The Twilight Sea is probably more land than it is water, consisting of several islands as well as a hidden area in its north accessible only by an underwater tunnel.

Katta Castellum sits in the east, its towering walls and guarded boundaries difficult to miss. Numerous city residents can be found on a nearby island containing two fishing docks and an inn called Jern's Rest. The Twilight Sea also connects to the dry, barren part of Luclin: Past the range of cliffs and mountains in the west is the Scarlet Desert.

Lesser Guard of Haste

Does anyone know which mob drops the lesser guard of haste? My rogue definitely needs one of these. The unlimited haste effect is very intriguing. Also, does anyone know the level restriction to use these? I am hoping it's not 45 like ES gear.

There is a wounded Legionaire called Halle lying on the shore at -850,-1800.

If you hail her you get;

Legionnaire Halle coughs a few times and reaches out to you, 'Please help me.' '

If you say 'how can I help you?'

She then says;

Legionnaire Halle considers you for a moment and shakes her head, 'I have information that can only be shared with a trusted member of the Validus Custodus.' '

I cant get any further, I guess due to faction. Anyone else know more?

RE: Legionaire Halle

Founf Legionairre Halle on the shore.. she would not trust me, I used Charismatic Carillion to change faction to aimable and asked again..

She gave me a note to take to Phenic in Katta Castelleum in the big building across form bard house and Tennebrous zone. After giving the note to Phenic, he asks me to deliver a note to Marlik (downstairs in same building... lazy sod).. Marlik is clearly distrught and hands me a dossier to Tilbok in the other gov't building near the graveyard (he is upstairs right side at the end of hallway nearest the fornt door)

Tilbok gets excited at the prosepct of catching a Santus Seru spy. He asks if you want to help...

After you tell him you want to help, he gives some fake Field Orders for a guard (centurion or legionaire?) named Claudius. He also gives a special "recording stone".

--------Where my efforts currently have stalled--------

He instructs you to give the orders to Claudius and follow him until he meets up with a smuggler/trader named Vahn. After he meets up, you are to say "traitor to the Validus Custodus" to him (I hotkeyed it).. at which point, gaurds show up to take the both Claudius and Vahn into custody. You then give the recording stone to ?Cooney? or some such NPC...

Dunno what you get in return

Items dropped by elementals
# Mar 11 2002 at 10:07 AM Rating: Default
I've spent a number of days camped on the elemental island, and have come across the following items while there - ( note I don't have all the stats off hand but will list names none the less ) Also I'd like to add that it doesnt not seem to make a difference what type of elemental the mob is (fire/water/air/earth) but only prefix type, (bezerk/swift/gigantic/massive etc.)

Earthen Gaunts - 5str 10ac
Lesser cap of health - 3sta 10hp
fine woven sleeves, 3wis/int/str
also a "greater" version of these sleeves that are 5 to the before mentioned stats.
fetish of the nimble 5agi/dex 2%dodge
fetish of the agile 10agi/dex 4%dodge
lesser talisman of whistfulness 2ac 3wis/int/cha if i remember correctly.

Usually when I'm in the twilight sea I have to contend with lvl 55+ people, which makes getting ahold of all the items dropped difficult, seeing as I spend more down time medding then I do actually bumping off mobs, My only interest in the island itself it to aquire the greater sleeves and the greater talisman of whistfulness, I'll leave the farming up to the people who don't think kill stealing is a crime when commited against druids.

i have found the easiest way to get through to this zone is fungus grove. No i am not high. this zone is pretty constantly packed wth people who can invis you, and trust me, lvl 60 invis last more than long enough to get yu through here. also, the mobs around the portal area..can t remember their names but i know they are not kos to anyone who has not killed them before, animal-type i think, so indifferent to everyone. the biggest danger are the stationary lotuses who nuke you. this would bother me more if they could follow me around a corner, but without line of site they cant hurt you, so this is not a big deal either. really its an easy trip following a wall, no biggy, and really pretty simple. just dont let invis wear off or you WILL die.

Oh and btw nothing in the zone sees invis that i have ever cme in contact with, go ahead poke theevil looking bandit dude, he cant hurt you.

Got a new set of sleeves for my druid tonight woo hoo. Dropped from greater air elemental I believe are +5wis/int/str +10man +10hp great for us still wearing ulthork lol cant find any pricing data on them yet tho. Also looted a fetish of the nimble if anyone has any idea on prices of either of these items on XEV server please post so i can get a roundabout estimate.

I saw the fetish of the nimble going for 1.5k today on my server today.. which doesn't sound too unreasonable. I was dumb enough to get a fetish of the agile((same as fetish of the nimble with twice the stats)) and sell it for 2k. It immediately sold after I put up my auction message. Thinking about it later I realized that I could've raised the price by a lot more than that and probably found a buyer =\ Well anyways.. the point of this story is that a lot of these items are new and unexplored anyways. You can pretty much set your own price((as long as it's not outrageous)). If it doesn't work out or people complain that your price is too high.. take that into consideration and maybe drop the price a little.. other than that.... *shrug*

they seem to range from as low as 20 to as high as 45 or so in different locations of twilight. almost all of them have a special proc, from root spells (grol baku, earth), a stun that also drops agility (vas ren, air), slow (cral ligi, water), and flame dd (tro jeg, fire). the ones in twilight hidden area drop 4pp-6pp on most kills while the ones in tenebrous drop gems and acrylia blocks/bricks/pieces but no cash.

