Just noticed they changed these. Looked in my spellbook and it's swapped over. Don't quite get why yet as the dot is half the dmg of our 69 fire based dot (which never lands in PvP) maybe this one will land on players? but for what will probably be a minute amount in PvP. I'm sure my little druid is gonna get some kill points now she will have a dot that lasts for a minute and will probably do maybe 100 per tick IF it lands. As for PvE can't see the real benefit of stacking a 200 or so tick dot over stacking a 400 or so tick dot of a lesser level??
Druids get three DoT lines. Magic based is the mana efficient line. Vengeance is the DPS line. This is part of the debuff line. In addition to doing 250ish damage per tick, it is also lowering fire resist and AC.
This is a good dot to use to get your other fire-based spells to land, while also doing some DPS.
