Fabled '07

Can confirm that 'The Fabled Reishicyben' pops as part of the new luclin fabled. Killed him today on Cazic Server. Drops a fabled version of the ancient sensate cloak with stats listed below. Conned grey to a 72 Rogue, and dropped in a matter of a minute or so. I would imagine he is lvl 45. Can quad for 100.
Drop is tradeable, least mine is dunno if they fixed that in the emergency patch or not.

I was wondering and i havent been here in years do people still fight in this zone. Im on the Karana server and have been for years. I dont think people fight in the same zones anymore because there are so many new ones. the only people who really know about this zone are all the old-school people. I was jsut wondering. Happy hunting.

Getting Passed B1
# Feb 23 2005 at 12:15 PM Rating: Decent
Here is a tip for my fellow noobs. When entering PC from Shawdow Haven and you need to get by the first set of Huts(b1) stay high on the left wall(as high as you can go). if you do this you won't get agrro. If your going to b2 stay left and continue up high until you can't any longer. Then it is a short swim to the huts(b2). Also at b1 after hugging left wall go straight down to water turn right(close to water)and you can access right tunnel with out pulling unwanted mobs from the Huts. Follow this tip and you will avoid unexpected trains. Stay Safe and Good Hunting.

I really wish you people with your highlevel chars and low lvl twinks would stop all this nonesense about SoE not recognizing camps and just walking in to a camp and start killing mobs while another group has been there. Its called common curtesy to ask if you can share the mobs. Or go someplace else since your twinked and can solo. I'm sick of this zone because of all of this. I hope SoE does something about this place, like nerf the exp even more, or make another lvl 15-25 zone that has better exp so people with twinks can go there and hunt.
they nerf the exp here?
# Aug 19 2004 at 1:02 PM Rating: Decent
hunted there last night with my 16 ranger and long ago when i hunted there with my other toons lvled pretty fast. not the exp seems to be nerfed and not going up as fast.
anyone else see the nerf on exp here?
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 22 2004 at 9:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hmmm not leveling as fast huh? Could it be this from the last patch 13 Aug 2004?

I had a great group last night in C2. I started off as a lvl 15 warrior, at the end I was lvl 25 in just a few hours! However the night didn't end in a good way. This Ogre warrior named hendricks came in with a froglok and started to kill mobs from our camp. They looked twinked to me but the rude thing was that he didn't even ask, the ranger in my group along with the bard decided to ks him since he was being rude. He kept saying dont ks me and stuff like that, then after we said that we were here first your ksing us he said something about SoE not reconizing camps. He really got under my skin so I said that there plenty of zones for you to hunt in. He said yep, but didn't look like he was leaving. I don't mind sharing camps but if only he would have asked in the first place instead of walking in on us. Oh yeah, he left after awhile btw but came back after a few minutes and decided to train us, three of us died, (thanks alot you jerk). After the corpse recoverey which took awhile a group member told me he brought in a highlevel alt to ks the group. Well thats when I got fed up and decided to leave. Was lvl 25 anyways and not getting much exp at the end. But still a sour way to end a great night.
RE: Anyone else experience this?
# Sep 18 2004 at 12:22 PM Rating: Decent
In EverQuest, GM's do not recognize camps. Every mob is up for grabs. You can "claim" a camp all you want, but if someone takes a mob from it they are not breaking rules. Taking a mob from a camp is NOT ks'ing, stealing the kill from a mob already engaged IS. While what he did WAS indeed rude, he was not breaking the rules, and you were.

This situation comes up a lot in PC. People need to learn the rules and learn to share camps.

Ok, lets put it this way, you are right about GM's not recongizing camps in a way, however if people are fighting over mobs and they get enough complaints they will tell you what ones you can and cant kill to make it fair for all so dont think you can just walk into a camp and start taking them even tho you are not breaking the rules Gm's will make the game fair for all as that is part of their job
Trains
# May 09 2004 at 9:54 PM Rating: Decent
Well i was in there with my lvl 15 mage... got her up to lvl 20 REALLY fast but still i died like 20 times... sigh lots of wasted xp... but anyways SOOO MANY PPL make HUGE TRAINS!!!! i mean if u pull it and u cant fight it at least die tryin... or if ur to much of a B***h to do it then at least send shouts or ooc's... i mean common i was in there for 30 mins ONLY and 7 trains in ONLY 30 mins all of fiends and BOTH groups at bandit camp 1 was ALL destroyed and some ppl JUST zoneing in to go lookin for a group also died to... and some ppl got friends to go help kill the train well they died to and this wasnt just a ONE day thing its happened to me MANY times in there!!!!
best exp I have seen since lvl one!!

