Part of the frigid plains of northern Antonica, the Everfrost Peaks are the barbarians' gateway into Norrath. Everfrost is divided into two areas:

In the west are the snow gorges, located outside the entrances to Halas in the North and BlackBurrow in the South, and home to many wandering low level goblins, polar bears, and wolves.

East of the gorges are the plains. Mammoths, leopards, orcs, undead, and spiders wander this area; creature levels increasing the further east you go. At the eastern edge of the plains is the stronghold of Permafrost, guarded by Lady Vox's ice giants.

A frozen river provides cover over a hidden entrance to an underground cave system. Should you choose to venture here, watch for the aggressive lich Miragul, the host of icebone skeletons, and massive glacier bears which occupy the caves.

Frequented by blinding snowsqualls and traversed by aggressive goblins, orcs, undead, and wildlife, Everfrost provides one of the more challenging experiences for new adventurers.

In my opinion, Everfrost is the best newbie area! It has alot of low lvl spowns, two of which (gnolls and goblins) can raise you faction with Halas. It has lvl 1 bears which drop pels which can be used for leather, and Guards don't wander around KSing everything you pull!

I love Everfrost, I went from levels 1 to 21 here, and stopped back in my 30s for momma mammoths and from 50-53 for ice giants. There are some excellent newbie quests for faction, exp, and decent low level items.

One correction: there are NO mobs in Everfrost that can be killed for positive Halas faction. Goblins will only give you negative faction with the dragons Vox and Nagafen, and I don't think orcs have any faction hit at all. There are very few mobs in all of Norrath that can be killed for faction with Halas, and none are very low level or efficient if you also want exp.

What you say on the goblins not giving faction is correct but you can turn in goblin bead to Lysbith McNaff, who is the chick at the pit of Doom in Halas and if I remember correctly you raise faction with:
Merchants of Halas
Shamen of Justice
Steel Warriors
Wolves of the North
You all probley already knew this but I thought I would through in my 2CP worth.

I'd do the quest for your holy symbol first, it can summon a hammer for ya thats good for the first few levels, plus it acts as a lightsource, allowing you to use those shields you've been picking up.

First - get leather! It's very good at low lvls, and it wont be hard to find. Second, kill gnolls and goblins. The give faction and good xp and loot. Third, buy all the spells you can afford.Fouth, do the inate symbol of the tribunal quest. It's relitivley easy, and it's very, very good. Last, kill more gnolls and goblins! Kill them! KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

At level 10 you can go to West Karanas and fight bandits I believe. They will drop the sashes to allow you to turn in at paly guild in Qeynos for Bronze weapons and in turn sell for pp. This should give you some ok exp but the ocassional brigand will solve that problem. Just remember sow at all times because you will be running to zone when facing more than one bandit ie casters. When you grow tired of bandits and need a break there are roaming crits around that zone which will provide exp. Scarecrows as well, but a bit higher than 10. Good luck to you.

First of all to post in this zone must mean I am good which I am. To see EF as a LoIO type on this server for goods is quite interesting. It is difficult to understand why the goods cannot be more organized. I am assuming that there are about 25 percent goods on this server, yes an underdog but that is obvious once you log in and experiment with your first character.
My point is, EF is a great place for a character to develope, goods own EF, in turn there should be constant helping of goods to build the empire. My goodness, evils and newts own 95 percent of Norrath! To see more than 4 good guilds amazes me when there are around 1400 (at one time) people on this server and maybe 400 are good. Organization is key. As much as people camp in EF to gain level to eventually go and fight, it would seem there would be a community feel after so many levels.
Bah! Rant..rant..rant. hehe Yes, I know. Overall, I am worried this server will eventually become of only 2 alignments.
Organize! For high level guilds reading this remember the beginning and then look at the present. Start a movement. This game is fantasy...it can be done unlike in the real world. P Growing weak, effort fading, no hope, oh well switching servers. That is what will happen and there will be no strength in up bringing for the goods. High guildies, yeah you, I don't mean twink them up but hand me downs and even the occassional velium weapons would be nice (to a character of obvious dedication, 14th season-higher). And if parting with those items are too painful some of your wisdom and advice to a newbie would be nice.
Anyways, I will continue to scavenge and build up my skills and become the best I can on this server and eventually will be able to help out my brothers and sisters. It will take more than I to encourage others and fight with them and die with them.

