Got released with Lost Dungeons of Norrath but moved to Gates of Discord on progression servers.

The Wayfarers are well-established here in Nedaria's Landing, providing a connection between the continents of Antonica and Taelosia. Their camps can be found along the shores and docks in the northwest.

The area is otherwise fairly quiet, save for the plentiful local wildlife (panthers, griffons, bears, anacondas, and wolves), which inhabit the largely undisturbed forest. Just be mindful while walking along the cliffside as it's a large drop to the ground below.

While I swear I remember this zone being available during LDON back in the day, on Mangler it has not unlocked as of yet and we are now in LDON, so it maybe best to reclassify it as a Gates zone.

Getting Mobs to Be Higher Level
# Nov 22 2006 at 7:17 AM Rating: Decent
From what I've heard, The Forgotten Halls is gotten through accepting the expedition? A friend told me that having the lowest level player in group get the expedition makes the Mobs inside higer. Not sure how true that is though.

Alright last night I was trying to get this mission for the Forgotten Halls so I could lvl my chanter up a little. I started by trying to get the mission with 3 lvl 70s in the group. Then I was gonna add the 47 chanter. Well when I went to check the zone everything was green to my 70 druid. I went up to the rats and started attacking one and the rat hit me for no more than 15. I just wanted a place I could lvl the chanter and not worry about pvp. The rats not helping each other is awsome and the respawn time is nice. So please if anyone has any info on how to make this harder please tell.

In Jaggedpines Forest, go south along the zone from the SFG crystal.. there is a gnoll cave. Behind the large water pool there is a waterfall, and behind that is the Zone into Nedaria's Landing.

What a shame that so few people use this beautiful zone. My husband and I levelled our rangers there and got great exp., plus lots of tracking. Because we worship Karana (I think) all mobs except the griffawns are non aggro. The wolves however will join in to help out a brother. It's funny to see a huge bear come up and appear to watch you fight a mob. There is plenty to kill at a variety of levels, Best of all the zone is praceful and quite lovely.

If you are referencing the Forgotten Halls instanced zone, no, it has not been deleted. It is still there, visited last night for an hour of stress relief!

Look for the High Elf by the name of Eklros Danmor at the far end of the docks and talk to him... he will tell you how to get into the instanced zone.
New Graphic Engine

Hey all, I just looked in my email, and saw the first EverQuest Newsletter in a loooong time. Anyways, in it was this,
Quote:
New Graphics Engine

You may have been noticing your EverQuest experience getting prettier than ever before. That's the new graphics engine, filling new and old parts of Norrath with brand-new graphic effects and character models. Plus, there's a brand-new new graphics engine zone to explore. Ah, but how do you find this zone, you ask? Talk to an NPC in Nedaria's Landing...

I was wondering if anyone knew who or where the npc was in Nedaria that could take you to the "New graphic zone".

Thanks

i think it is ... new graphic zone only.

Expedition needed. I builded up a 65 group to test rats and bats, since it sounds like the only thing you can hit without agroing the whole zone or decreasing your taelosian faction... well we tried p .

Rats hit for 320 max bats hit for 375 max around.
they are indif and wont be social .
Respawn time is like 10 15 min ( quite fast reswpan )

Some native there are complaining about those rats and bats. So we emptied quickly the spots to see but nothing happens. No rewards etc. we were not able to trigger a quest ( if you can tell me hehe )

Hailing geomancers, controllers, pilgrims , gives nothing, even with the staff with faction modifier.

We tried to give differents pieces of the rats and bats but they did not needed.

Maybe you just need to kill the rats untill a named pop like in Vxed if i am correct.. i know first time i checked alone the zone there were ie a lvl 65 rat, all others were lesser lvl.

I am quite surprised mobs conned blue to you cyberghost, since my rng lvl 53 saw only red mobs.

--------------
All in all, this is.... really a zone to see new graphics changes... and take holy pics from guildies by geo room.

