yes everything is underwater. but can easily be over come with spells like enduring breath, or a bard's song. or potions that can be bought for around 11pp. and dont ever feel bad asking questions. there was a time when everyone that reads these boards didnt know something too. :)

Is everything in here underwater? If so when they git high enough level, iksar will OWN this zone, hehe. And if it isnt and this is a stupid question, dont burn me, im to low level ta know.

Just an added info on the raincaller.
It is *the* best bow in the game period, only usable by rangers -- added bonus of +6str and +6dex when carried, has 5 charges of firestrike which does some nice dmg =)

heh you made your post almost 2 years (2 expansions) later. heh if you really think the windstriker is best bow, check out the Bow of Doom that drops off doomshade in Umbral Planes :p

is it just me or do the items dropped off these super high level mobs seem pretty pathetic compared to the toughness of the kill?? No wonder this place is always empty and LGUK camped 24/7.

Is everyone KoS in Kedge? I thought the Kedge were good guys? I Know the sharks are KoS but what about the mermaids and everything else as a Wood Elf ranger. I'd just like to visit em not kill em would they be KoS to me?

I thought that the Kedge were good guys also. But I camouflaged myself and cast enduring breath on myself, went there, I was level 17 at the time, got to Estrella of Gloomwater, camouflage faded, and I was rooted and killed.

The Robe of the Kedge does drop here, off of Phingel Autrops the 53rd lvl master of Kedge. Robe is caster only ac8 Sta +10 Mana +100 wt. 1.5

There are two types of Shimmering sailfins... One is a Blue color (As in it looks blue not its con) and it chain casts 8th level Wizard spells. The other is Red in Color and when it dies it casts the Spell Fishnova (I'm not making this up, Look in the spfdat) that hits for 400-600 points as a point blank AE... So kill the blue ones and charm the red ones (they make for a nice nuke).

Anyone wonder why the heck the hair on the mermaids tend to stay covering their breasts even though they are underwater and they tail swipe and all when attacked? Aside from not upsetting the censors of this game, it just doesn't make sense

Any info on this criter? I understand a scale from it is used for a mage quest for the Temple od Solusek Ro.
The Mermaids for this quest live on various islands in the Ocean of Tears. You can also get it from the siren in Erud's Crossing but she is rather hard to find and is dangerous.
To find the mermaids take the boat from freeport to butcherblock and jump overboard where the boat sails between two rocky islands.

Golden haired mermaid, aka goldie, drops a lock of hair which is used as part of the raincaller quest. A very lucrative quest that will get you a great ranger bow, perhaps the best in game for rangers, and after all parts of the quest is complete, it will give you about half a bar of exp at level 50. Her placeholder is either "a mermaid" or one of the three types or common spawn piranhas.

The sharkone war hammer is drop by TWO mobs yes, that's right, one is Cauldronbubble, level 49 hammerhead who also drops the Hammerhead Helm (very VERY rare drop), 13 ac 7 str and 7 sta, AKA Crested Helm Extra. It is rumored that this helm no longer drops, but I can confirm that as of last wedesday, this helm is still being dropped, it is VERY rare. The other mob that drops the sharkbone warhammer is Coralyn Kelpmaiden, quite a rare spawn mermaid who also drops the sharkskin drum.

The sharkbone warhammer is NOT dropped by a mermaid! It is dropped by Cauldronboil. Stats are 14/24 wis +5 possibly more additions/subtractions. He is a high lvl shark that takes 1 high lvl group or 2 lower lvl groups to take down. He hits for 100+ twice a round

Appears in first room, rare spawn in the low to mid 40s I imagine his placeholder is a normal impaler swordfish, drops gloomwater harpoon a pretty decent weapon, heard he also will loot a cloak of some sort on occasion as well. Btw cauldronboil drops the sharkjaw cutlass as well as the sharkbone hammer.

There are quite a few low level fish in Kedge (the various sailfins). They're non-aggro and con very very green. Don't kill them though: they explode for 400 points of AE damage, which will not make you popular with your group.

Hammer Stats are 8 damage 26 delay and 5 WIS. 14 24 would make it a Plane weapon, heh

I've only seen the shimmering sailfins explode. All the others can be killed without worry and are an excellent way to get fish scales.

It drops from Cauldronbubble (not Cauldronboil AFAIK). Or at least it did when we killed 'Bubble yesterday :)