Btw, I have a revenge list too and to get through these lists of ours needs unity. And another idea, if united we don't have to seek revenge and CC somebody. Sure, they do it to us, but the guild/s (ALL GOODS) can put us back on our feet to thrive and maintain the good status.

I am a lvl 28 druid struggling to hit 29 so I can port (I'm very poor). I read about Mammoths being good exp and made the journey here the other day. The first Mammoth I fought was blue and I am certain I would have killed it (albeit with low mana) except I had 5 green skellies on me at the same time. They were not hitting me for more than a few points, but they kept interrupting my spells so I could not cast on the Mammoth. I eventually had to run and gate because my Snare on the Mammoth wore off. Can anyone tell me if this is a common occurance in Everfrost? If so, any tips on how to deal with it? AoE spells perhaps? Thanks!

This post in in response to druid having trouble with skellies. I am currently a 25th lvl druid and routinely kite yellow con mammoths in EF. The trick to avoiding skellies is to kite your kill to where they ain't. I found the area near Starn Bearjumper to be especially good because u will very rarely encounter skellies or orc mountaineer/shamans. Usually just kite them back there and run cirlces around ruins letteing my DOT do it's thing. Was a little hard at lvl 23 when I started, but lvl 24 u get Creeping crud an excellent DOT. I haven't died since lvl 24 and am leveling rapidly Mammoths are great XP/money makers.

The skeletons attack anyone and are a pain because they do bash... just look around before you take on anything else, and pull your fights away from the main traffic.
RE: Greenies
# Aug 16 2001 at 7:11 PM Rating: Decent
I have never seen skellies doing that. Just look around before you start the fight. I have seen orcs recruiting large groups of shamons and mountaineers and fighting and killing large numbers of players. Just be careful and look around you.

Hi all i am a lvl 10 druid halfling from Misty Thicket and I got a tp to NK from where I ran (naked) to Halas and got a bind. I tried soloing some calfs at lvl 8 but root & nuke didnt always work I am lvl 10 now and can sometimes root and nuke a mammy calf that cons red and beat him up until I run out of mana at which point I can melee him but I am looking for the fastest way to lvl and finding a partner to calf hunt is ok exp but gets boring and sometimes they dont understand the concept of root & nuke and get us both killed well I would really like some advice so help if you can :) -- Lvl 10 druid halfling of the Lucilin Server

I had your same problem at your lvl man. Best thing to do is go to the end of the river, that's the safest place to pull to and med after a fight. You have snare right? USE IT!! ***** that root!! often your nuke will break the root so you are on the run again. Just snare it, turn and run, stop and nuke. You don't have to be facing the mob to cast on it. Oh and Panic animal is awesome when you get it USE IT TOO. Then you can have a tank go on in and tear it up!! I'm lvl 23 now and huntin the big mammoths and I still just snare them, turn, run and nuke em till they're about dead. When they start to run they won't move. What better time to practice your weapon skills on a red or yellow mob??

Newbies and funding
# Jul 01 2001 at 3:47 PM Rating: Default
Being there not too long ago, I just wanted to share some trading experience. For those that are newbies, and think there are no great money for you, are WRONG. Newbies has excelent sources of earning good amounts of Platinum. Take decaying skeletons for example, they drop them bone chips. Collect 20 of those, and sell them (to other characters, usually high lvls)......bone chip stacks goes for 2,5 pp. The even greater catch are the High Quality bearskins. Collect those and get rich. High lvl characters pays 30 pp for those, heck I even sold 3 for the price of 40 pp a' piece one time......collected 120 pp. Helped me a lot. And one last thing - Be polite, high levels aprove that, might drop of a great piece of armor now and then too, so remember...be polite and donøt beg !!

