This, and all Buried Sea spells, are now available from PoK library spell vendors. All these spells should be updated to show this change so people do not think they need to do this content to get these spells.

If people want to post or mail in updated inventory merchandise lists for these vendors (with prices), we'll be happy to update them.

It will have to be someone who has never scribed it before, because once you do, it is hidden from purchase.

I wish I could disable "Show only items I can use" permanently. Anyone know if there is a way to do this?

Thanks.

Need indifferent faction or higher. I never tried sneak on this NPC, and it might work. I know with SoF and higher, they made the faction level above sneak indifferent, so it doesn't work on those NPCs.

If you're going to be working on Soltaris access, I'd go with the Rk II version, and only requires Amiable faction, if I remember correctly. Do the entire access quest series will get you close to Amiable. I have no clue how many missions it would take for pirate faction, but I'd assume it's a lot, as it takes many for Katta faction. If you haven't claimed the pirate faction item, and have it available it should help alot.

Personally, I go for Katta faction and Rk IIs on all my toons. There are solo tasks for Orux (Katta faction currency) but none for Doublooms (Pirate faction currency), and even the group tasks are much easier to get people to go on for Katta, as Katta merchants sell alot of useful items, and getting Soltaris access greatly increases your faction. The only reason for Pirate / Doubloom missions is for the Hand aug quest, as far as I'm concerned.

EDIT: Needed to clarify Coin missions and not just faction for the solo / group differences.

Hope this helps.

So do you need the faction for these spells or can you not have ally and still purchase them? I quit playing when TBS came out because I didn't like the way they did the spells in it but now I need some of those spells...of course =/
My thoughts

First off, this spell could be bad in some situation. It will sucessfully root most of the EXP mob for sure, but it will kick off the Ensnare/Entrap effect on mob too.And Ensnare/Entrap wont stick on mob either if the spell is still working.Hmm,wondering whats SoE's logic ...

I did find this spell on Vendor's name : Halon Griere as Vesanus indicated, but there needs to be some corrctions (hint, hint Allah staff...).

First of all, this spell is actually a level 73 spell for rangers and a level 72 spell for druids. In addition, this spell first is a root spell for 30 secs, then once the root breaks it has a snare component that remains for another 30 seconds.

Hopefully Allah will make the corrections soon.

I also have seen some information about our new Thundering blades weapon proc buff that has a chance to provide some sort of defensive shield each time it procs, but I have not obtained a copy of the spell yet so I cannot confirm this info yet. As soon as I do get a copy however, I will post it accordingly under that thread.

Happy hunting folks...

the way that alla works now is it pulls data directly from the game. many times these descriptions do not really describe completely what the spell does. You can however look up spell information on eqplayers.com , and eqplayers gives the in-game description of the spells, which is usually a more precise description than the actual data.

because this is how Lucy and allakhazam get their spell info, it won't be changed or "fixed" as you say. It's not really broken, it's just that alla reads spell info differently than it used to. IMO, alla should include the in-game descriptions for spells, even if they have to enter it by hand.

here's the description for thundering blades, from eqplayers
Quote:
imbues your weapons with the electricity of the storm for 1 hour, allowing them a chance to strike with the fury of thunder. Immediately following a strike, there is a chance that the thunderclap will protect you from attacks for a brief time.

as you can see from the description, it does indeed randomly provide a defensive aspect. by looking on lucy you see that the proc has a chance to autocast Shielding Thunder Chance, which is the defensive shield you speak of. From the spells description it sounds like it makes the player invulnerable from physical attacks for a short duration.

in case you're wondering, the ranger TBS spells are..
(75) thundering blades
(74) none
(73) vinelash cascade
(72) none
(71) nature's entropy

the way TBS spells work is that they require Faction before you can see the vendor selling them. 71 spells require indiff, 72 amiable, 73 kindly, 74 warmly, 75 ally.

Found a spell/item vendor in the zone called, "The Buried Sea". Yes, that's the name of the ZONE.

Vendor's name : Halon Griere

He let me see his wares immediately, so long as I held the "Aviak Spirit Totem" (grants faction, reward for pre-ordering).

Appears they're using the same system as found in LDoN. Ie, spells/items are priced in increments of 50, and you cannot see anything more than 2 tiers above the amount you hold.

Eg, I had just completed a task that rewarded me with 50 Doubloons. I went to Halon Griere, and could see the items/spells for sale up to 200 Doubloons; no more.

Lvl 71 spells = 100 doubloons
Lvl 72 spells = 150 doubloons

Don't know what the Lvl 73 spells cost; must've been for more than 200 doubloons, because I couldn't see anything for sale above that.

"Don't know what the Lvl 73 spells cost; must've been for more than 200 doubloons, because I couldn't see anything for sale above that."

It is because of faction, not the amount of dubloons you have that you cannot see the other spells. You need 4 to 5 pirate missions to raise your faction high enough to buy 71 and 72 spells. I have done a total of 6 missions, but assume I will need 10 or more to see the 73 spells.

Yes it is live and the benefit is that it is not a single target root... it roots all within 15 Radius... it's an AE Root with low resist.

And If so why we would use it? less duration then our other root and same range and cast time. Slightly better Resist check but dose that outway the lack of duration. might be nice if it had a nock back and was an insta cast. But if anyone can see a benifit plz let me know.
