The Estate of Unrest: Infamous in its earlier days for its massive trains, the Unrest manor is occupied by a clan of tormented souls, rumored to be the victims of a murderous rampage by the crazed dwarf, Garanel Rucksif, whose ghost resides deep in the estate's basement.

READ!!!! IMPORTANT!!ok i was over in unrest forever, 5 hours probly and it took me that long to find the two secret doorways to the basement where the tentacle s and dark s are for the mag epic. so if u read bout the bookcase i wrote about earlier listen up, if not then when you walk into the place turn off the height filter and walk towards the only staicase u can see on your map , its through a door and when you get inside the room turn right and click on the bookcase and it opens like a door. ok now everyone listen when you get down that hallway to the end go down the stairs and then up the stairs on the other side, dont worry bout killin those things i wasted so much tim w this!! its not a door its just a blank wall and just walk through it and go down that hall, when u get to somethhing that looks like a lava pit dont go around it!! u fall into a fricken pit and have to climb up the ladder. go through the lava stuff and go on through and that will lead u straig to the stupid things!!! YOUR WELCOME!!

WORD OF ADVICE
# Feb 07 2007 at 8:33 AM Rating: Decent
Word of advise from old school toon. Start with fighting yard trash. As you get more confident you can pull from 1st level of inside of house (exspect1-3 adds). Once this becomes easier for you you can venture one level at a time upstairs. The mobs get gradually harder per floor. Save the basment for last. The basement is the toughest and gets harder the deeper you go.(hidden walls, trap floors and the like)

The name of the belt is simply called "Belt of the Dead". Its a nice piece of armor... too bad I can't use it-- just give it to an alt. :D Most of the nice armor is surprisingly common. I have run into the same piece of good armor three or four times each-- too bad it's lore. Unrest is an excellent zone for extremely quick XP (I can get 2 or 3 levels in just an hour or so) for the level 20-30 range and some nice loot, too. :) Overall, Unrest is a GREAT zone-- my favorite.

Happy Hunting, all!

Would this zone be worth visiting for a warrior (solo- non twink)? If so, what level would be acceptable for me to go here?

Many thanks in advance

I am there right now as a 15 Ogre Warrior non-twink. I can solo the Tormented Dead, Death Beetles and Jack O Lanterns. Just watch the agro. The stupid beetles swarm like crazy if you attack something near them.

Clearing all floors for 2 hours netted me 12 warbone chips and only one jade shard. Many they are rare. Btw, I do not farm if young peeps are in the zone. Dark blues and lt blues in the basement to my 41 monk. Be wary of the festering hags. One dk blue nuke me consantly for 300 and 450. Ouch.

so far i have done this quest 11 times in two days 4 or 5 boxing with all level 70s. Using bard to pull i will share my strategy that gets this done in about 30 min or so. First, run someone up to balcony where the bodies are. right hwne you see the first emote jump off and run back, you should make it in time. kill the 2-3 mobs right in front of tunnel. then run around the maze on the right and pull the named from the gazebo...any FD puller should have no problem. theyd o not agro you until you jump INSIDE the gazebo.
Pulling the lubrarian is easy enough. IVU if you have it (or clear the way to stairs). run up there with your FD/bard puller and hit the librarian then jump off and run to tunnel...wait for lib to come out of the house and FD. every time he has been the last one sitting there. kill it.
IVU and go into basement up to the lava pit (werebats see invs). kill the 2 wandering mobs, the 2 at pit, the 2 near garanel and split him frm the mob in his room.
this takes roughly 30 min with my group. no lockout time. it cuts back on EXP but you get a lot of chances at nice loot.

Believe it or not 1 Aug and 9 cloaks so far!!

group consists of 70 war, 70 bard, 70 sham, 70 wiz and sometimes 70 cleric (pretty much just nukes and shammy heals).

Wandering pilgrims, Quellious followers found around the estate are non-aggressive, and are unable to be attacked. I tried, lol..and nothing happened. I have always loved Unrest and I am glad that they finally implemented some history of the haunted grounds.