ok heres what I do and It WORKS SOOOOOO WELL!!!!
I only just discoverd these caverns witha alt at lvl 5
and I died hard, but then i went to pok and asked around and some nice high level char gave me some nice buffs, so I went back to the caverns and soloed at the entrance till I hit lvl 6(took me like ten mins) if things get out of controll just zoneand keep going deeper and deeper when things start coning blue and green and you need a realy good wepon, like the guy i did this with was a Ogre BST with A Pollished Steel Ulak, and I.... well i already told you how great it was

My DE rogue (agnostic) was Indifferent to the recondite bandits. Was great running past them and Yelloweyes without fear of being attacked. I made some nice plat dragging corpses back to their owners.

As to their Indifference to Zerkers, who knows? Maybe they just like guys and girls with hairy chests. I think their organization just likes Rogues and Berserkers, I am pretty sure religion choice doesn't make a difference. I also love, but also hate, the fact you can kill them all day and get no faction whatsoever with Shadow Haven.

Bards are also non-KOS by these guys. Marciella Slithra is the only recondite mob that has a faction hit. I am not sure if the regular recondites will be adjusted if you kill her, since they themselves have no faction.
Something odd about the bandits
# Mar 07 2004 at 8:36 AM Rating: Decent
Was in there earlier today with my 17 Dwarf Berserker that worships Brell and all the bandits conned indifferent, everyone else in my party had them con scowling. I remember on my other characters they were also scowling, just wondering if this is a glitch or what?
????Enchanters????
# Feb 02 2004 at 1:02 AM Rating: Decent
What is up with this zone's utter lack of chanters. I've checked for like 4 days now and still no chanters... at all.... so you'd figure it would be easy for even a 16 enchanter to get a group here. Unfortuantly this isn't the case. Are enchanters no longer nessary, should I quit this char and make a new one?
missing!!

You're missing the 5 lvl 55+ dorf miners in the caverns...just thought I'd point that out, as some people like to hunt these for exp. post 55, since theres such a huge exp. bonus here.

I myself dont recomend it, me and a group tried to kill one...we had a 49 warrior, a 52 warrior (me), a 54 druid, and a 65 cleric healing...I was the MT and i probly got 15+ complete heals...These guys have CRAZY HPs!! Absolutely amazing...and they didn't even give that good of exp. It was about a 15 min. fight...and not worth it at all...

Check it out yourself...but be prepared, cause theres no way a full, balanced group of lvl 55s can do this...no way, unless you got a 65 cleric healing...in that case it'd be eeeeeeasy

I went in there today with a friend (59 bst & 65 necro). These dwarves con'ed blue to both of us, had a TON of HP, and took some time to kill. We only killed a couple out of fear of how large their faction hits were.

I got about 1/2% xp per kill (at 59), and I think she got 2% AA each (at 65). They dropped no money, a *rusty* mining pick, and a no-rent helm.

Way back in the day, the Nexus tunnel with the POK book was a closed tunnel to Paludal Caverns. The tunnel had collapsed, so you couldn't zone from the Nexus into Paludal Caverns, and the dwarf miners in Paludal were there to dig in and open it back up again. At that time, there were a couple of NPCs in that tunnel in the Nexus, and they explained how the tunnel had collapsed and there were miners working on opening it back up again.

Now, those Nexus NPCs are gone, and the POK book is there. However, the dwarven miners remain in Paludal Caverns. The lead miner is for at least one quest, to raise faction with the short folks in Shadow Haven. That may be the only reason those dwarves are still in there digging; removing them would put a kink in a few quests.

I don't think they were ever meant to be killed, and those picks they have are probably just regular mining picks.
RE: Dark Blues to a 57 bst in PC?
# May 13 2004 at 10:06 PM Rating: Default
Actually I think you're right, they really aren't supposed to be killed. They have VERY high hps..ALOT more than a normal mob of their lvl, and they also hit extremely fast for their lvl. Although they don't drop regular mining picks. They dropped a NO RENT piece of armor (Boots i belive..pretty crappy) and also a NO RENT mining pick...again, i don't remember the name of it but it was bad. Like a 4/27 or something hehe.
Finding a Group

If you're not a direct healer or a tank, it's hard to find a group. All this past week, every time I, currently a level 20 beastlord, have tried to find a group, no one would reply. The enchanters, druids and clerics get swift replies, but as a beastlord, not even a 'not at this time' reply.

Any suggestions for a Beastlord to find a group in an area so often overcamped?

