Located on the northern coast of Kunark. An outpost in the northwestern region is occupied by Dark Elves who have aligned themselves with Venril Sathir.

At night, Dragoons can be seen patrolling the paths. Sarnaks, plantlife, and wildlife roam all throughout The Overthere while the scorpikis can be found in and around the massive chasm leading to Charasis.

there is a new mob right by PoK book . Called a collector of transference. Hailed him and he did not respond. He does seem to sell and had on item in his inventory.

There are a few of them scattered around in different zones - 4 found so far. They are of no use on live servers as they were only meant for the new server, Selos. Dev said they would be fixed in a patch soon.

He sells stone fragments named for the various cities and zones, which I presume are a way to travel between zones now in the "Original" era. Hence, why this vendor NPC would only be necessary for Selo since other servers which have opened later eras already have convenient travel methods. No one wants to wait for a boat ride anymore, it seems.

Was out in Overthere having fun killing cliff golems with my 71 sham, 71 war merc and level 68 dog pet...only buffs on us were primal essence, focus of the seventh, blessing of replenishment, spirit of bih'li, spirit sense and celerity. My sham only has 12 aa's, gnollish chain armor and doesn't have his full compliment of spells from 60 to 71. Was sitting around knocking off the cliff golems getting the usual adds (General and goons...)saw this guy standing around with his marines and was bored so decided to round them all up. Malos'd him single pulled him away from the marines but the two gargs added along with high priest and a goon, dropped them all then went after the marines. Things started getting hairy here...I dropped the marines, Rott spawned added on merc, then General added, then 3 goons, then gargs popped and added this still didnt bother me I was at about 50% mana and that's after dropping aforementioned golems, General and his goons...things were going fine then one by one the marines popped and added. I started spamming heal on merc he was bouncing from one mob to the next as they added, dog was stuck on a garg. I threw in a few malos and nukes (most resisted) dropped General, a goon and Rott...I was at about 15% mana, mercs health kept spiking down to about 13%, so burnt the mana I had on heals then when I went OoM just ran to pok book and left merc and dog to get seriously thrashed. So like others said go at night, don't fight in fort (aggro range is fort-wide for war goons, General and cleric goon as soon as you aggro something) also try to stay away from the gargs (at least the ones inside the fort) as they have a decent aggro range...and dont stand and fight Rott at his marines...there's no doubt people could handle them but respawn is quick for goons, General, marines, Rott and gargs...saying that it was fun...going back there now for revenge.
Hot zone?

I'm a returning player after being away a few years... I have a lvl 19 necro I was thinking about bringing here to solo on the weak side, does the lower lvl creatures here still qualify as in the hot zone? Thanks for the help!

Answering my own question... I went here at 19 and in no time I was 23. Was getting between 7-16% a kill!

GREAT as a hot zone! Levelled a new toon from about 28 to 38 here, and it was non-stop killin', about as fast as my regen could handle! Brings back memories of the good ole days, back when Kunark first came out!

not that i noe of, i just think they come after you when they walk right between you while u r fighting something else, at least that happened to me plenty of times
Aggro?
# Jul 15 2006 at 11:03 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, a lot of things here aggro when you walk by them. Wolf form keeps everything but the Sarnaks and possaibly Dark elves (The Dragoons) from arrgo'ing on you.

When i was high 20's low 30's i would grp on the ramp by Skyfire Mountions. It was great exp even before it was a hot zone, but beware of the dragoon peoples they are KOS and if u see them zone into Skyfire Mts. should be safe if you don't wonder out of and into the open. Also there is a very pretty view of a sun-rise there. Also, i have been playing my wizzie here and grping my Skyfire ramp is really nice exp, lvled from 28 to 30 pretty quickley.

I spend god know how long on overthere’s ramp grouping and solo alone in the plain as a lonely nec

This game is just special this big magical world , 20 years ago I was just 11
All these years all these games just no one can fill that void

This week me and my brother decided to just give in and return to EQ
It was great fun !

would this place be a good place for a level 20 magician to solo if i have temp and pet?
RE: good place to solo?