? question are the rats and nats easy or hard and do they agro?
and edit everything in the zone is blue to me at lvl 40 the info on the zone shows 55 to 65?
this must be a instance zone since they have been blue to everyone that has entered and the lvls have been veried that i have talked to

New NPC gives out expiditions to the Forgotten Halls
# Jun 12 2004 at 3:30 AM Rating: Decent
It's late and I can't get a group so I decide to start a GoD quest. On the dock leading to the boat, there is a new high elf NPC who gave me an expidition to a new zone, located in the bear cave.

anyone seen this or is it too late and I'm dreaming?

Three of us went in and killed both rooms, but could not figure out how to get a reward from either groundskeeper. We finally figured it was an easy XP area. I would love to know if there is a deeper quest here.

You're not dreaming lol
There is a new expedition zone but I don't think anyone's quite figured it out yet. Two of the groundskeeper npc's when hailed ask you to kill all the mobs in the room (one wants you to kill a room full of rats, the other one wants you to kill bats). The respawn rate seems to be rather high and so far no one I know has been able to kill them all in time.

The only purpose of this zone is to see the new graphics engine. When i first zoned in it was extremely laggy, to the point of no movement. To fix this i went to options and chose a lowerscreen resolution, when it says "do you want to keep this size" say no and somehow it fixes the lag.
Anyways, 44 necro 45 cleric and 40 war cleared rats, nothing happens, cleared bats nothing happened, found room with rats, bats and stone guys, killed alot and nothing happened. Experience is pretty good and the plat is nice. Took necro (46 now) back and fear kited the rats, good exp, some resisted fear and dooming darkness on first cast, hit hard lost a few pets.
Good place if you can solo. BUT these mobs become social at a certian level. Took 65 druid in here thinking it would be good AA, WRONG. Attempted to charm rat, resisted, the entire room came at me and hit for 300ish. Mobs are blue when soloing, it is like ldon in the fact that the level of mob is tailored to PC/group average level.
If you are high level, i would not even bother with this place.

Hi,

My alt ranger, Foraging, by name has spent quite some time soloing in this zone. His primary purpose is to forage for plant shoots in this zone to be used by my main in baking cheesy casseroles. Plant shoots seem to get a reasonable price in the bazaare however I haven't persued that at the moment.

My ranger has been in and out of this zone from about lvl 27 and is now 31.

Suggestions:

1. It is a quiet zone so there is little competition. Plus if you are the right level it is easy to switch to other mobs any way.

2. A previous poster said that the money quests are fine if you are of the right level. That is its bonus xp with some money thrown in. Since you wouldn't have got the xp any way this is fine by me.

3. You need inventory space if you intend to collect for money quests as only the frog skins stack.

4. Hides can be slow to drop

5. The best creature to hunt seems to be the basilisk. This is because they are low on agro, they are a land creature, they drop hides for quests and there seem to be plenty of them. Be careful not to stray near the griffawns if you are below 30 and even at 30 watch it as they seem to agro whether you hunt them or not.

6. Hunting turtles and frogs can be an excellent way of getting your swiming skill up and to practice under water fighting. I confess I drowned once ... very silly death in my book.

7. Panic animal works in this zone for rangers although you only want to do it to creatures that don't gather friends...the wolves are the worst and as said before the basilisks are best.

8. Now that the adventure camp is active in the zone you can probably mooch a heal or buff off the higher levels that are there. I try not to bother them however...I did get a rez for the drowning though...

7. If you take on the silverfur wolves or bears you will get good drops on their pelts ie MQ, HQ etc.

8. For those with LDON its an easy zone to get into and out of using the adventure camps.

9. Finally one tip for the solo hunter with LDON. Put a /say social up eg "butherblock" that way if you must do a runner run to the adventure camp and the magus and press the social... you zone out and viola you are amongst friends who can help AND you don't have to "panic type" to zone as six griffins are on your tail. Remember to consider others before you perform such a train however ;-)

I think this is a good zone for Rangers and those working on their baking, tailoring and of corse foraging!

