uber eyes???

I was farming optic nerves in Xorbbs room when I ran across an uber eye! I was lvl 45 at the time so 1 conflag to drop an eye and a shock of lightning for the pet. I had a pet that killed me! I went back for revenge and he almost got me again. The weird thing was that it wasn't an enchanter animated pet, it was a mage earth pet. The pet took 2600 damage to drop and gave me exp! Has any one else ever experienced this? A group of appropriate level would get creamed by this pet. I never bothered to con the pet since the EEs where all green. Wow.

I was running around today killing eyes, when i hit tracking and scrolled down to a blue name, Jibann.I followed my tracking to come upon the thing which looked like a Necro pet skeleton. It regarded me as indifferently so i hailed it and nothing.Being bored i decided to attack it because the thing was blue after all.It dropped quickly and no exp or loot.Anyone else ever come across this named Skelly or know what its about?

This was a necros pet. When someone with a pet goes linkdead, their pet becomes an NPC. Meaning, the master had gone linkdead and so the pet became an NPC.

More likely the necro pet was charmed by an evil eye. This happened to me once. Was killed by my own pet and when I got back for the CR my pet was still there. I logged off completely, got back on and it was still there. Just another mob now.

The Gorge of King Xorbb, Goblin Alchemist, drops the Humerus Handled Mace.
1HB, 5/29, Magic, +2 vs Cold, Wt 1.2, NO DROP. Classes: Ra Sm D C P Sk B Mk Ro Wr. All Races.
Now you may say, well that's a great weapon for a newbie/mid-range player. Did you know that there are over 170 one-hand blunt weapons currently listed by Alllahkazam's that either have lower delay, less weight, and/or more damage than this weapon?

There are literally over a dozen weapons for every class that could use the mace that are better than it is, and off far more common mobs.

If you are not a monk; please, please do not loot this mace unless it is a sure decay. I'd even ask that you not aggro or attack him, but that would be a bit much even for me.

On the flip side though, any class that loots this item, when there is a monk without Treant Fists in the zone, is, in my not-so-inexperienced opinion, nothing more than a greedy, selfish thief.

Noted. It seems that this particular weapon would be a prime for Monks. I do not have a monk, but realize their weight restrictions, and IMHO this weap fits their class the best, hands down. My cleric wouldn't gain a thing by looting this, as his EBM is 8/28, yet weighs quite a bit more, and he rarely finds himself in direct melee, and he hasn't the weight concerns of a monk. Thank you for the heads up Zinj!

When I find myself standing next to a alchemist with this on him, I'll be sure to give shout.

Another note - this to everyone, but Monks especially - every sigh over the 3 stone weight of a backpack? Well, find a smithy (not too high of level even) and ask him to whip up a Toolbox! Usually used by only gnomes in tinkering craft, they weigh only 0.4 stones, but have 8 slots and hold anything a backpack can. Excellent alternative container - just never hit the combine button!! Toolboxes sell to vendors for nuthing, like 7 silver, and cost very little to make, so are cheaper than the 6g5s average for bp's. (Recipe = 1 metal bit, 1 flask of water)

Also, my fellow EQ'ers, there is an item that drops off a gnoll embalmer at the spawn just before SK in lake rathe - Skull of J'Hen Tra (sp?) - +20 mana with a save methinks - LORE item. If ya happen to see one, give a likewise shout to any caster that might be able to use it - as it's resale value is paltry compared to it's usefulness to a teen level caster.

My 2cp!

Reeshl Healmen, Cleric of the 25th Heal
Saldayil, Shadow Knight of the 15th Pain
Vanelan, Necromancer of the 11th Bone
Valelven, Rogue of the 11th Piercing
Tullail, Druid of the 9th Ring

If you don't already know Toolboxes have been Nerfed. They now weight and hold the same as backpacks. On the plus side you can no longer hit combine by accident. If you do you get an invalid recipie error.
RE: Monks and Toolboxes
# Jun 26 2001 at 4:27 PM Rating: Default
True, they've been nerfed. Now, they're effectively a backpack that can hold Giant-sized items (Backpack can only hold Large). It's *still* better than a backpack, as their weight is the same as the backpack.

So: Same weight, same # slots -- but hold larger items (mammoth tusks, for example).

whrere is the goblin veteran?

there is no mention of the goblin veteran here...
RE: whrere is the goblin veteran?
# Aug 10 2001 at 11:49 PM Rating: Default
Goblin Veterans spawn frequently in the bottom level of Runnyeye. I've killed a lot of them and never seen any special loot, so if there's anything special it's got to be pretty rare.
Named Mudman

Yes , its true , there is a named Muddite here too.
In countless hours of camping greens and stuff here I saw him once , with my Ranger (then 50) . Beat it up easily , as you would expect , dropped....NADA. I was a bit gutted.

Shame I cant remember the name and I no longer have the screenshot.Pity.

His name is Qlei, and he was blue to my 25th druid. I wasn't in a position to kill him, so I don't know about any loot.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 25 2001 at 4:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) My Druid friend an I killed him when I was a 16th Ranger. Friend was about lvl 27. He dropped nothing and went down very quickly.Go figure.
PBB Drops
# Nov 06 2000 at 1:15 PM Rating: Default
I have been Camping here quite a bit since I can solo for the most part, get exp & good loot. In 3 days I have looted 13 PBBs off of both the lords & just common eyes. Unfortunately My huntig comes to an end when Sopyter shows up. I spoke to a lvl 52 last night (she bought a PBB from me for a guild mate) Who told me that she had camped there for around 6 hours and no drop. I would assume that the level has something to do with the drop
RE: PBB Drops
# Dec 09 2000 at 8:13 PM Rating: Decent
I always thought loot was determined before the creature spawned, or as the creature spawned
RE: PBB Drops

They nerfed the drop recently for the optic nerves and the bracers.

