While their Taklasinai elders reside much further below Lavastorm Mountains, the Goblins of Fire Peak use this cave system as their stronghold. Co-existing with the goblins are some clockwork gnomes, here after the minerals this area has to offer.

Gnomes aside, the goblins have quite the home for themselves, complete with a bar, bedrooms, and other homely features. While most would find the heat to be too stifling, these goblins enjoy the hot temperatures so much, they have built fire places into many of their living quarters.

Solusek's Eye is not all fun and games, however, as the goblins do not welcome visitors. If you trespass here, you had better be able to handle yourself fighting off multiple goblins at the same time. As many of the goblins see through invisibility, you will not make it far unnoticed, and they do have a tendency to swarm their enemies.

*edit.....ok its not a MOB, its when i get hit by a blazing elemental that it says "Blazing elemental hit you for 5 damage"

I know the zone pretty well, so those two drops I got when I came back there lately seem to be new to me :

Goblin Blood, no drop, stackable, looks like a regular diagonal vial, but filled with yellow liquid.

Goblin Meat, no drop, stackable, looks like any regular piece of meat.

(*EDIT* : both dropped off regular non named goblins)

In 3 hours of farming solA, and killing everything that moved, I got 6 Bloods and 1 Meat. So I guess this is pretty rare stuff. Any of you has an idea for what it is used?

I checked eqtraders, and nothing about it. Must be something rather new.

Not sure, but those sound like the drops that Aqua Goblins from Butcher Block mountains used to drop. They used to be LvL 10-11 mobs that dropped loot worth 3pp until they were nerf'd. Maybe those drops you've found are still worth 3pp? Worth checking into.

No Drop = No Sell.

NPCs will not buy No Drop items.

If I could hazard a guess, it may possibly be related to the new Solusek C zone? Perhaps killing gobbies, looting their blood/meat and turning it in to the Kobolds gains you faction, since the Kobolds do give some quests.

There's probably related drops off the Kobolds to give for gobby faction, I imagine.

Fiery Ore?
# Mar 15 2003 at 12:31 AM Rating: Decent
I come here when I'm bored and make some Change. 59 Rogue sneaking and hiding, you can camp all named non-gnomes in one loop. I generally make about 150pp/hour here cash, and come out with some nice items like Impskin Gloves, Glowing Stone Band (Serpent Sight Ring) and a lot of low level focus items that sell pretty quick in the Bazaar. On top of that, the Goblins drop 2 different Poison ingredients that I've been using to skill-up.

The only thing I can't find information on is the Fiery Ore. I get it on about 15-20% of kills and end up vendoring it cause no one know what it's for. Any ideas?

Also, for anyone running named camps in this Dungeon, BEWARE OF THE Elementals and Efreeti - Their DS is EVIL (20ish/hit) and has almost taken me out more than once, even with 2khp.

the ore is used in smithing look at the www.eqtraders.com web site under recepies and smithing look for the fiery forged and there is another firebrant i think..... it is for weapons and armor that trivial in the 200's for smithing
RE: Fiery Ore?
# Apr 21 2003 at 9:47 AM Rating: Default
fiery sheet of metal = 2 bricks of fiery ore, fiery temper, sheet becomes trivial at or around 87.

Each sheet of Fiery metal can be used in something like forged firebrand / fiery forged weapons which involves fiery sheet of metal, fiery temper, appropriate weapon molds trivial low is the longsword at 126 and the halberd at 139.

This is a kinda tough zone
# Mar 03 2003 at 6:27 PM Rating: Decent
Well this zone is best taken at lvl 25+ partner, I came here at lvl 26 with my 26 bst friend so together ( With Kei i might add ) we did alright and only died about one time from the odd trains. Just a Warning if you do find yourself with a pet running off you better zone it because you will get a minimum of 20 goblins and they all seem to spawn right at lavastorm zone instead of running to you. So one minute your pet is finishing something off and the next you have 30 goblins behind you.

As a 37 SK, I was wondering if I would be able to come here and find a gorup to join up with, or, would i have to come with a group/solo. Also, is the xp and loot worth it for me to try here at my current level? Thanks
RE: Would this be worth it?
# Oct 02 2002 at 11:31 PM Rating: Excellent
Yes, it's good for exp and loot at your level. Based on my experience, you should bring your own group though, when I've been there it's been with my guild and the place was almost empty. I don't believe it's a good zone for finding a pickup group.

