This massive ocean separating Faydwer from Antonica is home to many creatures.
There are sirens, goblins, spectres, seafury cyclopses, aviaks, and local pirates.
The two main islands provide a bit of comfort with some vendors, an inn and Tunare-aligned wood elves.

Two popular attractions of the Oceans of Tears would be Allizewsaur and the Ancient Cyclops.
Allizewsaur roams an island in the south while the Ancient Cyclops can be found east of Seafury island.

To get to the ocean of tears from Butcherblock Mountains, see Translocator Fithop on Northern pier west side of zone. She is located real near /loc +1,353, +3,256. Not in map find.

"A Cyclops" (PH for AC) = exactly the same as SF clops?
# Mar 15 2002 at 11:59 PM Rating: Decent
While trying out the OOT AC spawn after two weeks spent in Sro w/o getting a ring i was confronted with "A Cyclops"'s. The ones i saw came as low as blue and as high as yellow. Once one dropped, if i remember correctly, A Fire Opal, which is listed as one of the SFs drops. For these reasons i'm inclined to think they are exactly the same as SF clopses exept for the name.

Let me tell u these things are no pushovers. I'm 41 necro with 201 INT and some lowly mana gear and a blue one ate all my mana (fear kite with 39 pet and loading on DOTs - i got off a fear and camped just in time to survive) and came back for more. The HP range ppl posted on SF clopses looks to be about what these "A Cyclops"'s have maybe 4-5 k. I'd say a player would need lvl 44 in order to solo these, and/or a TON of mana. Resist wise the blue was not affected by a few magic based spells but i wouldn't consider it overly magic resistant.

Anyway i just thought i'd post this since "A Cyclops" is not listed in the bestiary, so ppl can consider the posisbility that they are exactly the same as "A Seafury Cyclops" in all but name. BTW if u can't stomp the "A Cyclops"'s on AC island u have no chance against AC. AC's lvl varies based on which zone u find him in - i hear EK version is lowest, SRO is in the middle, and the one in OOT is quite a bit higher than all the others. Here in OOT i understand he's got a k or so more HP than his most common PH the "A Cyclops"'s and hits 98 triple - i have never seen him here and cannot confirm this but it sounds accurate enough. A group of two or more players with a min of 40 could PROBLY handle AC on his island if he popped. I got the help of a 52 Pally and together we were able to handle the clopses pretty easy (light blue con to pally).

I camped the ring the other day as a 53 cleric. There was lots of these guys and most were dark blue. I only saw one light blue.

They're easy to kill when you have a partner (I had a 53 mage at first, and a 55 monk later), but a 53 cleric can't solo them. They drain all your mana, and you don't wanna be oom when the ac pops. I don't think the monk would have been able to solo them either. They take too much of his hp, and it wouldn't be good to be low on hp when the ac pops. I think the mage probably could have soloed them though.

I am very curious about what level these guys are and how much hp they have. There was a 43 druid who wanted the ac camp because she said it gave her good xp, but I can't imagine that she'd be able to solo these guys if a 53 cleric can't. (Are druids that powerful?) I also wonder if they're easier or harder than the ac. I had to heal the monk on every fight with these guys, but not on the fight with the ac.

Same loot table as seafury cyclops. There are three other placeholders, which are all very low level. (The ogre ph hurts Oggok factions.)

(BTW, if you can't solo them and you're parter's not there when they pop, wait for them to despawn. It takes about 10 minutes, but you wouldn't be able to regain all your mana before the next spawn. The ac also despawns in 10 minutes, so you better be ready to fight him when he pops. Don't waste your valuable mana or hp on these guys when you need it for the ac.)

The AC camp is very easy for a druid, with root/dotting they can start to take it from 34 with very few, or no problems.

bout the sea serpent getting on track, if you get that allewazaur on track, it will say allewazaur not sea serpent, but if it says sea serpent? i dont know. i think the sea serpent is the kracken or maybe even megaladon because if you go to everlore, there is pages upon pages of notes people have written about them. the fact that giant shark teeth have been found in whales and that dead giant squids(krackens) have washed up on shore might make verant put them in EQ because they might actually exist. anyway i think that (sea serpent) is just a cover for the kracken or megaladon because it is suck a big freakin mystery

Most of them will be green to you, while others (the named ones) will be red to you. Just watch out those (and the 2 dwarves) and you should be fine. There are also 2 Pirates roaming the island which are level 14 - 16, they should be no problem for you.

Seplawishinl Bladeblight
# Jan 20 2002 at 4:13 PM Rating: Good
A weird fellow on the same isle as the inn stop for the boat going from BB to FP. His name is Seplawishinl Bladeblight.

I (a level 60warrior), was turning in items to Denken Strongpick for the ancient sword blade, a piece for the warrior epic, on aviak isle. I then, while waiting for the boat on the Inn isle, decided to look around. To my surprise, this "gnome druid" as I call him was there. He conned white (even) to level 60 and scowled at me (dark elf). He was at the other side of the island (opposite of the inn), near a monolith.

He wore a greenish robe that looks the same as robe of living fungus and had a bear pet like a druid. I can only assume he's a "gnome druid". I have no desire nor could I rally enough people to go out here and kill him to see what he drops, but other people may.

thx info?

Little ******* aggroed me. He dispelled my SoE and rooted me and then Nuked me to death (I was also doing the Warrior Epic turn-in). I'm gonna get his info (maybe get my guild to give him a nice whoopin, too) and post it here.

Edit: I sent in a SS and some info on this guy a few weeks ago. Wonder why it hasn't been put in yet. How long does it normally take?