RE: curious.....
# Feb 08 2002 at 11:46 PM Rating: Default
I've killed regular and greater elementals with a 51 druid and 54 chanter. The greater elementals, which are the underbosses, resisted most of the spells my druid cast including snare and root. They don't resist Drifting Death and are fairly easy to pull to the Inn Isle and run around. Their hps are fairly low and they died after two DOT applications. My chanter pet cut through the greater elementals like butter and they didn't resist my magic based DD spell. I've never been able to get the boss elementals to spawn so I can't answer the question of how easy they are to kill. I did see a 52 Sk kill a greater earth elemental with some difficulty, so I'm not sure how easy it would be for a 48th ranger to solo one.

Don't bother with the shadows. They have a nasty lifetap and hit hard too. Other than the named ones, the loot is crappy and the named shadows drop items worth 1k or less.
RE: curious.....
# Feb 19 2002 at 9:52 AM Rating: Decent
Well I can solo any of the elementals as a 52 druid no problem and that includes the boss eles like Terra.

Usually the named Eles such as greater, hulking, swift etc take 2 hits of Banish Summoned at 585dd and then I apply Drones of Doom to polish them off. All the named eles resist snare and roots so don't even bother casting. They've hit me up to about 70dd at once before, but usually average about 30-40 and they always cast some type of spell, best to have cold, fire and magic buffs on and then you hardly notice their spells.
Terra took 4 casts of Banish Summoned and a Drones of Doom to finish. Also buff yourself up with yourn thorns or whatever before you fight as it helps to inflict damage on them, common sense really.

It's quite easy to stand toe to toe with these things and cast your DD spells on them as they all cast as well and if you time it right then you shouldn't have any trouble getting off your spells.

One thing to note on the Eles island is that being in Wolf Form will aggro everything that is in range.

A couple of 50+ people should be able to clear the island of Eles withing 30mins or so and then keep the spawns down to about 6 or 8 at once.

Shadows are harder than the Eles, but they can still be taken down by kiting fairly easily.

It's a pitty other people in my level range have not found this yet.
I'm a LVL 28 shaman on Morell thule. These Elementals give me GREAT Exp but with the down time involved for me to solo them life is hard(and fleeting if 1 aggoes to the fight). With a group of 3 to 6 my Level we could be leveling like crazy here.
RE: It's a Pitty!!
# Feb 08 2002 at 11:51 PM Rating: Default
It's a difficult zone for someone your level to get to. They either have to run through Fungus which is a 50+ zone and hope invisibility doesn't drop near something aggresive or run through Shadow moor, Grimling forest and Tenebrous.
RE: It's a Pitty!!
# Mar 06 2002 at 3:56 AM Rating: Decent
its really easy to run through hollowshade, just grab a SoW, ask a druid/shaman nicely and run stay on the road, youll most of everything, the grimling forest is very small and with a SoW its just a quick jog accross you might train, but oh well such is life. Getting through the tenebrous is very simple, everyone should know by 28th level about how to stick to a wall and run along it till you get to where you want to go, im 49th now and i still run along the wall in there, and ive never been agroe'd on, even when i was 25th running through there. Take those simple precautions and the lower levels who would benefit from this zone can get there easily.

# Feb 08 2002 at 11:39 PM Rating: Default
There are many different types of aliens in the secret valley which you reach by swimming throug a very long underwater tunnel. The entrance is underwater on the west side of the zone, around 700, 700. You will need enduring breath and you might want to go invisible since there are lots of aggressive fish in the water north of the tunnel entrance. There isn't much of interest in the valley other than some mobs that drop twilight armor quest items. I found the secret valley to be very laggy on a high end computer with Luclin textures turned off. Go have a look around but I wouldn't bother hunting there.
RE: Underwater cave
# Mar 28 2002 at 5:34 PM Rating: Decent
Same here, the lag in the valley was so bad, I had to face the zone wall to be able to click spells. I need to learn my spell hotkeys. At 47 the valley is nice because you can pull underhulks (blue to me) to the zone wall and root them. :)

Stay away from the aliens though, unless you are higher level or have a partner. They wander everywhere, assist each other and hit very fast. Last night I rooted a brown alien and a blue alien ran up and began to hit me. It resisted my first root and was hitting me so hard, I decided to gate. I went from full life to 28 hps before I was able to get an uninterrupted gate. I arrived at my bind point in Katta with almost no life and no buffs.

*wipes the sweat from her brow*

Also, make sure to have EB before you enter the tunnel. It is very long.
