The forest of Misty Thicket acts as a gateway to the rest of Norrath for Rivervale's Halfling population. It is a fair-sized chunk of land which is divided into two areas by a great wall. While the eastern side of the wall is well-guarded by the Guardians of the Vale, the western side is dominated by Deathfist Orcs and Runnyeye Goblins.

I have camped MT for a week straight (real time)
Thorn Drakelings are RARE spawn and their scales are RARE as well. Newbies love me as I leave tons of bodies everywhere as I kill everything between the druid ring and the path. ( i have seen them spawn in various locations) I just read that rangers need the scales too!? What a great thing! Not only do I have a hell of a time getting them to spawn but my Rogue has to compete with rangers for the scales too.. What a great bottle neck.. =(

They must have upped the spawn rate since then. I've only been playing for a week on my Halfling Ranger. I just hit level 12 and have a full stack each of Ruined, normal, and Pristine Thorn Drakeling Scales in the bank. I see one every few minutes.

Plus Clerics are after them too - they need 2 of the damn scales!
