It is rumored that there is a hidden lagoon in the Crypt of Nadox where the leader of the clan keeps his ship. Of course they also say that the ship is filled with ill-gotten booty that the various troll pirate captains have gathered up over the ages.

The name of this legendary ship is well known by those that sail the seas, and can be heard on the lips of members of the Broken Skull Marauders. Most sailors understand that such a ship is probably merely a rumor, invented over a foamy mug of ale in a dockside tavern.

Filthy Pirate

Spawns Adds every 25% I believe (Not sure how many or exact % he spawns them)

Summons

Slowable (Forgot if he mitigated)

Light Blue to a 75 BST

Part of the Frostell Grieving Parents event, lvl 55 Avg to grab task. I found him in the same room as Rolo The Black, I do not know if that is his permanent spot or not.

Also, the other 2 things the task has you collect are also found on the ship. The preseants are ground spawns and look like preseants and the trinket I looted 2x off of rats. Not sure if Rats are the only thing that can drop 'em or if its a specific kind of rat as I didn't pay attention to the name above them, only that they where a rat model.

The rat adds spawn along the way from time not %. At 60% he turned into a goblin model Iceheart, Frostclaw Thief which proc'd an 1800 pt dd (not sure if single target or AE, probably single target).

Filthy Pirate and Iceheart were red to 55, green to 82. "a filthy rat" were yellow to 55, grey to 82.

The Filthy Pirate seems to have large agro radius and is leashed to the room ...

Shoqui the Forgotten?

Does Anyone have any fight information on Shoqui the Forgotten?

I've been lookin for him and am not sure the force I need to bring with me to take him out.

I have a 70 warrior, 68 cleric and 65 shaman. Is this enough to take him out with?

Loc would be awsome too.

I believe he's the one that spawns in the same room as a named gnome that respawns on every death - this room is below deck right before a room with a big globe in it - the placeholder for this name is the first mob on your right as you enter the room... I have soloed this guy with my beastlord and I have also soloed a few other mobs while I was fighting him so you should be fine - the mobs in this zone isnt that hard I solo them

I am part of the duo AlrecRZ refers to having spent an insane amount of time camping pieces to spawn the zone Captain event. Enchanter and shaman duo camped pieces for well over 100 hours, focusing on placeholders for the nameds which drop the quest pieces.

The Drunken Buccaneer, as stated, drops the necessary quest booze. However, his common is stackable vodka which is not the turnin piece for this quest. He seems to spawn roughly every third clearing of his room and has no placeholder. He dropped "Krasnok's Private Reserves" after dropping 19 of the dud vodka's. That means roughly 60 clearings of that room camping that piece - ouch!

The spyglass and compass were considerably easier, but still incredibly time-consuming camps despite our concentration on killing placeholders throughout the zone. If you get a named with the potential of dropping either of these pieces you seem to have about a 1 in 15 chance of the quest piece dropping, and we collected duplicates of each while camping the more elusive pieces for the quest.

During our camp we saw all but 3 of the zone's gear loots drop: the ranger weapon, the plate class haste charm slot, and the cloak from the named luggald. (We did, however, see a half-dozen of the zraxthril splintered cloaks drop). The rarest drops were the Trident of Hatred and Ebony Mail of Hatred, as we only saw one each of those. Everything else dropped several times, to the point that we dearly wished we could see a quest piece instead, although all sells well on trader.

The enchanter turned in the quest pieces with the raid force of roughly 30 (mostly level 65's) gathered in the center of the raid room with a tank in each corner to tank mezz the Captain's helpers. Since everything we read here refers to "Captain Jrank", we were expecting him to spawn with 4-6 troll "Fists of Jrank". But Captain Krasnok immediately spawned instead, with 4 luggald "Fists of Krasnok". The enchanter was on rampage right away from the turn in. The room had four area effects: Hate's Fury, Languish of the Sea, Bleeding Ether and Drowning Panic. Nasty stuff. The Fists were partly slowable, but we were not able to slow the Captain. (No immunity message, just resists, so possibly a belly slowable mob.)

His death animation was truly fantastic. Something like the tentacled creature under the bridge in Torgarin which turned into just the weapon he wielded planted into the ground. He dropped Vander's Bane as expected as well as a Serrated Flamberge of Hatred with the stats AlrecRZ posted, though its proc also has a 15% slow as well as the 200 DD. The gloves were also a nice bonus from the Fist of Krasnok.

