| North Karana is the "nexus" of the Karana Plains. Despite the dangers of the roaming lions, wolves, bears, griffons, and occasional hill giant, this place is quite the player-friendly area: Here, you'll find a few guard watch towers for aid, a gypsy camp with vendors, and a druid ring and wizard spires for porting.
Speaking of guard watch towers, North Karana is home to what may be the most active guards in all of Norrath. The tower in the center of the zone is in the path of many a wandering animal and keeps its guards fighting off trouble on a steady basis. They win most of their battles, but occasionally lose, particularly when the opponent is an upper level hill giant, griffon, or GrimFeather. |

Information on these NPC's will be more readlily known after the next 02/16/2000 patch to fix the cleric quests.

Grimtooth - named werewolf in the low 20's, drops the Werewolf Hide Tunic (AC 10, 3 str 3 agil druid and bard only)
Ashenpaw - named wolf, drops Wolfhide Sleeves (AC 5, 2 str 2 cha)
Swiftclaw - named lion, drops Lion-skin Leggings (AC 6, 2 int, 2 agil)

No reference to Zahal the Vile or Regis the Relevant. Information desperatly needed.

Several NPCs more
Xaannussus (Sp?) named treant near the northern most part of the near the totem. He KoSes evil races and characters. I saw him drop a level 29 DE SK with one spell once so you are warned that he is very high level.
Cordillia Minister - Druid lvl 20ish.
Callowing - Named griffawn that drops Griffon Claw Gauntlets ALL/ALL.
Timbur the Tiny - Named HG Drops Giants Reminder String
Grimfang - named wolf or werewolf, not sure.
Despite spending nearly every minute of lvls 14-26 in this zone I have never seen Callowing, Timbur or Grimfang

What can I do with a Griffenne Downfeather? I have heard that it can be used for a number of quests but not too sure...

Grimfeather, named griffin, drops quest items, and another one that drops a griffin claw and a ring, forgot the name

Regis seems to spawn around /loc 1311, -2751. From what I saw, he liked to stand still. He is a rare spawn. He s 27th level it seems. He carried 2 items. One was Ingot of the reverent. The other was Lianna's flute. He looks like your typical militiant zombie, and is not too tough for his level. Clerics, you shall seek him out, since he is needed for your cleric only bracer.

I need info on a wondering npc here in north karana. He has a locket i need for part of my Paladin quest. His name is something like Sentry Alechin.

killed Grizzleknot named bear, ashenpaw named wolf and callowwing the named griffawn, and helped killing zahal the vile and oh also killed grimfang or was it tooth the werewolf ashenpaw dropped the sleeves grizzleknot the sup bbear hide callowwing the ring

I just killed Korvik the cursed today. He didn't drop a medallion, but a thing called an Iron Shackle. It looks like a chain mail bracer but has negative stats, so I think its for a quest, but not sure which. He was green to me at 30 btw.

I killed Ashenpaw and rather than receiving the sleeves i got a superb wolf hide. What is it for??

I'm told to look in N Karana for someone with a name like "Korvick the Cursed," supposedly a rare spawn around level 20 who drops a +9 CHA medallion. Possibly he's undead. Anyone know more about him? Where to look? What level you have to be to kill him? How often he spawns?

It was raining in north Karana (big surprise) when out of the rain this terrible tree came alive and attacked me!
Two hits and I was dead, my lvl 16 troll swatted like a fly. This tree is a killer!
His agro ranger is greater than the /corpse range and I got chassed off trying to get my body (one spell took of 3/4 of my health).
Evil should be afraid, very afraid of this tree.
