The Wakening Land is a large forested valley on this otherwise frozen continent. The goddess Tunare has a very palpable presence here, and is the reason that the area is so full of life. The storm giants of Kael Drakkal attempt to push back at the forest, but the Tunarian Residents and Claws of Veeshan have forged a passive alliance to fight their common enemy.

# Jul 07 2001 at 10:01 AM Rating: Decent

Hi,

Im a 34 druid on CT and was wondering if I could hunt in this zone. I've seen the beastiary and found a couple of mobs that were in my range.

Maybe near the zone to SS or Kaiel?

thoughts?

You'll get wrecked. At 34th you should be quad kiting snow cougars at Iceclad.

Go to the gnome village on the third island from the druid portal. You will ensare 3 or 4 individual snow cougars and walk backwards away from them. This will cause them to bunch up into a tight little group. You will then use Lightning Blast, you're 34th level AoE to kill them all. As you progress in level, this will become much easier for you. You'll get to 40th in the blink of an eye

Once you hit 40 you can group with people in the Dreadland's famous North Wall of Karnors Castle. You should be able to level to 46 there, and after that i would suggest fighting in Karnors Castle til you hit 49th and get your other AoE spell, called LIghtning Strike

After that, hit Cobalt Scar and quad kite the wyverns there. That's the best xp you'll get til about 54.

Don't worry so much about WL. It's a horrible little zone that can get you killed a thousand different ways. I'm just there to gather panther skin for my monk.

Anyways, I hope this post was able to help you get along somehow. :)

I found at 34 my mana pool was too small to safely quad much of anything. I went to 35 in GD in Tizmaks, then went to OT for 35th. At 36 I started quadding dire wolves in IC and got to 43 in about a week doing that.

A good test for you to see if you can quad a mob, snare one and kite it with your AOE spell. If you finish it off with 1 bubble of mana left then they are good. If you are at 1/2 a bub left you are going to need to run, sit, shoot, run, etc. If you are oom, don't bother, you will fizz and get partial or full resists when quadding which can turn things really ugly really fast.

I couldn't get the links to work from Allakhazam either.

Chizuya's maps are the =best=. Well worth copying the link and pasting it in your browser to get to it until Alla fixes the URL's.

Any portal into this Zone?

Any Tp can go in Wakening land or Western Wastes? I heard there are Portals to there but I can't find their Location from website map.
By the way, how long will Wuoshi Spawn? It will be deadly if he is just next to portal.
Please those high lv guys visited zones after Kael can show some lights (travelling and hunting) stragedy to have fun in these zones (especially for one small 55+ team). We have cleric, chanter, druid, paladin, mage atm.

I decided to try Wakening Lands today...as a rogue, sneaking through Kael was easy enough (but still scary). Zoned into Wakening Lands to be greeted be a few nice fellow named Berzerker Dolvad, Berzerker Voldak, Disciple Atharm, Corporal Hlash...I started to lose count how many people were invited to the party. I do however know who was being used as the pinata...ME! Each of these guys hits for 100 plus.

I was able to escape back into Kael...with about 200 hit points (out of 1600+).

I just thought I'd give some people new to Wakening Lands a little bit of a warning. I wish I'd have gotten one. Doing a corpse retrieval would have been ugly.

Interesting trip! What level were you when you tried? I went all over Iceclad, the EW and good parts of the GD at level 8 with my Rogue...only got killed 3-4 times. I've been thinking of taking my level 19 Ranger on a Foraging expedition to WL, but am not sure if I would have any chance of surviving very long. Do you know if the northern/Tunare section would be more hospitable to a Tunare ranger? I'm a little more concerned about being blindsided by The Berlzerker's coming into WL..that's only happened once when I tried to visit the Nektulos forest as soon as I zoned..not nice, didn't make it back across the zone line even...any thoughts?
