I don't always cast this spell, but when I do... I die anyway.

Just kidding. Had to make the joke.

hah, wow, one of my brother must've used my account to post that. Anyways, the statement is correct-- 1/4 means 1/4. It doesn't mean 1 out of 4, but 1/4. That might seem strange, but it's just the way it works-- Example: a die has a 1/6 chance of landing on any given side, but if you roll a die six times, it will hardly ever match its expected once-per-side roll.

Lesson done with permutations...

Basically, just know it's a small chance of it working.
Useful on training Defensive

I dont cast this spell most of the time. But it is quite useful when you need to train your Defensive skill. All you need is : Second Life + Vet AA Exp.Recovery + Tribute then go to Field of Scale(SoD zone).Bind yourself by Talendor then aggro every mob there(Huge aggro range there, much bigger than other Dragons).Rinse and repeat, you could train all your defensive skills from 0 to 375 if you are lucky to proc enough Second Life before you level down to 74.There are 30+ mobs that all quad/Flurry/Rampage and I bet you cannot find anywhere else better than this spot.
Love this spell

I have second life on me 95% of the time. About the only time I do not is if I'm farming and miss my audio trigger for when it wears off.

Tonight in Anguish on an aug run we had a mob run off (total of 6 druids and rangers plus an sk and no one can snare it?) It brought along a few of his friends and before long, I was getting beat on. Second life went off and I start spamming my exodus button. I knew that I had been hit on a very large number of times since my damage window was full beyond the buffer with messages of me being missed due to being invulnerable. The spell lasted for 50 seconds and after exporting my log file to excel and cleaning up the spam from summons, heals and clicking the exodus button, I had 700 lines of invulnerable messages. From looking at my logs, I had a minimum of eight mobs on me and parsing my logs, they had been doing an average of 1700 dps.

So 8 mobs*1700 dps*50 sec= 680,000 damage that I avoided. Sooo, did I mention that I love this spell? :)

Each rank of this spell give a 25, 29, and 33% chance (respectively) to cast Touch of the Divine upon reaching 0% HP.

Only difference being that, with "Touch of the Divine" AA maxxed, a Cleric only has a 10% chance of having his bacon saved every time he reaches the point of death.

Upside is, of course, that it's a completely passive ability that costs 0 mana, and is always active. Not to mention that Clerics (now) have 3 Invulnerability spells they can have memmed at any one time.

(Divine Aura, Divine Barrier, Divine Custody...notice how they can be abbreviated to DA, DB, DC? Will be interesting to see, in latter expansions, what the next spell in the line will be called. "Divine D..."? lol)

So, this being the case, I don't think Clerics could possibly begrudge Druids/Shaman a single spell that provides them the same benefit(s), even if it does provide a higher chance to go off than the innate CLR AA. :)

This spell saved me 3 times in a row (had to recast after the second death, wasn't paying attention to see if the timer ran out or if it only works 2 times then drops). I died twice before those saves.

I've fallen in love with this handy little *********** It was the major motivating factor behind me pushing the SHM I box to Lvl 75; that, and the fact that I hated casting the single-target buffs over and over and over. (Major thanks to the boss for the assist on her!.)

As far as I've seen, there's no limit to the number of times it can 'proc' before fading. So long as you have Second Life up, you've got a riding 25%+ chance of having your chestnuts raked outta the fire for you, no matter how many times it has or hasn't gone off before, or the time remaining on the buff.

Just because it is 25% doesnt mean if u die less then 4 times it isnt 25%. It means every death you have a 25% chance for it to work. Not if i die 4 times it will work once cause 4x25=100. So every death it has 25% chance to work and if it doesdnt then its ur luck lol

This isn't a flame, but I'm doing my math homework right now, and your statement is WRONG. Theoretically, 1/4 means 1/4 times it *WILL* work. But, one could get this to land 4 times in a row, thus disproving the 1/4 always rule. but the 4 times in a row would be extremely improbable, because it would be .25^4... which is .00390625 or 1/256. This spell could also fail 100/100 times, and the ratio would still stand-- you just are one super-unlucky dude.

How is his statement wrong? You both said pretty much agreeing things.

I tried this in arena when I got it, first time...it worked, got a 2k quick heal to me, then like a 300hp HoT, and was invulnerable for about 60 seconds, was awesome...2nd time it didnt go off, nor the 3rd. 25% sounds about right
25%?