Question: anyone know if the remains of the elves up on the balcony are used for anything? They are target-able but not sure if they do anything. My guildies and I love doing this quest =)

Group of avarege below 68 had trashmobs mostly around 65, Garanel lvl 67 and the magemob DB to a 66. When group hit lvl 67 avarage, the trash mobs were all the way up to 70, and Garanel red to a 69.

Very nice XP in here, 2 boxing 68 bst and 67 dru, and had a 69 druid friend with me i gained bout 2.5 AAs on clearing the yard. No real trouble tanking with the BST (7.5khp, all avoid AAs, most mitigate AAs), druid kited/rooted adds.

Didnt go for nameds that time tough, will try it later. Anyone have info on the 2 nameds with a 68+ group pls? HP/max hit/summons/resistance etc?

The lvl 67 Garanel is easy, everything lands on him, and didnt even take one heal on the BST one of the times we took him.

The Curse Begins

Starting this quest zones you into a special instanced version of Unrest laballed The Mansion of Unrest:The Curse Begins.

Starter NPC is in Butcherblock Mountains Name of Savil Tranquilsong, a high elf in white robe located just N.East of the LDoN Wayfarer Camp, near the GFay ZL.

Follow thru the dialogue with a group average level from 55-70 or simply tell him "I am willing".

After the promted text is spoken a "Savil's Wand" item appears on your cursor. It is Magic, Lore, Notrade and has one charge of "Savil's Time Portal" (cast time 10.0) which ports your group back to Butcherblock, once you have completed the mission.

Will have to post factual data from eqlog in a bit, but rundown of quest checklist looks somethin like this.

1. Zone into Dagnor's Cauldron
2. Speak with Savil's Assistant (green cursor appears like in DoN missions-leading to assistant a female high elf on the island in middle of DC)
3. Travel thru time to Unrest Mansion instance (hail assistant and say "I am ready")
4. Stop Garanel Rucksif from killing the priest of Quellious (it is part of the storyline, you cannot stop the kill from occurring-simply wait at the zone in until the zonewide shouts take place indicating that Garanel has killed him).*
5. Loot XX [Bauble/ToVK looking item - name?] off the creatures at the Gazebo (3 mobs at gazebo)
6. Loot Book of Knowledge off the creatures upstairs in the mansion (think the tower where Undead Knight normally spawns)
7. Kill Garanel Rucksif
8. Loot XX [dead priest's necklace item - name?] from Garanel's corpse*
*quest is actucally completed after looting Garanel, but you can get a little extra xp by returning the 3 quest items to Savil in Butcherblock
9. (Optional) Return to Savlil in Butcherblock
10. (Optional) Give Savil the 3 quest items

*note several NPC humans labelled as followers of Quellious (lt blue to 68) are roaming around before and up until the killing of the priest zonewide shout. We didn't attack any of them, and they were indifferent to our Necro (the only evil char we had). Don't think you are supposed to kill any of them, and not sure if you are penalized if you do :).

Pretty simple and easy quest for nice xp at 68 (got about 12-15% actual xp from one run thru), but need a good group, some form of CC for adds, healer, slower and a good puller, as the yard hosts a load of roaming mobs all conning from Dblue to yellow (lvl varies according to average of group).

Group consisted of 68PAL, 65PAL, 70DRU, 70NEC, 65SHM, 65ROG (group ave lv67). Single pull as much as poss, ALWAYS pull to a wall to avoid adds. We had nice DPS with the necro and pallies, but the adds can be a pain (they were immune to our necro's slow and mezz).

Garanel Rucksif conned red to 68 (ie: >lv70), and dropped like a sack of potatoes. Think he hit alot in the 2-500s and maxxed somewhere from 8-900s with 1800AC and basic defensives at 68. Didnt even have to waste Defensive disc on him, he dropped so fast. Estimate his HPs somewhere around 55-60k(hit him for 2% with 1100DD), pretty weak for a 71+ mob. DPS him down ftw.

Chest pops immediately upon killing him, and ours also contained the FT2 "Cloak of the Fallen Priest" listed in posts below. E-mailing pic of the clock to alla along with this post. It was nice of SoE to give some kinda high end undead back to the Knights, Clerics and Necros :)
