| Part of the frigid plains of northern Antonica, the Everfrost Peaks are the barbarians' gateway into Norrath. Everfrost is divided into two areas:
In the west are the snow gorges, located outside the entrances to Halas in the North and BlackBurrow in the South, and home to many wandering low level goblins, polar bears, and wolves. East of the gorges are the plains. Mammoths, leopards, orcs, undead, and spiders wander this area; creature levels increasing the further east you go. At the eastern edge of the plains is the stronghold of Permafrost, guarded by Lady Vox's ice giants. A frozen river provides cover over a hidden entrance to an underground cave system. Should you choose to venture here, watch for the aggressive lich Miragul, the host of icebone skeletons, and massive glacier bears which occupy the caves. Frequented by blinding snowsqualls and traversed by aggressive goblins, orcs, undead, and wildlife, Everfrost provides one of the more challenging experiences for new adventurers. |

I remember being obsessed with hunting down this mob back in the day. Used to be listed as dropping Sword of the Berserker. I wonder if there was ever any truth and he just stopped spawning, broken somehow. Or if it was just a fake NPC with fake loot submitted to the db

Sorry about the triple post. paniced when screen went all white and refreshed several times, lol.
Was sitting by book, shooting everything in sight with my pimp bow and 20stacks of arrows, when lo and behold a Vengeful Solist ambles by. green to a 54, but it is higher then the other mobs, as it took 3 shots, not 1, but 3 to kill it.
Once again, new mob, Vengeful Solist. dropped 2 bone chips, a rusty shoort sword, and a Delius Thyme's Diary pg.76, Lore, Rent, and No-drop. I belive he is 8 or 9

my and 3 other shammys were headed to mammoth ramp(most familiar with babrbarians) to hunt.... on the way....we're all level 10 by the way.... Martar attacked us.... we hadn't even bothered him. He killed the other two and i surivived with a half a bubble of health.... why does he agro so easily? (He conned red)

I forget the lore, but I do believe, seriously, its because he is insane. If memory serves his brother does not KOS everyone.

Running through EF today, saw this guy running from Halas area out toward main area. Tough to keep up with, hard to keep pace with run 3. Hailed him, no response and didnt stop running, any ideas what he's for?

Okay just chased this guy from Halas to Permafrost. Doesnt respond to any phrases or anything....

Don't know what he's for but he's standing just a little away from the LDoN camp.
Cons even to a 65 and looks like he's holding the Staff of the Four (wizard epic) but no amount of making up phrases is getting him to talk much. Tried giving him my epic but he gave it back.

what does PC mean?
Typically, one of:
* Player Character
* Personal Computer
* Politically Correct
* Paludal Caverns
It depends on context. If someone is inviting you to hunt in PC, that's Paludal. If someone is calling you a PC, they mean you're a player character. If someone is asking about your PC, they mean your computer. If they're snarking at you for being PC (as opposed to a PC), then it's probably politically correct.

Found a Iskar NPC in a hidden nave in the canyon area of Ever Frost named Zweznyi Xeiw. Anyone know what this NPC is for?
Lich of Miragul's pet spawns right beside The Lich himself. Cons yellow to my 35 ranger.

go to the ig camp entranced and look strait out. turn about 45 degreese to the left and run that way. its at the bottom of a hill i think and its not far from the ig camp. you can see the ruins from a ok distance. if you cant find it go back to ig camp and try again

hi just wanted people to know that my druid is lvl 30 atm and he was in everfrost killing mammoths for xp and the loot sells nice and while doing this was hitting forage and got the chilled tundra root for my druid epic quest...=)
oh and i also have the chunk of tundra that drops from the corrupted mammoths also another part to the druid epic..friends killed the corrupted brownie in lfay and i got that staff he drops for my epic also he lvl 55 tho just thought u would like to know.=)