If I am thinking of the right guy, got my sicken spell from him, I believe. Coming from Halas, Go to the beginning of the tundra and turn to go north. When you get to the wall turn right (east), and follow it along the top until you see some ruins to the south. He is on the ruins. If you hit the river you went to far.

Greets,

While hunting mamoths in EF I came accross a tower on the north wall near the secret entrance to permafrost. Inside was an Inky wizard named "Eluvei" or something. Con'd blue to 29 druid. Tried to take him but he is way under con'd, with high resists and gobs of hps...

Who is this sucker and whats he for?

Also ...don't go wolf form in this zone...I did and while the gds at entrance to halas don't care, the ones by snowflake do..(whats up with that??)
So does Tundra Jack and his lacky Iceburg...my demise, had the guards out run, but berg' has sow faster than mine...Ill kill him later for it...cost me a bbl of yellow, so im gonna own the barbs in time...who needs faction there anyway..

So whos the inky? anyone know?

The Dark Elf there is for a Paineelian Shadowknight quest.

They're supposed to return his head for a SK only (and maybe Erudite only as well) set of leggings.

Sup Everyone.

I got a little question for all those big barbarians and people who've hunted here for ages.
And that questions is...... Where would a lvl 17 paladin hunt??

Now the reason i ask is because i havent been to this part of Antonica before (sticking to Faydwer and Freeport areas) and have recently arrived to start fletching, also to experience new things (ie. killing diffrent things other than Dervs, CB Orcs, HH Orcs and Gnolls).

Any info or help will be appreciated deeply.

GREAT EXP!!!
# Apr 16 2001 at 12:06 AM Rating: Decent
I love this zone for one reason. ICY ORCS! So far I have leveled from Lvl 24 to lvl 27 in 3 days!! Which is very impressive! The exp that these suckers give is just amazing! The minimum lvl to face these is lvl 22. And also make sure you have a durid in your grp since they spawn together you will need to harmony so you dont pull too many. And also once you have cleared out the Icys you can hunt mammoths for some pretty good loot and exp. When here just watch out for Redwind who spawns in the middle of the orcs. He cons yellow at 27 and I assume that he is lvl 28. He is a Shadow Knight with a mean Harm Touch that I have seen kill low lvl casters in one blast. Also the loot is very good. Ranging from 5gp to 4pp per kill and also the Icys drop Fine Steel Weapons and cracked staffs. And also the Orscs are all shaman so watch out for that.

i hunted here tell i got 15 but this place is way way cool it is my favoret zone i think you should just hunt by halas lvls 1-6 then head to two trees as people like to call lvls 6-14 after that you might want to head to a tower called megs lots of calfs orc mountainers and orc shamans and lots of snow leaperds way good xp lvls 14-22 then you might want to move towards a rune on a island shaped place and maybe solo or good and kill wolly mamiths way good xp and good loot sometimes droping tusks witch go for about 9 plat a peace lvl 22-32 another good place from 24-35 is icey orcs good xp with name orc witch has a powerful fight right off the bat, good loot fine steal weapons sometimes and named orc with pet has a druid quest item i think and icey orcs drop about 2 plat a peace you kinda want to watch out for marter icebear he is a lvl 30-32 mob witch drops icebear cloak it is a pretty good cloak he hits way hard up in the 70s you might be able to run him to perma frost and has the guys that are fighting Ice giants kill him they are always happy to kill a rare mob then about 35-60 you can sit and hunt Ice giants droping IG toes aboout 30-60 plat and fine steal weapons this zone is one of the greatest zones ever made i really recammend it for every one

At level 7 or 8, you can solo the Composer. At level 9, you can solo all three, the Soloist being the toughest. On my way from Halas to Blackburrow, all THREE crossed my path. I took damage down to 50% each time, and slightly medding to regain Mana. I took the initative each time, getting a dot on them before they got into Melee with me.