All in all this was an incredibly fun raid event. But evaluating the insane amount of time needed to spawn him against the loot rewards, as most people do, I think some people might be disappointed. If you have the patience, you may want to collect multiple pieces to chain spawn this event since Attendent Mi'Ta respawns right after the captain dies.

Elder Gulu <Seekers of Divinity> Rallos Zek

NOTE:
It seems as though there are at least two versions of the Captain on this boat, and that the one you spawn is related to the booze you turn in for the event. /shrug

New Capt!
# Nov 23 2003 at 3:46 PM Rating: Decent
Was with guild and some friends that spent insane time collecting the items needed to spawn the captain and a new captain spawned

Captain Krasnok

He hit me for a max of 632 as i was bard on rampage(yes he rampages)

There were 3 AEs some drained mana and some did melee slow and the other just damage

The mob was immune to almost all magic except lifeburn and manaburn.

If it wasnt for our clerics with MGB Celestial regeneration we woulda lost the fight with 30ish people due to mana constraints. Some of the Aes were resistable I was singing Elemental Chorus but not often they still usualy landed.

He dropped 2 items in the end, the same item that Jrank drops and a 41/36 100hp/mana tank 2hander with 200dd proc on it.

Also one of the fists of Krasnok dropped

Today, when my group enteres the Captains Room, we found only 1 mob, a gnome looking like all the gnomes at the lighthouse, etc. I did not write down the name, but he conned red to a level 62 shaman, and he had a name with an apostrophe in it (The post that said Mi'Ta sounds like the right one). He conned Indifferent to all of us.

The Captains Room has lightly glowing green "force field" zones, preventing direct access to many places against the walls.

After hailing him, he accused us of stealing things from the ship. We trieed talking to him and eventually got him to " 'fess up" about the fact that HE has stolen something of the captains and lost it. he then said if we could bring 4 'trinkets' to him, he would appreciate it.

The 4 trinkets are: (Names are approximate) Ancient Compass, Spyglass, Map of the Oceans, and "The Captains Favorite (Brew??)".

After I had said "I will help you", he gave these instructions, and a RED Letter message said that when I come back, I better be prepared for combat.

We left. We only had the Compass, an object that has usable Class and Race as : None, None. We had looted it earlier off a named mob in the Pump Room (A Luggald-type).

I suppose that the turn in would spawn the room, maybe (REPEAT - MAYBE) drop the glowing green fields and spawn many mobs, as well as the Captain. The ONE chair I saw within the green fields (same wall as the zone in door is) suggests to ME that is the Captains Chair, but it is awfully small for a troll, but slightly big for a gnome.......

Nothing more to mention, but I hope helps others to plan to obtain those 4 items before making their way to the Captains Room.

My group was:

62 Shaman
62 Echanter
58 warrior
55 warrior
55(about) Cleric
51 Paladin (me)

SUGGESTIONS for this Zone:

Movement through this zone can be made easier by use of Invis, and Pacify. There is a mix of Live Mobs (Trolls, Luggald-types, Rats) and Undead. So Invis works only so much and the undead are spaced out fairly well. Pacifying mobs can also allow movement right past even undead and Live mobs. Dont bother with Invis vs Undead. Those other 2 spells will do it for you. But it can assist.

Mobs in corridors connecting "rooms" tend to congregate singly in corners. Roamers are common, but seem to be singles. The Spawn time for most mobs seems to be about a 25-30 min timer. Some mobs have shorter times, but they sem to be in the 'rooms'

My group has mostly moved from Nadox zonein through 'graveyard' and upper decks. We go down a ladder (B on the main deck Map on EQ Atlas) and move between Treasure room and pump room.

Most drops are daggers and swords, some gems (Blue Diamond, Diamonds, Fire Emeralds were seen, and considered by me to be uncommon drops). Named mobs seem to be the ones dropping the 'nicer' stuff.

Good Zone for level 50's, with a balanced group. You NEED your melees, but a solid cleric, shammy and Ench make it go really smooth. Substitute a nuker for a Melee with the Sham, Ench and Cler and you still have a good group.

Most mobs were Red to me (51 Pally, with several Yellows, only a very few whites. I think I saw 2 dk Blue.

All the above I hope helps out.