"which spawn only if there is a Lord on either side, so you can keep killing the lords all day and never have anything spawn in the center. "

Absolutely NOT TRUE. The first time I ever saw him spawn, both sides were clear. He smoked me real fast too.

"Also, I am sure that they changed the drop rate of the PBB as I have personally killed over 80 eyes (about 35 of them lords) and have yet to loot one PBB"

Last time I camped them, I got 4 in 2 hours :)
PBB

I don't know what the hell happened. One day, I killed four eyes and got three PBB's and a PBH. They drop plat. Can't complain with that.

I noticed this with all mobs from orc pawns to willowisps on up - if you kill one mob and get great loot, kill all the ones that spawned at around the same time and place, odds are very good they have the same loot, much, much higher than true randomness would allow.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 23 2000 at 9:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Just to let everyone know, last night i got 2 not 1 but TWO PBBs in less than 1 hour, also i got a Polished bone hoop, i was gonna continue camping the spawn but i barfed =( so i just went to sleep, thsi morning RIGHT before the patch i looted another PBB ;), this is my kinda camp
Evil Eye Autokill

Occasionally I have seen evil eyes die immediatley after you start to attack them, however everyone in their immediate vicinity is diseased, a disease strong and long lasting enough to kill most anyone unless cured.

The Dwarf in Beholder

I was hunting Evil Eyes and as always, I turned on my track, on come this NPC Diggs Duggin, I've logged a lot of hours in the gorge and I've never seen this guy, so i tracked him, turns out he's a drunk dwarf, he starts you out on a quest, anyone else ever seen this fella? And I have also seen the named Muddite named Qley.

Diggs seems to stay on the northen part of the zone, right in the middle. He cons red to me and I am 29.

Named Muddite
# Jun 29 2000 at 1:13 PM Rating: Decent
Nobody seems to believe me but long ago on the Rodcet Nife server I was hunting Muddite Elders with my 25 Druid to improve blacksmithing and I ran across a named Muddite named Qley! He dropped an electrum bar and the usual clay and ore. Has anyone else seen him? I've looked around a lot of sites but noone has him listed a a spawn. Could it be that his spawn was removed? I ran into him last summer.
RE: Named Muddite
# Aug 30 2000 at 2:15 PM Rating: Decent
Nope, I saw him last night. His name was either Qlie or Qlei, I forget which. As a lvl 20 monk I could hardly hit him, and he was pounding me for 48pts a hit. Don't know what level that makes him, but I will be avoiding him until I get a little higher.

RE: Named Muddite
# Dec 05 2000 at 5:32 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah, his name was Qlei... a play on the word "Clay" I would think. He con'd high blue and killed my naked SK on a CR at 20th level. I went back and HT'd & killed him in bloodthirsty revenge with two other guys. I think he con'd even to a level 19 that helped me kill him.

All he dropped was one of each of the different sizes of clay and ore.
RE: Named Muddite
# Dec 18 2000 at 9:15 AM Rating: Good
Yup, ran into Qlei on the Lanys Server last night. He spawned at the intersection to the East karanas zone. Killed him with my 20th Warrior - all for some blocks of Ore?!...remind me to leave the kids to play with the mud!...
Slime crystal staff
# Jun 29 2000 at 7:11 AM Rating: Decent
Hi..to recorrect everyone. Yes King Xxorb wanders around the zone. You can have people camping the Lords and he will still wander around. I was playing my level 23 enchanter when he was wandering so i brought my mage and killed him and dropped the Slime Crystal Staff..From then, I went to collect the Ice, Fire and Water Crystal Staffs hehe.
Named eye
# Jun 19 2000 at 12:51 PM Rating: Decent
Ok kasath, it's King xxorb, not borxx. I have personally seen borxx wandering around runnyeye near the Gorge zone. I've heard that the king dropps lens of king xxorb (or somthing like that) for a paineel quest.
Brahhm
# Jun 15 2000 at 8:55 PM Rating: Default
Anyone know the spawn rate and/or spot? If you do, please post. Thanx.
Borxx
# Jun 03 2000 at 4:14 PM Rating: Decent
Borxx does not spawn in the maze,he is in Runny Eye and drops the lens for the staff of the observers. Lord Soptyver is the spawn in the middel. I have been in the maze many hours, never once saw named muddite, Yimp the infernal, the gob alchemist; only muddite minors, elders, gorge minos, chasm minos, ee's and the two lower Lord's.
..uh yeah that guy..

Lord soptyyr
# May 15 2000 at 7:51 PM Rating: Decent
He randomly spawns on the throne, he is nasty, and he has killed me about three times, there is a mass exodus when he spawns and we all run and scream to karana and shout for someone to "kill it please!" he is needed for the observer staff and a paineel quest, and yymp the infernal does not spawn often, and the polished bone bracers are about a 10% drop, but you aree happy when they do. I have been in the gorge of king xorrb for a long time now.
Eyes & Named Spawns
# May 09 2000 at 7:21 PM Rating: Decent
I thought Borxx spawned only in Runnyeye, and not on the throne. I have seen Soptyvr spawn on the throne several times. Around level 30.

ANY info on Brahm would be appreciated. I have looked for him many times with no success.

I also have seen Qlai (once). Dropped some clay and a bar of electrum for me.

As for PBBs it seems to vary. I usually stop in when I am running through and kill the eyes if nobody is hunting them. Occasionally I get a PBB that way though I guess I am too impatient to sit there very long.