Respawn?
# Feb 08 2004 at 8:47 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know the respawn rate on mobs other than the Cave Grizzlies? I killed every Majestic Grizzly and Serene Griffawn in the zone over 2 hours ago and none of them have repopped yet. Im a 55 ranger with baking and tailoring skills farming HQ bear and griffon meat. My tracking is void of these 2 mobs since wiping out the zone. Cave Grizzlies are a 7 minute spawn. I /bug reported it, not sure if it is a bug, but its defintely a bummer, heh. If anyone knows whats up please tell. :)

First admission, it's laggy, but I found the same problem in DSP or Kunark. Turning down my Clip Plane and then keeping one's nose pointed to the ground or just reduce your peripheral vision and hunt the Turtles and Cove Frogs instead.

Much like Stoneburnt, haven't seen a ruined pelt drop yet off the Bears or Wolves - tailors come farm this place and bakers for the Anaconda's.

I find sitting at the end of the Boardwalk has been a nice spot for my 25 somethings or even camping the backside with some help for panthers and griffawns has it's own benefits.

I have yet to use the Wayfarer Scout Porter to check out the other zone offerings.
Wayfaring Scout says 'Greetings Taven! Would you like to travel to [Nedaria]'s Landing, the Broken Shores of [Natimbi], or perhaps the [Abysmal] Sea?'

Several posters have said these quests are a massive waste of time. They are actually icing on the cake!
If you are of appropriate level to gain experience from hunting here, then collecting the drops for turn in is merely an added bonus. As of right now this zone is basically empty. After the next EQ add on I imagine it will become horribly crowded,so hunt here while the hunting's good! My 27 Mage / 32 Bard are having quite a bit of success in their hunting.

Scaryb is right.

I have read too many complaints about these quests. People really need to do a bit of a reality check of their expectations.

If you're getting experience in this zone, the quests are simply a way to get you to explore the whole zone. Mob types tend to concentrate certain areas. They pay you a little cash for doing so.

If you come to this zone only to do the quests, you'll be horribly dissapointed. It's just gathering supplies for the shipbuilders. You get a small cash reward.

I was kiting here lastnight with my 24 druid and I noticed that you can climb the wall behind the waterfall. I was OOM and almost dead so I went running for cliff. I ran behind the waterfall and right up the wall top of the cliff. I rested up and later gated out. I sat there for three or four minutes and the MOB did not make it up the hill to get me. Don't know how long you can hangout before or if the mob ever makes it up the hill, but its a nice place to rest.

Ieandra Pael says 'This is perfect and couldn't have come at a better time, I'm very close to finishing up a new magic that may protect the ship. Ah, yes. Okay so they have two quests added to two NPC's (three if you count that one of them accepts two different pelts), however the drop rate is atrocious on them, killed upwards of 150+ wolves, basilisks and griffawns and only got 1 beak, 1 wolf hide and 4 basilisk hides. For turning in the basilisk hides I got a hearty thank you and around 1 plat.

Friend turned in 4 beaks after killing 200+ of the griffawns and got a hearty thank you and 6 plat.

Neither of them gave faction adjustments and were a massive waste of time.

Found a post on EQLive Newbie zone forum. The Nedaria Landing zone in is now behind the waterfall in the Brell gnoll cave.

I zoned in and besides the wayfarer camp, there are now other NPCs, all red to 51. Some give quests that I haven't had the time to test yet. There are several structures, a forge building (no player forge), a sawmill and two very long docks.

All beasties are green to 51. Griffins like you better with wolfie form, cove frogs don't like wolf form. The succor point is at zin.

Simple zone map and map file for use in game.

If there is a cave on the north wall, I must have missed it on my map. I'll go back sometime and take another look.

As was mentioned elsewhere but bears repeating: since the introduction of this zone, the clickable gem from Jaggedpine to SFG no longer works. If you are in JP and try to click through to SFG, you will get dumped back in Nedaria's instead. You can still zone the other direction, from SFG to JP. The gem between JP and Blackburrow still works correctly in both directions.

This gives you a safe-ish way to cross JP if you are afraid of the animals: zone from SFG to JP then click the stone again and pop straight into Nedaria's.