This is a tough zone for teens and lower 20's...but this is where I go to level my alts at that level. I am pretty well geared up and will box 3 with a higher level druid for heals/DS. You almost need the DS and even then you have a hard time finishing them off because if the mobs are too high it takes forever to kill them.

Since this is currently a hotzone I would recommend it if you can get into a group.

Is this a popular zone for characters in their late teens?

Would a character in his mid to late teens be able to get a pickup group here?
more pulling tips
# Dec 12 2005 at 2:36 PM Rating: Decent
now i have had lots of PL and train pull groups at SF zone, plus im high enough level to solo a small train of mobs (with temp). so,
SK only,
as before, have a DS and SoW, Temp and some mind buffs.
Spear of disease, terror of darkness/shadows, fast bow n few arrows and all ur DoTs. Keep ur pet guarding the top of the ramp.
Run out to the lake, /walk around, firing at things and aggroing loads. If you fire at one sanark in a group of 4 they will all coem aggro you, YAY. start walkign backwards when you feel you have lot enough HP to count for all the mobs u picked up. /run backward to SF, and fire randomly into train.Take a picture.*make sure your group can handle all thesem mobs*. Once at SF, u will ahve quit a few mobs racked up, and don't want them to aggro none but you, so ahve all tanker classes /assist you, and make the healer put a HoT heal on, and hack away. if they all attack you, and u have the best DS on you, alot of mobs will have a bit of health missin. NO AOE lol = aggro for whoever cast it. After one or two trains of mine, i got from 39 to 40. with a good group, the trains dont last long *only with DS otherwise, pull with DoT and prepair for a longer battle*
SF pulling
# Aug 31 2005 at 1:01 AM Rating: Default
i hunt at SF zoneline.. had a full grp and druid healing us (PL us) and i was pulling.im SK.
OT pulling tips, SF zoneline mobs

ok here is a tip for pulling. u have sow on, and run to the little pool then u press /walk so the mobs are runnung just behind you. run around the lake a bit, and use any spare skills (bash, quick cast spells)to aggro things. aways have attack on so when u target a mob it will hit u. then once u have 50% health walk BACKWARDS TO THE RAMP, USING THE MAP TO HELP. u will c ur train build up with mobs u have walked over backwards, who aggro u more when u walk backwards past them. now coz u have sow on they will always be more slower evem with u wlaking backwards, but if they r hitting u turn run on but keep walking backwards. once at the ramp turn around and hit things. with a druid DS on all mobs will hit YOU. if u are at like 10% and no one heals u FD...if no FD why did u read this? lol

Has anyone of a good race ever been spared by the dragoons when using an evil race illusion, i.e. illusion dark elf? Was just wondering, maybe will be brave enough to try it some day...

Well, I enjoyed the grouping as a Necro in OT. As a DE necro the exp is great especially with the sarnak braids quest. Get a few bags of Braids that drop off the Berzerkers there and turn them in to Captain Rottgrimme, 4 at a time for exp and faction. Lighie Bards, Rogues and Chanters can use Illusion and turn them in also. I've found xp there to be good from 30 to 40 with groups.

I have a 65Sk and a 41 Enchanter. This place is great to Pl in 15min i got 35% which is good exp at level 41. I pull 3-4 guys with my 65sk hit each of them down to around 10-20% after that i root all with my chanter and then FD with the SK. I cast an AoE 250 damage with chanter and boom 3-6% exp in around 2min. Great place to PL.

Thanks Wordor(bst), and Lanirab(Sk)

I absolutely love this zone for soloing. I have been here with my druid from 19 to 26, and have had nothing but success, and also the best use of befriend/charm animal. I root and dot until mana gets low, then find a dark blue rhino to charm. I use it to terrorize the local light blues while I med. And by the time the charm wears off, I am fully medded, and have a dark blue rhino at only 20% life, ready for the killing. The xp is consistent and the loot ain't bad. I would highly, higly, suggest this zone.

I've had the same problem before, in iceclad everything had a human graphic, even the boats. Try deleting the zone file from your main eq folder. This worked for me.
