Located in the northeastern portion of Antonica, this thick forest serves as the Dark Elven gateway to Norrath. Dark Elven guards and dragoons roam the high-traffic paths in what seems to be a futile attempt to keep it clean of trouble.

A group of halfling druids, agressive to their dark elven counterparts, have developed a few encampments here. Their reasons are unknown; perhaps they wish to one day take over Neriak. Also established in this forest is the Deathfist Clan, as they slowly make their way northward from the Commonlands.

A stream juts through the forest and leads to the newly discovered Depths of Darkhollow, the final resting place of Gnomish Expedition 328. Corathus Creep, the fungus-ridden area beneath Nektulos can be reached through the western edge of the water.

Over the years, the forest greenery has been worn down, forming a pathway running north to south. At the southern tip are the Commonlands while at the north end is a mountain passage to Lavastorm.

I wandered into Nektulos Forest, a 17 level human warrior (Mithaniel Marr) Earthen Guardians and Guard X'Onnu starts hitting on me. I haven't been one to kill guards and avoid it when possible, but I slayed him (conned dark blue) and left the zone. Will all guards of the zone attack me now? What about my faction with the other guards of East Antonica? Is there a way to alter my faction with these guards?

DORF!!

DUH your a human, and probably a goodie two shoes one at that, of course the DE guards will attack you. Try starting a DE character and going into Qeynos and see how many guards attack you.

What he said LOL! Of course your KOS. And probably always will be unless you do some SERIOUS faction work. No worries tho, why would you care as long as you don't plan on spending alot of time in this zone!

Cazic-Thule worshipping Erudites are also not KoS to the Nektulos guards. It's a deity alliance thing.

But go easy on the guy - not everyone knows the complicated factions and stuff y'know. There are new players all the time.

If you want to raise DEF faction (and let's be honest, why would you want to? Honestly, we're not nice people!), you'll want to kill lots of Leatherfoot raiders (found in Nektulos as well, in camps away from the path). Killing them raises most of the DEF guard factions, but NOT the guilds and merchants IIRC, so be careful if you decide you want to go into the city when you stop being KoS!

With the new Exterminator NPCs, faction raising once you're able to get inside a city (any city except Gukta, BTW) is simple. The Exterminators are indiff to all, and if you hand in whatever they're looking for, you'll get a faction hit for most of the city NPCs. Of course, in cities with both good and evil alignments (Freeport, Ak'Anon, etc) you will probably lose faction with one when you raise the other.

Unfortunately, I've not yet found any way to raise Gukta guard faction if you're KoS. It's not related to Guk frogloks, and the only quest I've found which raises it is the Exterminator quest - not much use if you can't get in there in the first place.

/sigh

Now, let's play 'Spot the faction addict'... ;)