It's not that easy when you have 40+ people fighting over two bandit camps. There's not enough space for a new group.

The other comment to my comment above, stating about needing to come on at 2am, that's what I had to do to finish this section of my levelling. Now, thankfully, there's LDoNs. No more fighting over overcamped camps. ;)

Aye, like I said in my post, if you can't find a group, start one, or since your a beastlord, you can solo :)
Sharing camps is stupid
# Oct 29 2003 at 9:19 PM Rating: Default
I would just like to say that sharing camps is a stupid idea. People do it now in this zone and why? Yes it has great experince but its not worth it if your getting other pepole pissed off because they were there first. I wasn't even asked if this other group could come in and share the other tents. If I was asked that would be different but in this case they just walked in and started killing mobs from the tents on the left side. My group had been pulling from both sides and not having any problems at all. I mean, if the spot is camped why not move to a different camp or zone? There are tons of decent experience zones now that are unused because of this place. And they didn't even bother to call camp check either. Not many people respect other peoples camps anymore. Its a shame what people will do for bonuse experience. Anyways I'm glad I'm 25 now cause I get to leave this place and hunt in high hold keep. Good luck to the rest of ya.

Grumpy Owlbear. New NPC? Was running through PC a while back and came across a Grumpy Owlbear's corpse. Never seen this guy before, or since... but he spawns at the same spot as Yelloweyes.
He dropped a fine steel ulak, which was lore / no drop. Very unusual. Anyone else seen him? I've got a screenshot of him, maybe I should send it in.
A rain of spores?

Was fighting outcast Chik'Tars yesterday with my monk and heard "A rain of spores begins to cast a spell". Thought, wow, whats that? All of a sudden it said "You resisted the Rain of Spores spell!". Anyone else seen this? or killed it? I think its a trap of some sort cause I couldnt see it or target it.
RE: A rain of spores?
# Oct 23 2003 at 4:28 PM Rating: Default
Yes, this is a trap. Some of the fungus you see growing on the walls sends out an AoE trap if you get too close to it. If you're invisible, this will break your invis spell, so be forewarned.

Whiners
# Aug 14 2003 at 12:09 PM Rating: Default
PC itself is a great place if you have an 18+ level char. If you can heal and/or cure, your sure to get a spot in the group. But God help you if you ask to share a camp. You get a handfull of whiny teenagers (no offense to any here) who boo hoo and go cry to the GM. I was in there last night with my 12 Mage trying to get a lvl or two higher. We managed to get a group of 6 mid teen level chars together and asked to share one of the camps. You would think I asked for their personal blood.
They got mad and cried for 2 hours. I am a 33 year old Sgt in the Army. I am used to all kinds of whiners and could care less. As long as I'm paying my fair share for this game and server, I will hunt where I wan't. They don't like it? Oh well.

Point is, watch where you go and what you do. The whiny kids in there are far more annoying than any mob there. (this was on the Erollisi Marr server BTW). And yea I will be there tonight too. So if yer on that server and wanna bash some whiners, come on in.
RE: Whiners
# Sep 13 2003 at 11:02 PM Rating: Decent
If you ask a gm they will tell you to share the camp spawn there anyways. A gm says there are no camps in eq, as long as you dont ks another group there is nothing wrong with taking the pop before someone else who isnt ready to take the mob at that time.
RE: Whiners
# Sep 01 2003 at 9:47 PM Rating: Good
OK... people camp spots for a reason... to get exp with a group, when other people are taking there mobs it means no exp for them and slow spawn times means no leveling so maybe u should just wait for a spot in the group to open up and get into a group already there before going and getting ur own group with no camp :)

For exp for 15-25 This place is VERY GOOD for group and solo EXP. After that move to Maru Seru for 25-30. Then to Dawnshroud for 30-40. I swear by the Moon!

I have to disagree.

Maru Seru sucks. I hated it. Dawnshroud is over populated (at least on my server).

I suggest Paludal till you ding 26. I went to Mistmore and soloed till 30, but if I'd known about South Karana, I'd have gone there instead to camp the Spires or the Aviak City. There seems to be a big experience modifier on the Spire Gnolls. At level 33 I was still getting 3 or 4 blue bubbles of experience per dk blue gnoll. At 35 or 36 the xp falls off, so you can either go into the paw (it's a "hot spot" like Paludal, only for higher levels), or you can head to either
1: Iceclad and fight the snow cougars
or
2: Firona Vie and fight the Drolvargs. The dogs seem to have an experience modifier on them as well, giving extra xp per kill.

Just my 2cp.