These spiders average level 22 (give or take a couple of levels) and seem to be indifferent to everyone (tested with gnome wizard (Solusek Ro worshiper) and agnostic gnome magician and gnome necro (Bertoxxulous) and grouped here with several races including barbarians). They drop Barbarian meat which is used to make Illusion Barbarian potions, icor, ice blood, spider silk, spider legs and an occasional word, page or rune. They also drop a lot of the items that you would get off giant wood spiders in Misty Thicket for the halfling druid newbie armor.
They do not drop any cash, and they are not a particularly good source for spider silk ... for that Crag Spiders in EK are still the best mobs I know for that.
Oh - almost forgot to mention - all the ones I have seen are together around neg 1500 neg 3200. There are about 8 of them total and they are all far enough apart that they can be pulled singley except for one pair in back.

i heard this was a good place to farm HQ bear pelts: is this true?and what bears drop them the most?
the pelts almost never drop and when they do they drop most of the regular "a polar bear" and almost never drop off cubs.

I have an Ogre Shammy trying to get faction in Halas but is KoS. I was invis and a friend of mine (in the same group) gave teeth and skins for the faction quests when I was very close.. I got no hit at all.. is this correct. Do I HAVE to kill the Dark Elf to get and +faction with Halas? Any help would be great.

I recently improved my Halas faction with my Troll Warrior in the following manner:
1. Hunt Polar Bears and Polar Bear Cubs in Everfrost and collect the Polar Bear Skins (White skins).
2. Hunt gnolls in Everfrost, Blackburrow, and Qeynos hills and collect Gnoll Fangs (no drop).
3. Go to the bazaar and purchase an "Illusion <goodrace> potion. Human, barbarian, elf, dwarf - doesn't matter, just as long as it is a good race. They sell from 75 - 150 pp, depending on server.
4. Buy a SOW potion, or get a SOW.
5. Run directly between the two guards at the Halas ramp - and head straight to the Halas zone. (It is best to do this when a newbie brings a train in behind them - the guards won't respond as quick - or have a friend train the guards).
6. Once inside the zone, drink the "Illusion" potion. You should now be indifferent to all Halas residents.
7. Turn in all your Polar Bear Skins to Cindl in Mac's Kilts - one at a time.
8. Turn in all of your gnoll fangs to the Warrior Female in the Pit of Doom - 3 at a time.
After approximately 20 skins and 3 stacks of fangs, I am no longer KOS to the guards, and can enter and leave at will. Still working on improving faction so merchants will trade with me though. Also note - when the guards are apprehensive - the banker, BL trainer, and Shammy trainers are all still KOS.

you must have gotten lucky with the illusion potion because even in barb form i was still kos the way i didit wasget all the polar bear skins and wrath orc wristbands icould buy ( yep i bought them instead of hunting them didn' t wanna have to kill any guards ) i have 7 10slot bags ( took 7 of tese trips ) invis past the ramp once inside halas see if you can get a druidtocome help you at this point jusy as soon as you hand in askinor wristband invis goes have the druid recast invis everytime you show only took 7 trips toget dubious faction ( got my potion for the mantle of souls quest ) WOOT!

oh and one more thing even after you get dubious faction stay away from the bank therogue still hate you oddly enough the only way to raise rogue faction is to kill halas merchant which lowers the other factions so needless to say iwill never be banking in there .

You have to be the one to do the turn in. You are probably not KOS to the merchants so have your friend sneak you in and then watch for guards, when the coast is clear do the turn ins and get re-invised before the guards come around again

One day when I went to Halas (being a half-elf ranger, i was born in Qeynos Hills) and I was dubious to EVERYONE in Halas, merchants included, except barbarian rogues. So I am sittin there wonderin what the !@#$ happened. Then I try to find all ways to bring faction with merchants up (great place for smithing supplies) and I could find none. I tried the orc bracer quest thing, didn't work, he wouldn't take them. So i ask everyone to tell me any ways to bring faction up.

Actually, with regard to starting cities as a Half-Elf, race isn't taken into consideration so much as your choice of deity. So, it's Karana = Qeynos Hills, and Tunare = Kelethin. Consider yourself corrected.
Half Elf rangers and druids of Tunare can most certainly start in Qeynos hills... Consider YOURSELF corrected...
actually if u had read the previous post carefully, or the post it refered to at the begining it's not talking about starting cities.. it's faction, diety is a major factor in FACTION.... consider yourself corrected...
don't be so fast to jump on ppl's backs it's all a game anyway...