Solsuk Eye the same thing as Solsuk A? This a good place to level fast? Whats the argo? Just got done with Paldul Caverns (Great place). Im a lvl 27 Ranger.
RE: Sol A or Eye?
# Aug 04 2002 at 12:42 AM Rating: Decent
yes sola = Eye. This is a great place for someone in your level, exp is like another paldul! Only catch is goblins can get nasty. Wizards and shaman both nuke hard and shamans slow and root also, try to stay away from them. Goblins aggro alot, have high aggro when you attack another goblin, and even greens will attack you if you run past them. Not many people fight here though, shame... best exp i've seen for mid20s-lower30s

Druid? Don't you want to be outside? For the comparison this, but only if you take a group .. the zones biggest advantage is that there is never any competition over camps, while Highkeep is permanently full. However for a druid possibly neither, go to SK?
RE: What is better...
# Jun 03 2003 at 5:33 PM Rating: Decent
Yes SK is best for a younger druid

You are still too limited in spells to be hunting a underground fire dungeon. Most of your best spells are either outdoor only or fire based. You'd have better luck reversing a hurricane with your own breathing if you get in deep there.

Head to the Karanas (The East: crag spiders & Broon the North: griffawns, griffenes they are animals so use fear The South: is best Avaiks, Centaurs, and Gnolls of far ranging levels wih good loot). You can solo and even quad kite there easily.

Soloed from 25-30 and got very good loot at times and practiced several useful druid class techniques. Then up to Dawnshroud Peaks on Luclin to hunt, solo or group the exp is insane either way

All these zones are VERY druid friendly where as dungeons are decidedly not.

Really until your in your late 30's and get a few more indoor usable spells (as well as stronger heal & regeneration) your not much good except for support & minor heals. Until your stronger lets just say you'll probably get yourself killed a few times over going on corpse runs

RE: Grouping

Most of the time, you will need to form a group before coming here. Other than that, I sometimes see groups of mid 20's to mid 30's hunting, and as for farmers, there are some, but believe me, there are plenty of mobs for everyone. If you find a group at your level, I would suggest the bar room. The goblins won't aggro over the bar unless you get close to it, and the goblins in this area are flames, fires, and infernos, good for a mid 20's group. Another good place is up in the northern goblin areas, past the foreman room. Goblins are separated in groups of 2-4, and with a good puller or crowd control, can be managed easily. I almost never see wandering goblins, and the tunnels in that area run in a circle, so it is possible to just keep moving to the next area for nice exp. Based on my personal experience here, I would heartily recommend this dungeon. Of course, my group consisted of me (druid), and a monk, so we kept to single/double pulls.

I went in here as a 54 shaman to help a druid guildie to get a CGS and maybe a Gnomish environmental suit for me. I have to say that my slows got resisted more on level 25-30 mobs than fighting level 40-45 hornets in BW. We got the CGS easy enuff, but never saw Capt. ******** ( or whatever his name is ) spawn at all. Beware that its very easy to get swarmed by greenies here and even a 3 person group of 54 shaman, 40 monk and 50 enchanter damn near got wiped out a few times. Do not underestimate these mobs. The goblins are cake but the clockworks can be a real problem if you arent careful.

i am currently a lv 47 sk with a temperesed velium war lance, fbss, and 850ac ubuffed, i was planning on after raising gnome faction if i could get to the merchant that sells bag of tinkerers and tboots without any trouble? I've heard that everything agros regardless of lv and invis isn't much help, what i'd be worried about would be hordes of 20s-30s mobs ganging up on me, so just how easy is it to get to room 7(eqatlas) from lavastorm? and what lv/class mobs should i expecet?

I started hunting here as Doubla at level 33 doing the kindle area, from 33 to 36 ended up with 4 pairs of imp skin gloves and in loot items about 800pp or so over 4 days at 4 hours per day, great place to hunt especially if not kos to gnomes, just walk right over to sell. Also got 5 of the rings to drop as well. My equip was full wu's gear gnome skin gloves, and COT in main hand or used tarmok battle staff on mobs with damage shield, never once had a close call.
Sol A rocks!

This place rocks. A small group (2 or 3) of us have gotten 3 levels in 2 nights (lvl 23- lvl 26) The loot is really good too.
