITU past the undead, find Xalgoz, target him, move behind the church and cast on him to make him run to you, kill and gate.

Maybe. Me, being a 49 magician, was down there for about 2 or 2 and a half hours, but wasn't brave enough to go past the library. The only reason I had to leave was because more mobs them my pet and I could take came. Its a matter of taking it slow, staying careful, and always ready to cast gate.

I don't think so, especially if you have never been down there before. My wife and I almost died down there when I was 54 (necro) and she was 59 (druid). Very easy to get swarmed down there if you're not very familiar with the zone. You get few guys on you and not your pet and it ain't gonna be pretty.

If you brought a group yes. You will not find pickup groups here. The place is very dead(no pun intended) unless there are farmers or peeps looking for Xalgoz fangs. Don't try scouting around in here. Once you head down a pit you have to either gate out or walk a very long way around to get back to the exit. Regular invis is nearly worthless here. Lots of undead and see invis spiders.
Also I think 30 is a little low. 35th - 40ish would be ideal. Go to Dalnir at 30. Better chance of getting a group and the mobs will be less likely to kill you in 2 shots.

Every friday, myself and a bunch of friends go on mini raids to help eachother with things. Our group usually includes a 52 monk, 52 pally, 52 druid, 54 cleric, and me, a 31 pally =). We went to kaesora one night to get HS keys for the high lvls, I usually just come along for the fun of it. We pretty much ruled the place, fought our way to Xalgoz, not too tuff. We killed Xalgoz 2 times, both times he dropped 2 fangs. Every thing in the zone conned white to red to me. I suggest coming with your own group, you will most likely not find a group, and definately come with someone who can port you out, makes it a lot easier. Besides the fangs for the HS keys, no cool loot dropped while we were there, I was hoping for a dusty ransackers pack, but now I hear they drop only in the library (dunno if that true or not). I didnt get any xp while i was there since i was grouped with a buncha 50+, so couldnt tell you about that. Looks like a cool zone, looking forward to going back to it with my guild on a raid coming up. Good luck all.

well I went there with my lvl 40 Shammy friend...

lol..what a funky zone...first of all...you drop down into this pit with 3 ways to "supposidly" go...so...we try door number one...far left...

I accidently dropped into this side..friend jumped down with me ....umm...helloooo spiders...2 strathbone healers 2 bristleweb spiders came charging after us and we didn't even enter the room...wowee...man did they trample us...the time on those evacs soooo have to be modified...

anyways...got back in the cave and regained our corpses...decided to -not- go down that way again...tried rustling up some mobs with some aoes near the entrances since you can't go in the way you came out...there are pit type entrances to each path and the only way is to port or gate out...

and there was NOONE in the zone but us...so grouping *atleast on Vazaelle* is really not an option...unless you bring your friends along for the fun..

I HIGHLY suggest bringing atlest 3 ppl with you when you go...of above 30 level...since the lowest mob supposidly is 29 and the highest 40...

fun zone other wise...just bring a porter and some ppl and have some fun..

well atleast that's what I'm going to do..LoL...if anyone on Vazaelle wants to join the fun...contact me and we'll arrange a lil group raid of the place...

Good luck all...

Hey Zack, I know we've spoken before on Zeb (Laenin, Wood Elf Ranger). ITs quite unlikely you will get a group in here. Its sorta like BYOG (Bring your own group) but its pretty nice. Thing is noone ever wants to go cause its dangerous. Hell, we had a full group, with a lvl 40 cleric and 40 wizard, and STILL we died. There are so many hidden entrances and floors with holes that you cant see. Its tough unless you have someone give you a tour. Hell, being a 33 warrior, there's nothing much in here you would want anyway. There are a couple things, but its pretty risky to get these things on your own.

Just did this dungeon last night with a full group as follows:

34 shaman
34 Paladin
39 Rogue
40 Paladin
42 Rogue
49 shaman

We were able to handle pretty much any of the mobs quite easily, all were getting exp on everything except the 49 shaman, he only got exp on a couple of kills. Did clear the entire dungeon, of course. But this was definitely a good hunting dungeon! We came out in a little less than two hours with a couple nice items and great exp for me at 34. I would definitely bring a group here though, because finding one in the dungeon is not likely, and when you encounter those healers, they could make life very difficult for a single tank.
RE: your opinion...
# Sep 12 2001 at 8:33 AM Rating: Decent
Bring a healer anddon't count on being the Main Tank. Many of the mobs here self-heal, as well as fighting Monk-style themselves and you would be quickly out damaged by 2 of them as they healed each other.

If you bring your own group, Kaesora is a great place. 32 may be a bit low, but a full group at that level should be ok.

XP en Kaesora is as good as it gets. Lots of mobs, not too much level spread, and normally it is possible to fight a few at a time.

Kaesora is my all time favorite zone, but it can only really be done when you bring your own group, as the layout forces you to 'do' the dungeon, making it hard to get new recruits, and especially hard to get out when you can not gate.

RE: ancient coin
# Mar 30 2002 at 2:47 PM Rating: Default
The failed crypt raider's estimated spawn time (at 8 hours) is correct as far as I know, but he seems to be one of those mobs who knows when you get there to camp him, and THEN waits 8 hours to show up. Be prepared to hang out for a while. The good news is, he's a random spawn DOWNSTAIRS. If the tome keeper is up you don't need to worry about clearing upstairs much, as the tome keeper is indifferent. Everything but the tome keeper and the occasional iksar spectre (spawns in the same place) conned green/light blue to a level 48. The coin is 100% drop; he also may drop some rarer loot, a journal entry, and an illegible scroll type thing. My advice is, bring a druid for evac (just in case) and a tank type and a bard if you're higher level ... a full group at lower level (including druid) should also be okay. Set up camp somewhere in the middle of the downstairs to avoid aggroing outdoor spawns, start your coffee maker, and have at 'em. .. Lise Stormwind, Tarew Marr

RE: power of water
# Jul 26 2001 at 11:23 PM Rating: Good
I went in with a full group mostly lvl 30 a couple lower who were well twinked but no crowd control.
We did well with great xp till we got over-run and most died (I love Gate).
I saw 4 or 5 Power of Waters drop in the 3 hours we were there. We were down the left-hand drop in the first room and pulling from surrounding rooms.
This is a great dungeon but unless you are a mid 30's or higher group, I highly recommend going in with good crowd control and a Druid or Wiz to port you all out at then end of the session.

One nice thing about it being a one-way dungeon is only the extremely stupid try to train to the zone :). The downside is that tanks without an Evac mage get to stand and die then have a hell of a time doing CR as many mobs here see invis.

Someone asked about FD flopping, I believe it works as that's how a couple of low 30's monks got our corpses to the zone.