As a Human Cleric of Karana I did not expect to have any problems passing sister Island--but now for some reason the female Guards there are KOS to me. What faction are they on so I can try and raise my faction? And no I have no idea what I did to lower faction with them in the first place.
RE: Sister Island Faction
# Nov 26 2001 at 6:33 AM Rating: Excellent
Hey.

The sisters give the following factions, on death:

[li][link=eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?faction=67]-Soldiers of Tunare[/link]
[li][link=eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?faction=67]-King Tearis Thex[/link]
[li][link=eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?faction=67]-Faydark's Champions[/link]
[li][link=eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?faction=67]-Clerics of Tunare[/link]
[li][link=eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?faction=67]+Crushbone Orcs[/link]

This being the case, I would assume they are on one of the four factions, that are lowered. I'd be inclined to guess it's the Warriors of Tunare, since they are all warriors. (But this is pure speculation.)

I have linked the factions to their pages within the bestiary, so if you click on them, you can see what will raise and/or lower your standing. I did this mostly because I'm playing with UBB code a lot at the moment. None-the-less, hopefully, it will be useful to you.)

One thingto watch with these girls, is that there seems to be some sort of bug with the boat. On most boats, an NPC will ignore you completely. On the OoT boats, this is the case only when the boat is moving! (I hunted there quite some time ago, so it's possible this has been fixed.) This means that when the boat is sitting at Sister's island, if you are visible, you may be attacked. interestingly enough, as soon as the boat starts moving, the Sister will stop hunting you and return to her spawn. (I came horrifically close to dying once, due to this and was saved by the boat moving!)

Hope this helps.

As of January 2002, you can still be killed while on the boat in the Ocean of Tears. My 17th level human bard was killed by Allizewsaur while the boat was at the dock. She never left the boat, there were footsteps (could have been someone pulling the beast onto the boat, I suppose), and then a quick beat-down which left her corpse under the world, according to the Guide who had to resurrect her. The Guide told her there was a bug involved.

Moral: If you die on the boat in OoT, /petition. :) Chances are, there isn't any way to retrieve your corpse otherwise.

Hey.

I dunno why you pinned that on my post about faction hits for hunting the Sisters of Erollisi. *Shrug*

Anyhow, there seem to be some pretty serious issues with boats in OoT. I've never come across anyone bein' attacked by the Allizewsaur, but Seafury cyclopses attack people on the boat quite often. (It's happened to me about half a dozen times! *Sigh*)

As for corpses ending up in odd places, I tracked a corpse for someone about a week ago and it too was out of bounds. I tracked it to the South-West corner of the zone. And it was due South from there.

I've heard of a few other people complaining that their corpses have ended up in places where they can't be redeemed. (Although they can apparently still be summoned by a necromancer.)

If this happens and you have to /petition, buckle in for a long wait!

See ya in Norrath.

I am lvl 51 and there is a *red NPC + pet* on track when I was on Zachariah Reigh's island. Unfortunately, I forgot to take down his name. But his name is definitely not on the list here (there is only one lvl 54+ on the list here and it's a she without a pet). If this NPC is not a quest NPC or a guild master, I am NOT swimming in OOT anymore.

And no, I did not mix up OOT with TD :).

I saw him also, he's a gnome and had a bear pet like high level druids get. Didn't respond to hails, nor was he able to be used, as in a merchant or trainer. Glowered at me, I was a Gnome Wizard on Sullon Zek. Deity is Sol Ro. Not sure what faction he's on though.

Sentry Xyrin is a Sentry of Passion, working for the Temple of Marr in Freeport. She was sailing home after visiting Sister Island when her ship was wrecked by a storm, stranding her.

When you are in the Temple of Marr, talk to Serna Tasknon; she will ask you to let all Sentries take a nip from a potion she gives you. Sentry Xyrin is the last one.

If you protect her, she will drop a nice magical weapon after all the fighting is done.

Anyway, we had been on island about an hour when he popped.. He hits just a hair harder than the Seafury's, but has about twice as many hit points.. He was cake for a 43 Warr, 49 Monk, and 57 Cleric..

If you are in this level range, I have two words for you....'SI'-'RENS'
The exp hunting sirens just can't be beat at this level. They can be soloed easily. My 11 Wizard can solo them :P They don't aggro, you can dance a jig right in front of them and...nothing. They don't assist, I pulled one right past another and got no reaction from the other. And, there is NO faction hit...just awesome exp. My Wizzy has killed dozens and they still con 'indifferent'. Just take the boat from FP, and jump off when the boat passes between two rocky outcrops. Be sure to go to the rock on the right side of the boat. There are two siren spawns here. They spawn just as I'm getting my mana back from the last fight. There is also one siren spawn on the other rock, just watch out the goblins, they can be a pain. There is also a scattering of rocks the boat passes when coming from Butcherblock with two siren spawns on it, but, again, watch for the goblins. And don't go to the island north of that one. You'll see two sirens on it, but you might not see Nerbilik, and his two DE Dragoon guards.

Good Luck

RE: Leveling
# Sep 04 2001 at 6:06 PM Rating: Decent
Gnolls and Orcs in Highpass Hold. As a meelee type, you can bind here, and since I'm sure you're realizing the limitations of soloing as a warrior, you'll appreciate the eternally full groups at these spawns. Just show up at the spawn and ask the leader of the group if you can be on the wait list for the next available spot. You might even get a Polished Granite Tomohawk from the gnolls, which is a great 2nd hand weapon with a good proc for a low warrior. Plus its close to home for when you need to train (your skills, not the zone).

Best Wishes!! Haflings make excellent warriors, since due to our high AGI and DEX, we don't get hit as often or as hard as the oversized races. Remember, the warrior's job is to absorb damage, and the more you dodge, the better job you're doing. =)
