Just a quick comment...

I really see no point in older characters coming here to bust on the 'crap' the Ghoul Lord drops. 3 years ago, I would've killed for an SSoY or Skull-shaped Barbute. But the fact is, the majority of the EQ is aging past there mid-50's (In level, of course.)... based on that, Verant makes constant efforts to accomodate the majorities thirst to have the best out there. Way back, this WAS the best out there. It says something when on the homepage of this website, Illia herself just hit 60 after 'three long years'. Listen, does anyone else remember when the Screaming Mace was the best out there? Of course, this was pre-Kunark. What were the stats on the mace? Like 8/35 Effect: Screaming Mace... I think! ...My first character rocked a Langseax (6/23) and I thought I was god! But you can't bust on this stuff, because it was simply the best out there. Again, three years ago - Verant hooked up level 15's. Now, they hook up level 55's. Don't laugh when I tell you I talk about Emperor Crush than the way I talk about The Sleeper now. It's just how things were...


On the other end of the spectrum, no one likes that guy who sits in the back of the East Commonlands tunnel babbling about the 'good times' ~ in his full Crafted Armor and wielding two Yaks at level 60 ~ swearing that he'll never sell out to new trends. When I see Verant making changes and adding a ton of uber equipment, I don't see it as corrupting the game... I see it as almost a gesture of thanks for staying with the game - and in turn, they make this stuff available to you.


Point made, enjoy the game. Better yet, enjoy the game the way you want at any level. Believe me - I had to learn that coming from Prexus. The server is soooo old! If you aren't in at least level 40 armor by level 5, you are laughed at. I'm glad I'm not starting now! I had a leather tunic on until level 17!!!