I took my 25 Druid here and cast wolf form on myself. I was amiable before and with wolf form I was threatening to them. I though ok but a big mistake. I was at the pok book, went east and went past the guards and bam bam down to less than 1 bulb of health. I ran and started to outrun them and a little way away from stopping and gating when I ran in to icebear and tundra jack and then loading please wait.

Gnoll fangs to Female warr trainer 3 at a time.
White polarbear pelts to cindi, Mac's Kilts 4 at a time.
Wrath orc wristbands, also to cindi, macs kilts 4 at a time.
Mammoth calf hides, again, you guessed it, to cindi, mac's kilts, 4 at a time.
the calf hides can also be given to the rogue trainer in the bank, but i think this is race specific, for he took them from my Erudite and my Half Elf as a donation (punk)
same with the orc wristbands, they can be given to one of the BST guys, but also race specific.
Safest way is to give the above mentioned items to Cindi, she seems to love everyone. =P

The unfortunate part of the game is that when it gets crowded, and lots of small groups are going for the wolly mammoth tusks, lots of people complain. Last night I was on with my 26 Cleric fighting with my 25 Shaman mate when we pulled and then another group rooted it. We did mention that we blasted it first and that it was low on health and that they should be more careful in the future. No apology or reply they just said they rooted it first and that it was then theirs. It got worse last night and it got ugly so we decided that it wasn't worth it and we camped for the night. When it gets crowded people need to be extra careful not to get in the way of others. We avoided many obvious openings so as not to be a potential problem but others there last night did not care. Many were very courteous and kind to the rest but a few made it a bad evening last night. Try to be aware of others when its crowded and the spawns are few due to everyone hunting them.

Does anyone know what drops Words of Extinct?
Know for a fact they drop off bandits in PC.

but you WILL NOT find words for a lvl 49 spell ona lvl 16 mob
i know it a as elusive a statment as the words can be but the bottom line is dont bother looking for words on any mob below 16 anddont expect to find words for higherlvl spells on the same mob

sorry this is so late to your post, but it might help others as well...
just the other night i was grouped with my mage friend. we were hunting mammoths for their tusks. anyway, im not compleatly sure but i saw that he did loot these words from something, so i am guessing that it was a mammoth.

Is there a way I can raise faction with the guards of Everfrost?
The guards in Everfrost are on Wolves of the North faction, that of the Barbarian Warrior guild. As long as you're not KOS to them, you can build faction with them by any of several quests involving giving gnoll fangs, ice goblin beads, or polar bear skins to various NPCs in Halas.
If you're KOS to them.....well, there's a way, but it's not easy. Kill the Dark Elf in East Freeport, down by the water. She's only there at night; during the day a Human named Bait Masterson stands in the same spot. This is fairly easy to do, but she only spawns three or four times a night, and you may have to kill her many times to go non-KOS.

on a cold ruggy night where lots of travelers camped safely near caves of halas where only tundra jack without iceberg was out for patrol he saw someone wearing a purple robe he didnt understand most travelers were asleep by now he walked up to him and said "uh hi are you lost" the man did not anwser tundra jack said "sir? can u hear me?"the man turned slowly starting casting a spell by the chant of the spell tundra jack understood it was a necromencer casting disease spells on him he resisted them and started trying to slash the stranger but his agility was like he was a monk master but monks couldnt cast diseases tundra jack swinged at him more more and more! but the stranger dodged it all just then iceberg bashed the stranger which stunned him then tundra jack finished him off but up at megans tower someone was watching a guy that tundra jack didnt see with a spectre pet the spectre said "what now master" the guy said "we wait till that murderer of my apprentince comes to us then he'll be up against a master hahahahahahah" he laughed

LMFAO...i wanna be Tundra Jack...He must be a messed up beastlord...i mean he is a Barbarian that has a bear warder...He wears plate armor..and he uses Slashing weapons...ULITMATE BEASTLORD
