This forest serves as the gateway into Norrath for the wood elves of Kelethin and high elves of Felwithe. And with Ak'Anon and Kaladim so close by, it is not uncommon to see gnomes and dwarves throughout the area as well.

Don't let the safety of Kelethin's well-fortified boundaries fool you. While the area has numerous guard posts and patrols, the further you travel away from the city the higher level of danger and risk you will encounter.

The orc stronghold of Crushbone can be found along the northern boundaries of the forest while the darker, more dangerous Lesser Faydark lies to the south. Only those more experienced should consider travelling to the two areas.

Just wanna give advice to those who wanna hunt Orc Hill WAY to early. I see way to many people there yelling for help. So if you cant handle it... Don't Go!

This is truly one of the best newbie zones in the game. I'm a level 9 wizard, and things are still a challenge for me near CB. THe times that really tick me off is when I go to Orc Hill, and it's not being camped!!! I get overwhelmed. It's great now though, I can kill wasp drones in two hits with a Runed totem staff, and can kill Orc Pawns with one spell. Centurions are a different matter... And I explored nearly that whole zone before I left to train at Erud's Crossing (not the place a caster should train at alone) and have never seen an Orc legionare. Only in crushbone. By the way. Anyone know how to raise faction with the faries? I killed some tricksters a long time ago, and am afraid to go into Lesser Faydark.

Orc Shamon

I ran into one of these as a level two lost in the woods so to speak before I caught on the the full use of LOC. I saw him and ran like mad, only to run into a pair of Orc centerians. He was alone just standing in the woods a little outside of the Orc camps.
orc shamans

If you found a Hammer Of Flattening on an Orc Shaman, another player put it on the Orc.
Orc Shamans
# Aug 05 2000 at 2:08 PM Rating: Decent
These guys are kinda strange. They seem to be the same level as oracles but they're *very* rare. They don't drop anything that normal orcs don't drop and they cast the same spells as the oracles. Anyone know what they're for? Seems kinda strange to put in such a rare spawn (they live around orc hill, btw) for no reason.

I've been in greater faydark lots and started many a character here and only seen an orc shaman thrice.

oh yeah VERY rare...
they hardly spawn all, let's say..., 5 minutes, a truly rare spawn! and, whoot, they drop anything another orc drops too. quite a task to talk about...

I've seen a few higher lvl than the oracles and there is a hammer of flattening rumor spreading.
POD
# Aug 04 2000 at 2:37 AM Rating: Decent
This is always good for a laugh. Have you ever wanted to see POD Die? Well if your a Druid try this one out get the Befriend animal spell then go over by POD,Then target a bat or wolf, cast the befriend spell on it, Then have it attack POD. Now it won't really go after him but as soon as you give the command the guards turn on POD and a great battle will comence go ahead check it out. Oh yeah never hit him Ever! You have been warned.

First off, orc pawns are NOT 1-1, they are 2-2..there are no orc legos in gfay, and the POD did look like one of the village people. oracles are NOT 8-15, more like 4-5. and the Faerie guards are not 15-24, more like 15-18. bandits aren't 9-12, more like 4-7. and there are no Will-O-Wisps in gfay, that's a completely different thing. they are called Willowisps. (no hyphens, those ones spawn in West Commons). and yes it is possible to kill a guard, i've seen it happen. (it took a newbie to die and sic 3 guards on the POD though)

How GREAT GFay is!
# Jul 20 2000 at 10:29 PM Rating: Default
In my Opinion GFay is the most GREATEST place in Norrath for 1-15.Plus its a Beauty.First is the Newbie Area right near Kelethin id say about 1-4.Then theres the Orc Hill near CB.That spot is 5-8 i think.Anyway but my 5th lvl went there and got killed a couple times also there are usually trains there so id stay near the end of the Path or maybe near the first camp u see following the path.Anyway,If yer about 8 or 9 then u should go to the slave caves which arnt usually camped. If your 10 and up then go to the Castle and if your 19-22 u should prolly go upstairs and wait there for some NPCs with good loot.Thank u :) and good luck
Is it actualy possible to kill a Guard?
# Jun 29 2000 at 7:40 AM Rating: Decent
Well you know those gaurds and so agrivating. I mean just earlier today I forgot to stop my Cords of Dissonace spell and he frigen blew my head off. By the way have any of you guys seen the PoD lately? He looks like one of the village people.
Devin Ashwood
# Jun 28 2000 at 1:05 PM Rating: Decent
Devin Aswood is for a ranger quest for their lv 49 or 50th spell called call of Flames (i think not sure) go to Allakhzam's to see the whole quest.
Devin Ashwood?
# Jun 26 2000 at 9:34 PM Rating: Decent
I've seen this npc casting a spell (Devin Ashwood begins to cast a spell) while wandering the platforms and have never been able to find him/her. I have a ranger and druid char and I don't think they are guild npc's, then again I could be wrong.
Orc Centurions
# Jun 16 2000 at 3:48 PM Rating: Decent
The Orc Centurions in Greater Faydark are really around 4-8. At level 8, most con blue or green to me, and I've never seen one that's higher than white.
Hrm

They look like regular people but they are deathfist orcs?
They are rare spawns and infinite spawns?

Smells fishy to me
this is kinda big
# May 19 2000 at 11:59 PM Rating: Default
In the GF there are rare spawns named forky and morky that are about lvl 15 i think. You can tell them like a regular person but when you hail them instead of saying "hail" it says "haily morky" or hail forky the issue has been siad that they are gms not true they are NPCs that have been sent to just be there they are non agro if any of you want a pic i'll try to get one i think they are pladadins who can feign death and zone if they are getting whipped there are infinite spawns and as soon as another one is kille dnaother one spawns they hit around 22dmg (they are deathfist orcs not CB orcs)
cents
# May 15 2000 at 8:58 PM Rating: Decent
no wayr orc cents 8-11, im lvl 6 and most are blue to me, except for the big ones they are yellow.
....
# May 09 2000 at 10:56 AM Rating: Decent
I am a High Elven Magi on E-Marr, and i do very much care for the great forest of GF. And the orc cents beiung 8-11 is wrong because i am 8 myself and most con blue to me, i have had a green, white, and yellow at lvl 8.
emporer crush
# May 04 2000 at 10:02 PM Rating: Default
if any one knows or if they could please post it, what exactley is emporer crush's level in crushbone?
orc centurions
# Apr 17 2000 at 8:28 PM Rating: Default
I don't think orc centurions are lvl 8-10 because I'm only lvl 3 and some cents con yellow to me, which being a druid, are easy to kill!
GFay Bandits
# Apr 14 2000 at 11:20 AM Rating: Decent
The bandits in the cam south of Kelethin lower than 9th level...I was hunting that camp at 9th and many of them were green to me. The highest ones were blue. I think they're more like 5-8.
